We believe the freshly trademarked name could be for one of the 4 following options

Ather has filed a patent trademark for a brand new name called 450S, could it be a brand new EV offering from the brand, or something different altogether? We believe it could be one of the four options we have mentioned below.

Before that, you must know that Ather recently launched the base variant of the Ather 450X, a more affordable, feature-less iteration of the e-scooter. And the standard with all the features, is called Ather 450X with Pro Pack.

Option 1

It could be a new offering that slots between the 450X base and Pro Pack variants. It could bring the faster charger (along with a few basic features) on the e-scooter, which the base variant misses out on and takes around 15 hours to fully charge.

Option 2

An even more basic iteration of the Ather 450X e-scooter with a smaller battery, offering lesser range. But this is quite unlikely considering the standard e-scooter already has an ‘okay’ real-world range of around 100km.

Option 3

A variant that sits higher than the Ather 450X Pro Pack, but this too, is quite unlikely considering that the naming convention would be all wrong. For pretty much every manufacturer on the planet, S variants rank below X variants, and we don’t believe that Ather is that subversive.

Option 4 (most likely)

The most plausible option is that the current base variant called 450X could be renamed to 450S, and the Pro Pack variant could be called just 450X. This will make the naming convention a bit simpler and easier for everyone to understand and differentiate between. We believe this is the most likely scenario at the moment, what do you think the 450S would be?

The Ather 450X base and Pro Pack are priced at Rs 98,079 and Rs 1,28,443, ex-showroom Delhi including Fame II and state subsidies.
