Hero Motocorp has launched a more feature-packed variant of its 125cc scooter, the Destni 125. Here is a rundown of all that you need to know about the new Hero Destini 125 Xtec.

Design Updates
Overall, the design of the scooter stays the same as the standard variant, however, the Xtec variant gets a redesigned headlight section with a new LED unit. It features chromed-out rear view mirrors and handlebar ends, apron-mounted glove box, and new colour schemes.

New Features
For a more flavourful product, Hero has packed the Destini 125 Xtec with a semi digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, and call and SMS alerts. It misses out on turn-by-turn navigation. Additionally, the scooter features a USB charging port in the glove box and also gets a backrest for the pillion.

Same Hardware
The scooters flaunts the same hardware, suspended on a telescopic fork up front and a single rear shock absorber. It’s anchored by 130mm drum brakes on both ends with CBS. Sadly, a front disc isn’t offered even as an option, and would have been something that would be appreciated.
Rivals
The new Hero Destini 125 Xtec falls in the fairly popular 125cc scooter segment in India and competes with the likes of TVS Jupiter 125 (Rs 75,625), Suzuki Access 125 (Rs 75,600), Honda Activa 125 (Rs 74,157), and the Yamaha Fascino 125 (Rs 73,700) all prices ex-showroom Delhi. Some of the above mentioned scooters flaunt more features, like the Access 125 comes with turn-by-turn navigation, and the Fascino 125 gets a segment-first mild-hybrid system

Price
The updated feature packed variant of the Destini 125 is priced at Rs 79,990 (ex-showroom Delhi), demanding a premium of Rs 10,090 over the standard variant. With more features, it is expected that the price of the scooter will also increase, however, a front disc would have made the deal sweeter.
