The new Honda Amaze has become the current buzz of the Indian market, especially in the sedan segment. It has arrived with a starting price tag of Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom) and is offered in three variants, all powered by a single NA petrol engine. While there was no mention of a CNG option during its launch, it is now confirmed to have the same. However the reality is slightly different.
Unlike its rivals, which provide factory-fitted CNG kits, the Amaze’s CNG kit can be installed at select dealerships offering this service. So, if you're planning to opt for the new Amaze with a greener fuel option, here’s what you need to know:
The Honda Amaze is available in three broad variants: V, VX and ZX. The CNG kit will be offered across all variants except for the CVT transmission option, which means you won’t have to compromise on all the essential features except for the ones exclusive to the CVT variants like paddle shifters and remote engine start. The CNG fitment will also be taken valid under standard and extended warranty.

The 2024 Honda Amaze is powered by a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that delivers 90 PS of power and 110 Nm of torque. It comes paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 7-step CVT automatic transmission. However, with the CNG kit installed, it will have a slightly reduced power and torque output in the CNG mode. Additionally, the CNG option will be limited to the manual transmission, excluding the CVT automatic variants.

The Honda Amaze is priced between Rs 8 lakh and Rs 10.14 lakh (ex-showroom) with the petrol engine on offer. Opting for the CNG kit at dealerships will come at an added cost of around Rs 1 lakh (subject to change as per the dealer), as well as the installation charges which you’ve to bear as extra.
The Honda Amaze continues to rival the updated Maruti Suzuki Dzire and the existing Hyundai Aura and Tata Tigor—all of which come with CNG kits straight from the factory.
