It works well as a city commuter
It works well as a city commuter and is excellent for extended journeys.Excluding the prolonged sitting.the retro style really appealed to me, And since it performs so well, There is no need to be concerned about speeding. An interceptor in the 600+ cc market has very reasonable maintenance costs. After the initial service, General maintenance is required every 5k km and costs about 2500.Positives include a terrific tourer's beautiful appearance and an intuitive instrument cluster.Cons: the seat is uncomfortable for extended trips, And transferring the weight will be difficult.

- Royal Enfield had given its 650 twins a fresh set of colors and a few additional bits and bobs to spruce them up. While the changes are merely cosmetic, the asking price went up considerably. - Surprisingly, the Interceptor 650 feels less like a Royal Enfield and more like a 90’s Honda -- such is the refinement level and performance on offer. The motor is a gem with loads of torque from the get-go and a nice soundtrack accompanying it. Quality and fit and finish levels are quite good and the motorcycle feels built to last. This is easily the best Royal Enfield out there. Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is powered by a 648 cc Parallel-twin, 4-stroke, single overhead cam, air/oil-cooled engine. This Interceptor 650 engine generates a power of 47.65 PS @ 7150 rpm and a torque of 52 Nm @ 5250 rpm. Interceptor 650 is the most affordable multi-cylinder bike in India, Power delivery is linear and friendly but still exciting, Extremely refined. Moreover, we would suggest you to take a test ride before making the final decision. Follow the link and select your desired city for dealership.
- Personally I love the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650.Mine has completed 2 years and more than 6000kms.I haven't had any technical issues or problems except for taking to the Service Centre for it's Periodic Scheduled Maintenance. It's ride, handling, acceleration, braking are at par of what would have been expected of an original British Royal Enfield.Besides it's engine is superb and vibration free.It turns heads and you can be the proud owner of one.Would recommend for purchase.Hope this helps! Happy riding!
- Selecting the right bike would depend on several factors such as your budget preference on the segment, features required, engine options, brand preference, etc. Surprisingly, the Interceptor 650 feels less like a Royal Enfield and more like a 90’s Honda -- such is the refinement level and performance on offer. Interceptor is the most affordable multi-cylinder bike in India, Power delivery is linear and friendly but still exciting, Extremely refined. On the other hand, probably the most un-KTMish KTM of them all, the 250 Duke with its relaxed motor and comfy suspension is a great choice for those who aren’t looking to set lap records but want something quick and convenient for everyday use. KTM 250 Duke is powered by a 248.8 cc engine. This Duke 250 engine generates a power of 30 PS @ 9000 rpm and a torque of 24 Nm @ 7500 rpm. - The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 comes across as the most affordable multi-cylinder bike in India with linear and friendly power delivery. Surprisingly, the Interceptor 650 feels less like a Royal Enfield and more like a 90’s Honda -- such is the refinement level and performance on offer. The motor is a gem with loads of torque from the get-go and a nice soundtrack accompanying it. However, Royal Enfield could have offered alloy wheels as that will help owners in upgrading to tubeless tyres and speaking about tyres, the Interceptor could do with a better pair of shoes as the Pirelli Phantom SportComp aren’t up to the mark. While it isn’t a perfect motorcycle, the Interceptor will charm you with its easy-going nature, a wave of torque and refinement. In an increasingly digital world, it warms you with its analogue nature and rekindles the joy of motorcycling. As per your requirements, we'd suggest you to spend some time with the Interceptor and then move on to the bigger ones. - It is okay if the seat modification is done properly and most importantly not affecting your feet reach to ground which will cause handling problems.
- We would not recommend you to go for such modification and if you anyhow will do such changes then it may affect your bike's performance and handling.
