5 Things You Missed About The Mahindra Vision T Concept!

Mahindra SUV concepts have made the Independence Day thrill go high. And if I had to give it away to one of the concepts, the robust Vision.T would be it. It is possibly a grown-up version of what was earlier called the Thar.e – yes, that means the electric Thar. And in a way, for your favourite off-roader to go on to being an EV, here are 5 things you might have missed noticing in the Vision.T.

1. Face = A Good Looker

Unlike the Thar or a Thar Roxx flanking a boxy fascia, the Vision.T has a rather stylish front, which is more youthful and Gen-Zish in my opinion.

The grille has six multi-slotted rectangular slats which, if you keenly notice, look like exclamations. The headlamps are flanked by LED pixel-type DRLs. Meanwhile, the bumper is chonky, housing fog lamps, a silver skid plate, a bright yellow tow hook, and bonnet latches.

2. Side = The True Thar Sibling

Just as boxy as its ICE siblings, the silhouette of the Vision.T looks familiar.

The wheel arches are squared off, the ORVMs are blacked out, the alloy wheels are dual-toned, and the door hinges do not shy away. Just like the rugged SUV meant for being in the wild.

The presence of roof rails could have amped it up, but the Vision.T chose to stay neat. There’s also a jerry can mounted on the side, just behind the C-pillar on the left side. All these accessories might not make it to the production spec, though!

3. Rear = No Nonsense

The rear end of the Vision.T looks very ready for what it’s meant to do. A tailgate-mounted spare wheel with similar dual-tone alloy designs. The taillights follow a similar design to the front pixel-type DRLs. The rear bumper is, so to speak, THICK! And a silver skid plate contrasts with that black bumper.

4. The New Built

Besides the concepts, Mahindra has also debuted its very new NU IQ platform, which is capable of carrying various body sizes and styles. So, even though we are a little sure of this being the electric Thar, you never know if Mahindra surprises us with a petrol, or diesel, or even a hybrid.

It is also flexible and can accommodate FWD, AWD in both LHD and RHD guise. So, it could be launched in the international market as well at some point in time.

5. Technologia Inside!

Yes, we know you could possibly hear this headline. And the Vision.T looks promising enough to actually be relatable to this meme fest. The Thar and Thar Roxx are already well-loaded SUVs, but from the little glimpse we got of that big portrait display inside, it hints at a long list of features it could bring in its production avatar.

Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e were just the whistleblowers of what is likely a bigger storm Mahindra is prepping for, and now the Vision.T means business. This will make its way after the Vision.S in the market by late 2027/early 2028, and in its production avatar, we can only expect the Thar nameplate to gain more and more fans, just as it has over the years. Another concept showcased, the Mahindra Vision SXT looks like a pick-up version of the Vision T.
