Q. Is Duke 250 ABS worth buying? I heard there were issue with air intake and pick up of the bike and there were other issues with engine sound too. Many suggest to go for a Duke 200 or 390 than 250. I am confused. I can't afford 390. My purpose is for daily commute.

I own a D250 and is a very easy maintain m/cy. So far has not faced issues with air intake, unusual sounds from engine or pick-up. Could be a specific issue with someone not maintaining the vehicle properly.

And yes bajaj 400 has proved itself by finishing a polar Oddessy ride from artic to Antartic .As well as from Banglore to Sydney .whereas i havent seen a royal enfield himalayan doing this .i prefer 390 adventure for ladakh than a 250cc duke .But a point to be noted here is 250 dukes have successfully finished a ladakh ride by many of the owners of the same .

If u dont care about latest styling go for duke 200. If u want latest styling go for Duke 250. Mileage is almost same. Duke 250 cost ~35 k more.Duke 200 has single channel ABS rear wheel can lock on hard braking. Duke 250 has dual channel ABS so no worries of wheel getting locked on hard braking. Duke 250 is heavier in weight. I bought Duke 250.

Duke 200 and Duke 250 both are bikes are best in its performance. But, Duke 200 have more demerits or drawbacks as compared to Duke 250. Both have best riding experience due to its power to weight ratio. Maintenance of Duke 200 and 250 are around same. I recommend you to go for Duke 250 because It is best in its segment. When it comes to daily commute facing the real traffic on a daily basis - Duke 250 has only 1 advantage which is shorter handlebar which makes it easier to do cutting and riding zig zag leaving behind others and easily overtaking fellow riders/drivers. Advantage which Duke 390 has is basically dual channel abs which helps you a lot in emergency braking conditions and is much safer option.. on top of it... It is more powerpacked.. It has enhanced TFT display and Bluetooth connectivity which gives you an ease of changing songs, increasing & decreasing volume.. receiving and declining calls from the handlebar itself.. in city traffic its slow moving traffic and its a big hassle to frequently operate your phone wether you have to receive calls.. disconnect existing call or even decline the call... With the help of TFT display you get to know who is calling... wether or not to receive call and you can do all sorts of stuff from the handlebar itself without removing your hands off from the throttle, clutch or brakes. But the only disadvantage is a broad handlebar... RC390 and other bikes have a really short handlebar which helps them to just overtake from a narrow path between two vehicles whereas Duke390 might fail to do so...

I have sold my classic 350 in six months only because of tappet and vibration

My age 49 no back pain issues 2years back I purchased re 350 and sold it to others after usage of 6months, it is bad choice . In single long ride I found - lot of vibrations throughout the body, after 60kmph the problem further increases

If we talk about KTM 250 Duke, probably the most un-KTMish KTM of them all, the 250 Duke with its relaxed motor and comfy suspension is a great choice for those who aren’t looking to set lap records but want something quick and convenient for everyday use. If we talk about Royal Enfield Meteor, the thump wrapped up in a refined, easy to ride, confident and practical package sounds just right. The lack of oil leaks, or missing parts over our 800km stint makes the package more joyous. The healthy fuel efficiency, 10,000km oil-change intervals and 5000km/6 month service inspections make it more endearing. So, this Royal Enfield fulfills the promise made by the Thunderbird many years ago. However, the Meteor doesn’t make a bigger and bolder promise of its own by way of plush ride quality, a greater sense of richness or, crucially, better cruising ability. The Himalayan BS6 is a well-rounded package which is now just that little bit better than before. It’s a nice motorcycle to tour the country on, and even if you don’t actually do so, it makes you look like the sort of person who does so with regularity. Duke 250 is totally for stunt and drag race but still it is good for daily commute of 60 km but only if the road is smooth and it really perform well at it , even in traffic. Come to the touring duke 250 is good but not better, i mentioned not better because comfort for long ride is not that good. And Himalayan has unique ability , it's totally made for long ride and off road. So it really perform well in long drive , I mean it's atmost performance will explicit in highways. And Himalayan is the best comfort bike in that price segment. And off-road is also great. But in daily commute it perform well only if there is no traffic. If you stuck in extreme traffic Himalayan really make you mad , because of it's weight and shifting gear frequently is too hard for you , i suppose . In that case Himalayan is little bit sloppy. And i didn't know much about meteor , but as far as i know it's totally made for touring purpose so maybe it also sloppy for traffic scenarios. I think Himalayan is best choice but depending on your way of riding. But if you don't take long ride and don't want the comfort of pillion sheet i prefer duke 250 . Also if you go long ride and if you like off road and pillion sheet is important, Himalayan is the best choice . I didn't know much about meteor because I personally didn't like it's look so i donno about it's use . I think dominar 400 maybe suitable for you becausei heard about it it perform well at traffic and good for long journey . But i didn't like it's look also that's why I didn't much gather information about it . Check that bike out , maybe that bike is your's suitable bike, who knows
