The Tata Harrier is a popular name in the Indian automotive industry, and the Indian automaker has now launched the electric version of the mid-size SUV. While the Harrier was already loaded with plenty of features, the Harrier EV goes a step further and offers more tech and amenities that make you want to spend more time inside the cabin.

A Larger Infotainment! 

Tata has introduced a new 14.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system on the Harrier EV. The unit is larger than that of the regular Harrier’s 12.3-inch display, and is a Neo QLED screen by Samsung. The screen is not only larger, but is also crisper and of better clarity than what is offered with the regular Harrier. Connected car tech features, navigation, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are offered with both systems. 

Boss Mode 

Tata has offered Boss Mode for the Harrier EV, located on the front passenger side. This feature allows the passenger behind the co-driver's seat to electronically adjust the seat in front, thereby increasing legroom and making the second-row seat feel more comfortable. The regular Harrier misses out on this convenience feature, while Tata offers it with the Safari. 

Digital IRVM 

The Harrier EV gets a digital inside rearview mirror, which can be used as a screen that displays what’s behind the car using a camera that is placed on the shark fin antenna. The digital IRVM also acts as a dashcam and records what’s going on in front of the. You essentially have two features integrated into one digital IRVM. 

540-degree Camera

Just getting a view of what’s around the car was not enough, so Tata decided to add another angle! This new view displays what’s underneath the car and gets activated in the new Transparent Mode, giving you a 540-degree view of your car. If you plan on taking your SUV off the road or just want to effortlessly tackle the potholes, then this feature might come in handy. 

Summon Mode And Auto Park Assist 

While these two features are slightly different, they both serve the same purpose, and that is to simplify your parking process and make it easier for you. The Harrier EV is offered with these two features, and it is also the first Tata car to get these features.

Imagine your car being stuck between two closely parked cars, and there is no space for you to enter or exit. That is when the summon mode helps you move your car forward or backwards using the key fob. 

The auto park assist feature identifies a parking spot and parks the SUV in that space after taking into account the cars and other obstacles around.

Bonus: V2V & V2L 

Being an EV, you also get some extra EV-specific features like Vehicle-to-Vehicle and Vehicle-to-Load functionalities with the Harrier EV. The V2V feature helps you charge other electric vehicles, and the V2L function provides AC power to external devices like laptops, appliances, or even power tools.

The Harrier EV is priced from Rs 21.49 lakh (ex-showroom), while the regular Harrier retails between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 26.5 lakh.