- No you can’t 650 is much heavier bike , it can break n you will have serious consequences
- Selecting between the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Royal Enfield Meteor 350 would depend on certain factors such as your budget, preference of the segment, features required, ride quality, performance preference, etc. Both bikes belong to different segments and have different characteristics. If we talk about Meteor, the thump wrapped up in a refined, easy to ride, confident and practical package sounds just right. The lack of oil leaks or missing parts over our 800km stint makes the package more joyous. The healthy fuel efficiency, 10,000km oil-change intervals and 5000km/6 month service inspections make it more endearing. So, this Royal Enfield fulfills the promise made by the Thunderbird many years ago. However, the Meteor doesn’t make a bigger and bolder promise of its own by way of plush ride quality, a greater sense of richness or, crucially, better cruising ability. On the other hand, if we talk about Interceptor 650, with this pricing, Royal Enfield has delivered an exceptional value-for-money product like none other. Small issues, like no clear lens for the headlight or wide exhaust layout, or the narrow and soft seat, can be overlooked or fine-tuned. This is virtually half the price of the Harley Street 750 and it sits precariously close to the KTM 390 Duke, the Austrian being just four grand cheaper. Hence, with this pricing strategy, Royal Enfield is giving you a class product that seems to be built more solidly than anything it has ever produced. It is not as premium or modern in many aspects, but this motorcycle has brought back the joys of simple motorcycling - just what Royal Enfield set out to achieve. Do take a test ride in order to get better clarity. Check out authorised dealership details.D
- Bullet is single cylinder which gives “THUMP” Interceptor is twin cylinder with 270 degree crank firing which gives sweet “ RUMBLE “If your buying a bike for sound ....thump... buy bullet If for riding pleasure and quality engine buy interceptor
- The Interceptor 650 feels less like a Royal Enfield and more like a 90’s Honda -- such is the refinement level and performance on offer. The motor is a gem with loads of torque from the get go and a nice soundtrack accompanying it.
- This Interceptor 650 is hardly what you would call a light motorcycle, weighing 202kg without fuel (that puts the kerb weight estimate at 210kg). But the bike is surprisingly agile. While the handling is far from aggressive, the Interceptor is a bike that a lot of riders would enjoy on a winding mountain road.Read more- BS6 Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Real World Test.

- Yes, Right now iam facing this issue with my interceptor 650, and i taken my bike to RE service centre and the mechanics can't figure out whats the problem...they just unplugged the relay and cleans them and gives me the bike and told me the engine warning light was gone but when i start riding it just after 1-2kms the engine warning light reappears...and i taken back my bike to service centre again, this time they ordered gear sensor switch and told me to come back when they get the spare..now i'am waiting to get the spare, then only me and those showroom mechanics can check if its gear sensor switch problem or not. Does your problem solved sir? If yes whats the solution?

- The Interceptor 650 is a bike that makes you enjoy the ride, the scenery and has an aura of calmness which is very unique. On the move, the Interceptor 650 BS6 feels familiar as the wave of torque propels you with brilliant refinement. Throttle response is crisp and direct, however when we tested the new bike it was marginally slower than its predecessor. - Both Royal Enfield Himalayan and Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 are brilliant offerings with comfortable seating and powerful engine options, however, selecting one would depend on your preference of the segment, budget, features required, performance figures and usage of the bike. The Interceptor 650 comes equipped with a much refined engine that offers linear and friendly power delivery yet exciting to ride. Quality and fit and finish levels are quite good and the motorcycle feels built to last. This is easily the best Royal Enfield out there. Also, it is the most affordable bike in India with multi-cylinders. On the other hand, the Himalayan offers brilliant off-roading credentials, comfortable ergonomics for highway touring and city rides as well. For a better understanding of compatibility and riding comfort, we would suggest you to take a test ride. Follow the link and select your desired city for dealership details. - Interceptor is more apt . moreover meteor will the best one
- Royal Enfield is not offering any lowering kit for the Interceptor 650. Moreover, you may connect with the nearest authorized service center for more details on the same or you may also check out the aftermarket accessories. Follow the link and select your desired city for service centers.
- You can check with Way2speed shocker lowering kit .. it reduces the height by 1 inch .. with good heal shoes you’ll be able to plant your feet on the bike .. I am 5.7 and am using the shocker lowering kit too .. gives you confidence having both feet planted on the ground .. do some googling
- Hello my height is 5’3 i was very much struggling with my interceptor 650 height while riding i cant handle my bike in traffic is there any solution to lower the height of interceptor 650 pleasr do help
- Apart from the budget, both bikes belong to different segments and have different characteristics. You may compare both the bikes accordingly. Do take a test ride in order to get better clarity. Check out authorised dealership details.
- Int 650 will better. all the features of meteor will be available as options in the mean time.
