The Kia Clavis is all set to make its India debut tomorrow (May 8), just a few days after being teased. It will be positioned as a more premium version of the Carens, and will be on sale alongside the current model of the Carens. The Clavis will be completely revealed tomorrow and prices will be out in June. Some of the dealerships have started taking unofficial bookings of the Clavis ahead of launch.
Ahead of its India debut tomorrow, here’s all you need to know:
The Clavis will sport a completely fresh design, while retaining the body style of the Carens MPV. According to the latest teaser, we know that the front-end sports a blanked-off grille similar to the one seen on the Syros. It gets new triangular-shaped LED headlights with angular DRLs taking inspiration from the EV6. It will come with a rugged bumper and a chunky silver skid plate to round off the front look.

The silhouette will remain identical to the Carens, however, it will come with newly designed alloy wheels, likely 17 inches in size. As with most modern cars, the Clavis comes with a new pair of LED tail lamps, which are connected by an LED light bar. Furthermore, you get a revised rear bumper with silver accents.
While the interior of the Clavis is not revealed yet, we expect it to be completely new featuring a new dashboard design and colour scheme. We expect a significant upgrade in terms of the premiumness of the cabin and the features on offer. Similar to the Carens, the Clavis will also likely be offered in two seating layouts, a six-seater with captain seats and a seven-seater with a bench.
In terms of features, it is expected to get some premium amenities to enhance the comforts and safety. A few features like a digital driver’s display (likely to be 12.3 inches), Level-2 Advanced Driver’s Assistance Systems (ADAS) and a panoramic sunroof have been confirmed.

Expected new features include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system from the Syros, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control, a 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake with auto hold, and a powered co-driver’s seat with boss mode.
Features such as a Bose sound system, wireless phone charger, powered driver’s seat and keyless entry with push button start, and cruise control will be carried forward.
Safety bits like six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, front and rear parking sensors, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) will also be on offer.
The Clavis is expected to come with the same powertrain that is offered with the Carens. Here are the detailed specifications:
