With prices for the Clavis yet to be announced, take a look at what features each of its variants offers. Along with that, we also highlight the key features each variant gets and what it misses out on.
Price: Rs 11.50 lakh to Rs 13.50 lakh (ex-showroom)
Base HTE variant of the Carens Clavis gets:

16-inch steel wheels with stylised covers (for diesel variants)
15-inch black alloy wheels (for NA petrol variants only)
Dual tone black and beige cabin theme
Semi-leatherette seat upholstery
Foldable second-row seats with one touch tumble function
Second row 60:40 split seats with sliding and reclining function
Third row 50:50 split seats with recline function
AC vents for second and third row
Keyless entry
Manual height adjustment for driver’s seat
Power windows for front and second-row passengers

Even the base Clavis gets semi-leatherette upholstery, along with practical features such as split seats and a recline function. It also comes equipped with six airbags and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Although the base variant gets multiple niceties, it misses out on an infotainment system and an audio system as well.
One above-base HTE (O) variant gets these additions over the base variant:
16-inch styled steel wheels
Electrically adjustable outside rear view mirrors (ORVMs) with integrated turn indicators
Shark fin antenna
Steering mounted audio controls
8-inch touchscreen
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
6-speaker sound system
Rear parking camera
The HTE (O) variant comes equipped with a 8-inch infotainment system that supports wireless Android Auto/ Apple CarPlay. It also features a 6-speaker sound system. Additionally, the HTE (O) variant is available with all engine options offered with the Clavis.
The addition of LED DRLs and a dual-tone interior scheme would have been a nice touch for the one above base HTE (O) variant.
Over the HTE (O), HTK gets these additions:
LED DRLs
Roof rails
Dual tone black-beige cabin theme
Black metallic finish on dashboard
Auto AC
One touch auto up/down driver window
Front parking sensors
Front parking sensors and premium touches like an automatic climate control system are welcome additions in the HTK variant.
However, features like a tilt and telescopic steering wheel would have further enhanced its appeal.
The HTK Plus variant gets these additions over the HTK variant:
LED tail lights
Rear wiper and washer
Push button start/stop
Cruise control
Drive modes (automatic variants only)
Remote engine start
Auto folding and electrically-adjustable ORVMs
Rear defogger
Electronic parking brake with auto-hold (automatic variants only)
Drive modes, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, and remote engine start are useful enhancements.
However, the absence of alloy wheels and an option for a sunroof are notable misses in the HTK Plus variant.
Feature additions of the HTK Plus (O) over the HTK Plus variant include:
17-inch alloy wheels
Wireless phone charger
Single-pane sunroof
Premium additions like a single-pane sunroof, larger 17-inch alloy wheels, and wireless phone charging are offered.
Although the HTK Plus (O) variant misses out on the option of an automatic gearbox with the diesel engine.
Over the HTK Plus (O) variant, HTX variant gets:
LED headlights
Black garnish on doors with metallic inserts
64-colour ambient lighting
Dual-tone navy blue and beige cabin theme
Leatherette seat upholstery
Retractable seat back table with cup holders
Panoramic sunroof (turbo-petrol variants only)
Single-pane sunroof (diesel variants only)
Tilt and telescopic function for steering wheel
Auto up/down for all windows
12.3-inch digital driver’s display

Safety additions like a 360-degree camera system, blind-spot monitor, connected car tech, a larger infotainment system, and a digital driver’s display are notable highlights.
However, automatic gearbox options for both the turbo-petrol and diesel powertrains are not offered.
The top-spec HTX Plus variant gets these additions over HTX variant:
Second-row captain seats (6-seater variants only)
Ventilated front-row seats
4-way electrically adjustable driver's seat
Rain sensing wipers
Paddle shifters( automatic variants only)
8-speaker Bose sound system
Level-2 ADAS
The option for a six-seater layout, ventilated front-row seats, and Level-2 ADAS are significant additions.
However, the diesel engine is not available with the top-spec HTX Plus variant.
Prices for the Kia Carens Clavis range between Rs 11.50 lakh and Rs 21.50 lakh (ex-showroom). It certainly offers a more premium experience, but that also means it commands a premium of up to Rs 1.81 lakh over the Carens. It will take on rivals like the Maruti Ertiga, Toyota Rumion, and Toyota Innova Crysta.