- Service Warranty is valid only if your motorcycle is fitted with the stock exhaust. If you wish to change to an aftermarket exhaust you may do so after the warranty period.Hope this helps! Happy riding!
- Your warranty will lapse with after market exhaust After market exhaust are not road legal If you want to experiment you can with AEW exhaust with baffle once warranty period is over !
- Yes
- Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 features a saddle height of 804 mm and as per your requirements, handling the bike would be cumbersome. Moreover, the Interceptor 650 has a kerb weight of 202 kg which makes it a bit difficult to move the bike around in a parking lot. While the seat height isn’t ultra low, it’s quite easy to manage the bike since the seat is narrow. For a better understanding of compatibility and riding comfort, we would suggest you to take a test ride. Follow the link and select your desired city for dealership.
- Yes. But please test ride it as much you can and find the comfort.
- I am also 5.6 and owner of interceptor 650
- The seat height of Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is 804mm which could be comfortable for a 5.7ft tall person. Moreover, we'd recommend taking a test ride of the bike for a better insight into the performance, comfort, and compatibility. Follow the link for dealership details - Bike Showrooms.

- Exchange of a bike would depend on certain factors like brand, model, physical condition, kilometers are driven, no. of owners, and many more. In order to check for exchange offers and value, we recommend you to get in touch with the nearby dealership. You can click on the following link to see the details of the nearest dealership and selecting your city accordingly - Bike Showrooms.
- Yes contact with dealer for exchange. If your question is worth upgrading to INT 650 after using Thunderbird. I will recommend have test ride of Himalayan and decide.
- As of now, we have not come across to any such issues. However, we would suggest you to have a word with the service center about the number of cases they have revealed till now of the oil spill as they would be the better people to assist you better in this case. Follow the link for the service center details - Service Center.
- There have been no issues lately of oil spill in the Interceptor 650 and you won't face the problem of oil level decreasing.Happy riding!
- Not at all from engine side. May be from chain sprocket it may leak.
- It is advised not to ride at higher speeds before the first service or a certain amount of time as the engine takes time to get accustomed. The newly formed pistons and bore aren't at the best and require some time to smoothened out. Also, it is advised to ride the bike at lower RPMs. Doing so would result in better overall performance of the bike and better fuel efficiency returns.
- Myself i drove my INT 650 within 100 km/hr till 5000 km. I trust the engine should be seasoned in gradual way. May be conventional method. But my engine is refined compared with other INT 650
- I would recommend you stay at or below 4000 rpm, but don't lug the engine either. Between 2000 and 4000 is the limit. 4000 rpm means around 60 mph.
- The ABS light, generally, comes on when you start the bike initially and stays on for a while. The light turns off when you begin to ride the bike. Moreover, the light may come on while you brake hard. If the light stays on always, then it could be an issue with the ECU or the assembly and for that, we would suggest you to please connect with the nearest authorized service center.
- I left my GT 650 to the RE service station for this issue only, they kept the bike there for 10 days..checked wiring, cleaned, refitted each and every relay, connectors and what not. They did not find any fault in the RR unit. Today when took the bike after 10 long days..the same problem still persists. Wrote complaint to RE support team. Don’t know what happens next and how this life threatening issue will be rectified!!
- My Abs light has been staying on constantly after riding for a while. Seems like it's triggered by the heat. It would not come on during the winter months. But now that summer is here I have noticed the light come on and stay on, meaning there is abs fault, when I brake hard the abs is not activated, and rear wheel locks up. When I let the bike rest, cool down, the light goes off and abs works like normal.
- Interceptor 650 is quite easy to ride in city traffic. But to start riding a two wheeler with an Interceptor is not advisable.Have a month or two riding a lighter motorcycle before deciding for the Interceptor.Yes please wear proper riding boots.Hope this helps! Happy riding!
- For city traffic fine. As for as beginners not proper bike. Try himalayan.
- Noo
- Changing the exhaust pipes will not significantly reduce the heat radiation and it won't be worth the money spent. Hope this helps!
- As both the silencers AND the headers carry catalytic converters, the exhaust is choked down, therefore traps more heat than a freer breathing system like I've installed.
- Maybe because free flow exhaust heats comparatively less.
- Carrying out a modification to the fuel system entails risks like a fire explosion consequent to the replacement of the fuel tank.It is not advisable to do this.Hope this helps!
