Alongside the Vision SXT, Mahindra revealed a trio of fresh concepts, the Vision S, Vision T, and Vision X. These models showcase the brand’s modern design approach, built on the new NU IQ platform that can support multiple powertrain options. That aside, all three concepts share certain elements reminiscent of current Mahindra offerings, including the Scorpio lineup, the XUV 3XO, and the Thar E concept revealed earlier.
In this read, we’ll see how these concepts stack up against Mahindra’s current lineup.
The Scorpio nameplate has long been associated with rugged appeal. From the Scorpio Classic to the modern Scorpio N, the SUV’s charm lies in its commanding stance, ladder-frame toughness, and ability to handle both urban commutes and off-road challenges with ease. The Vision S concept appears to take the familiar DNA and reimagines it for an electric future, but in a smaller sub-4m form factor.

While the Vision S also retains some of the styling from Scorpio offerings, including the upright silhouette and bold presence. Additionally, it also gets full-width LED lighting, and a closed-off grille hints at a cleaner, more aerodynamic direction. The Scorpio N’s profile carries squared-off wheel arches and a slightly tapering window line. The Vision S concept, in contrast, boasts a more minimalist approach with flush door handles and 19-inch aero-friendly alloy wheels.

Based on Mahindra’s new NU IQ platform, it is expected to offer a considerably spacious cabin in its space. Details on its powertrain specs are still under wraps, but the platform is capable of supporting multiple powertrain options. On the other hand, engine options offered with Scorpio Classic and Scorpio N include a 2.2-litre diesel powertrain and a 2-litre turbo-petrol unit.
The Mahindra Vision T concept continues to embrace the off-roader design DNA we first saw with the Thar E. Both concepts stick to the boxy proportions that define a true 4x4, but reinterpret them in a pure EV form. The Thar E’s upright windscreen, squared-off fenders, and pronounced wheel arches still shout ruggedness, while short overhangs and generous ground clearance maintain its trail-ready stance.

In contrast, the Vision T wears its toughness with a sleeker twist, flush body panels, a tapering roofline, and sharp creases replace the Thar E’s slab-sided approach. At the rear, the Vision T’s angled tailgate and connected tail-light strip lend it a sportier, more urban-friendly edge, while the Thar E’s flat tail and exposed spare wheel lean heavily on a utilitarian approach.

Inside, the Thar E blends function with modernity, featuring a flat, robust dashboard, chunky switchgear, and materials built to endure off-road abuse. The Vision T, on the other hand, follows a somewhat similar approach, with a massive central infotainment screen flanked by physical control buttons for quick access. Mahindra has not shared technical details about the powertrain yet, but we expect the production version of the Vision T will take shape as the Thar E. It will sit on the brand’s NU IQ platform, capable of supporting ICE and hybrid setups as well.
The Vision X brings a sharper, more futuristic take on Mahindra’s compact SUV direction, with taut surfaces, angular LED lighting signatures, and a more aggressive stance. Its profile leans towards a coupe-inspired roofline, while the rear is kept sleek with connected lighting elements. In contrast, the XUV 3XO balances everyday practicality with modern appeal, featuring a more upright silhouette, squared-off wheel arches, and a distinctly layered rear design with C-shaped LED elements.

Step inside, the XUV 3XO adopts a clean, upmarket-focused cabin, pairing a dual-screen layout with soft-touch materials. The interior of the Vision X embraces minimalism with a floating widescreen display, minimal physical controls, and a driver-focused wraparound dashboard that hints at a tech-first approach.

The Vision T is still a concept, but it will underpin Mahindra’s NU IQ platform, an architecture designed to support various body styles, high-capacity battery packs, and advanced driver-assist features.
The Vision S, Vision T, and Vision X highlight the design direction Mahindra could take for its future SUV range. While each borrows certain proportions and styling elements from the brand’s present-day models, the shift to the NU IQ platform signals an emphasis on modularity and powertrain flexibility. Whether these concepts reach production in their current form remains to be seen, but they offer a glimpse into how Mahindra might blend familiar design traits with newer electric-focused architecture in the years ahead.
