- Both bikes are of different segments and have different characteristics. Keeping the bike for long will totally depend on how it is maintenance and ridden. The Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 looks good, is quick, and rides and handles well. However, the KTM 250 Duke offers the same traits with the added benefits of a spacious rider and pillion seat and a larger fuel tank. If you are less inclined towards practicality but lean more towards design, the Vitpilen 250 looks more eye-catching and is more engaging to ride. So effectively, the Svartpilen 250 is in no man’s land. We feel that KTM/Husqvarna should have capitalised on the Svartpilen’s scrambler appeal. They could raid the KTM parts bin and use the 390 Adventure’s longer travel suspension, larger 19-inch front tyre, serrated footpegs and turn the Svartpilen 250 into a proper scrambler. With these updates, even a price hike of Rs 20,000 would put it at par with the KTM 250 Duke’s pricing, but then you would have a more capable Svartpilen 250 pointing in the right direction -- off-road. As things stand, you have better alternatives to the Svartpilen 250 from its own family and another capable 250cc motorcycles.Owning and riding multiple motorcycles is a luxury that few can afford and even fewer can truly enjoy. If the Himalayan is on your shopping list, it’s quite likely that it’s going to be your only motorcycle. And as an only motorcycle, it’s as close to perfect as you can get in this price range, or even a few rungs higher, for that matter. This really is the Swiss Army Knife of motorcycles i.e. a capable, versatile, one-size-fits-all motorcycle. Need something to ferry you to the office and back? No problem. Want to cruise the highways on weekends? It’ll do it all day and all night long. Finally had your leave approved and want to ride to Ladakh? This is just the bike for the job. It’ll even keep you entertained on the twisty bits of tarmac you’ll find on the way. Short of hooning about on track, this is the one motorcycle that’ll do pretty much any and everything you ask of it, without protest or complaint. The Himalayan BS6 is a slightly more well-rounded and desirable motorcycle than before. You may compare both the bikes accordingly. Do take a test ride in order to get better clarity. Check out authorised dealership details.
- The Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 uses the same 248.8cc single-cylinder engine from the 250 Duke that claims to deliver 32.44 Kmpl, while the 411cc single-cylinder unit of the Royal Enfield Himalayan delivers a overall claimed mileage of 37.8kmpl on highways, while in the city runs it drops marginally to 36.26kmpl.
- As per your requirements, Royal Enfield is the clear pick. If the Himalayan is on your shopping list, it’s quite likely that it’s going to be your only motorcycle. Calm, Rudrac Royal Enfield Himalayan are adventurous motorcycles that are meant for conquering harsh terrains. This model qualifies itself as a trustworthy and capable accessory that can withstand harsh conditions and help you to cover many kilometers. This model is engineered with a rather powerful 411cc engine, thus the getting of an optimally and linear speed when the need to travel off-road or highway cruising is necessary.