- Modification can be done. But it will not look fine.
- I would suggest you to buy 500 cc bullet
- As of now Royal Enfield does not supply or distribute straight installed exhaust pipes for the Interceptor 650.The saree guard is installed as a standard fitment.Hope this helps!
- Both not availble as genuine ascessories
- Both Not available
- No, the rim width is different, as well as the disk calipers of different make and model, high chances of not being a direct fit. The axel could be different as well. RE is bringing alloys for 650 twins next month as per the official email I received. Wait for few months at max to get proper alloys.
- Can install 18" alloy wheels. But not advisable as it can cause wobbling issues and handling difficulties.Hope this helps!
- Yes you can in after market Kindly see video of a guy from Mumbai RAD MOTO on you tube for all details
- There is a way big difference in the prices of both the bikes. Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is priced in the range of Rs. 2.64 - 2.85 Lakh(Ex-showroom price in Delhi) and Kawasaki Ninja 650 is priced at Rs. 5.89 Lakh(Ex-showroom price in Delhi). Apart from it, both bikes are of different segments too. If you are on a budget and looking for a bike with comfortable ride quality and should be enough for city commutes as well as highway long rides, you may go for Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. On the other hand, if you want a feature-loaded bike with better power performance and track-based dynamics, you may go for Kawasaki Ninja 650. You may compare both the bikes accordingly. Do take a test ride in order to get better clarity. Check out authorised dealership details.
- For racing ninja 650. for relaxed long tour interceptor
- Both are different. Ninja is good
- It wouldn't be advisable to push start a heavy motorcycle weighing in excess of 200kgs.It will take a really strong person to gain the momentum for the start and there is a danger of a fall. The best option is to keep the battery charged by running in idle for 10-15 minutes every 7-10 days.Replace the battery life very two years with a new battery.Hope this helps! Happy riding!
- Rider should be on the seat. Third party should push the bike . Engage 2nd gear cranking. But if the battery is 80 % dead fuel injectors, Brake sensors will not function.
- Considering it’s weight jump start is diff task unless your bike is on slope or your pushing it with other bike
- As of now, we haven't got any update from the brand officially regarding any change in the bike.
- Improvements will happen. No model change
- If your Interceptor 650 was serviced and you hear it is a loud noise from the tappets request to revisit the service station and have the valve tappet clearance checked and readjusted.Hope this helps! Happy riding!
- No , on my bike i am not getting any noice.
- We can increase width by twenty units on rear tyre but by increasing it on front we compromise on the stability & wet riding is difficult & fuel economy comes down last but not the least handle bar becomes heavy by increasing width so people avoid it on front tyre
- Hi I am very sorry to inform you, the company has done a very small amount of R&D on the tyre section. The tyres are slippery as hell, They have given Ceat bike tyres which are the worst. The Compound is very poor quality.
- It should be as it is . Company would have done research and would have come to conclusion so we should not change any of original fittings.
- But, it is a performance bike, with 2 cylinders and even at average speed 60-80kmph the engine heats up pretty fact (I'm not talking about insane rev, even at normal rev). You mean to say for a 1000km journey, I have to stop the bike at even 30kms for about 1hr so the engine can cool down? I'm loosing the pleasure of riding when hearing the tik tik noise. Especially when standing in traffic at idle rpm it sounds like there is something crumbling in the engine head.
- Yeah it also comes for me I had asked them ,they said it’s due to heat produced in engine it stops after engine becomes cool and they said it’s not a problem
- It’s not problem it’s due to the heat produced in engine it will not come after the engine cools down
- You would need to contact Sahara Seats or a nearby vendor who can customize a seat for you. Sahara Seats have some readymade seats.
- Resetting both the front & rear suspensions. Not sure technically what would be the impact. Also by reducing saddle height.
- Resetting both the front & rear suspensions. Not sure technically what would be the impact. Also by reducing saddle height.
- Yes the Royal Erado Interceptor Alloy Wheels are of good quality and tubeless tyres can be installed on them.Except they are heavier than the original spoke wheels.Hope this helps.Happy riding!
- The royal erado alloys are good plus they are you rated alloys means it has a speed rating of 200Km/hr so its quiet safe to use.i too ordered one
- Company has not come out as of now, Off Market may be avilable.
- The Interceptor 650 is the heavier of the two with a kerb weight of 202 kgs(no fuel) and the Continental GT 650 has a kerb weight of 198kgs(no fuel). Hope this helps! Happy riding!
- INT 650 202 kg & GT 650 198 KG
- BS 6 interceptor comes with ceat tyres Which r tube N you can’t covert to tubeless even in aftermarket Sad part ! Bs4 model had Pirelli sports Comp tyres which could be converted to tubless in after market
- INT 650 comes with piralli tubeless tyre. But fitted in spoke rim so comes with tube in it. If you change to alloy wheel the same tyre can be fitted
- It comes with Tubeless tyres only
- I own a Continent GT 650 BS6 and I too have that tik tik noise...it starts as soon as I start up the bike....within 20 secs it starts...my bike has nearly crossed 1400 kms and this is very disappointing cause it's a new bike...took it to the service center...they did a 'Tappet Adjustment'. After that the noise has doubled and the service center guys say it's normal! Hain? Normal? IT Definitely isn't normal that damn sound. Didn't expect all this from a supposed 'Premium' bike. Also the nuts on handle bar on the horn side below it has rusted already. I had just a single wash that's it. What the hell is going on? I am so disappointed man meri new bike aisa kar Rahi hai...pls pls pls someone suggest what should I do? I think I have received a faulty bike for sure. If not then I am go hard on these service center guys now...Company ne bike release to krdi but no training has been given to the service center guys. They aren't trained enough for sure. Pls someone suggest me something what should I do. I request all my bros reading this comment...I hope you understand my situation :(
- Same issue, but mine started from day 1, at first I thought the valves might need some getting used to kinda situation. But after 2 days, when the engine was driven for about 5-10mins and when the engine heat start to build up the sound became louder. I have had few ceased my yamaha FZ-S a couple of times to know when the sound of the engine is not right. tik tik sound in the values in such a performance bike is not acceptable. Imagine riding the bike at top speed, in highways obviously, and suddenly the valves act up. Once my fz's timing change broke loose from its socket as it was not screwed in properly and this was at 80kmph. What if same thing happens?Same response from the service center, this is normal sound, they are checking for sound difference using some instrument to measure decibels.I've never had satisfactory service for my fz, my cars and now 650 twin. I can accept yamaha or skoda as I only approched the authorized service center never expected such no skill or knowledge service from RE directly.
- Please warm up the engine 3-5 minutes before moving. The noise may be coming from the valves not getting the proper lubrication. The noise should come down to normal level after warm up.If it still does produce that noise take to service center for a valve clearance recheck.Hope this helps! Happy riding!
- At present no production & Booking due nation lockdown for covid19. After country resuming to normal wating period may be 60 days.
- I ordered the interceptor mark 2 on November of 2020 and still I didn't get my bike....... it might take more than 9 months.
- Hyderabad waiting period is about 2 - 3 months normally. But don't have correct idea because of lockdown right now.
- Dealers normally don't allow you to swap the standard seat with the touring seat. But you can try.
- You have to purchase the touring seat separately.Exchange of seat is not allowed.
- Exchange not possible. But you can avail discount till 15% for new seat.
- The Interceptor 650 is a reliable bike and is suitable for long rides with a fuel economy of 25-30kms/ltr.But the only requirement is to keep the battery in a charged condition by running the engine in idle for 10-15 minutes every 7-10days.So you are good to start your ride whenever you want to.Hope this helps! Happy riding!
- Int650 is very good bike. You would certainly enjoy. Also consider that a 650 cc bike is available at this price point. Awesome. You will get fuel economy of about 26 - 32 depends on city / highway ride & your riding style. Now you need to take a call whether you want to consider this as reasonable or no.Bike is certainly worth it & exciting too.
- I will suggest Himalayan instead of INT 650 . Himalayan is good for long drive & Off roading , Mileage is better than INT 650. I am sure the new Himalayan will thrill more than INT 650. Please go for intense test ride before arriving decision
- In town 22- 24 KMPL , Highways till 100 KM/HR 29 KMPL. - 32 KMPL . Quick acceleration, short bursts, Frequent braking, within town then 16 - 18 KMPL.Highways till 120 KM/HR 22 KMPL. - 24 KMPL
- 25 -26 it entirely depends on how you ride
- Perfect reply. Awesome. :-)
- I do not advice any modifications . As company would have done research and come to conclusion which is best for the vehicle
- INT 650 BS 6 catalytic converter is place in bend pipe Plus You can go for after market silencer also
- I guess ....so
- Add you'll need to remove the secondary air system and use a fuel management system. You will NOT gain performance by swapping out headers or replacing them. Everything is a trade off.
- Sorry INT 650 BS 6 catalytic converter is not placed in the bend pipe.
- No INT 650 BS 6 catalytic converter is place in bend pipe
- TVs star city plus ...very good bike for daily rides and good mileage
- Pluser 150 , Honda shine
- Honda CB Unicorn
- 650cc Himalayan ...is not yet confirmed as due to the frame is not yet properly designed
- RE is expected to launch Himalayan 250 CC in late 2020
- RE is expected to launch Himalayan 250 CC in late 2020
- No the BS6 engine doesn't reduce the performance or the exhaust note.In fact it has a better note than the BS4 model.Hope this helps! Happy riding!
- Yes no doubt . Extra catalytic converter is fixed in exhaust of BS 6 RE 650. BS 6 has negligible power & Torque loss compared to its predecessor.
- Yes
- There is no significant difference between BS4 and BS6 in terms of power, acceleration, exhaust note, economy except in terms of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide and sulphur dioxide emissions which are in more stringent (lower) acceptable limits.Hope this helps! Happy riding!
- BS 6 adopts with , Minimum pollution , Direct injection system , Minimum exhaust noise ,
- Only emission ,bs6 may loss 1 % on acceleration .
- With respect to your height I may say that you may be able to roll the bike seated with your toes. Please do always wear boots. But on rough surfaces and bit slopy surfaces it will be quite difficult as my height is 5ft 11inches and I ride an Interceptor.Best to have a test ride and then find out!Hope this helps! Happy riding!
- Yes ..put insole in your riding boots..adjust handle bars foot pegs ..in the showroom.see if you can plant a tip of toe..you can ride.
- 5..4 ok with boots . Test drive and find the comfort
- You have a perfect height to handle INT 650. Then mileage around 27 KMPL & 210 Kg weight should not bother you. Plus front suspension & Rear ABS area below average. The best part is powerful engine mounted in a average built quality bike. Look wise great retro look. One thing you will forget all flaws when you ride it. May be in BS 6 all these issue should have been addressed by RE. No bike available in that price bracket. Most important it is not a zero vibration bike. You can feel vibration in side tank , Foot pegs.
- I am 5'11 too and find the bike very comfortable. In fact shorter riders may have trouble due to the 804mm seat height and the long reach to the handlebars. Besides the footpegs get in the way when you put your feet down so long legs will help a bit in overcoming that too. There is no other bike in this category in this price bracket. The nearest would be a Triumph which costs almost 3 times as much!
- Don't take bro...recently i hv sold my conti gt 650,,,,engine will roast like you hell in summer season, wrist pain, pelvi pain due to seat thickness is lyk very poor,,,thigh support poor,,,i am having riding experience of 15 year,,,bhai save your money royal ke naam pe idiotic design dete...means lyk riding comfort metror 350 is hv great...
- The BS6 version of Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is already available in the market.Happy riding!
- By next year January can extend to april
- We can expect in launch in jan 2020
- That's a good choice, You need to be wary about the Seat and lights of RE. There are a ton of aftermarket accessories for these. Just pick one of them and you should be fine. If you have owned a RE in the past, none of these matter. But looks like you are not.
- Surely Interceptor is good choice. But negative is it's little less comfortable for city rides. If you have lots of city rides i suggest you try Dominar 400 once.Int 650 is vibes free for sure & good choice.D400 is practical choice.
- You should to buy interceptor to ride of reading on roading an existing real climbing mountain climbing 100 most powerful bike in India
- I own a classic 350 sliver for more than 5 years which clocked around 60k + kms. so I'm looking for a powerful upgrade this year when this pandemic ends. I love the lower acceleration in RE 350. but I'm missing the middle and top end acceleration so I want a bike which satisfies my riding fantasies. I'm a broad shouldered and tall person. so I'm looking for a beefy muscled up vehicle with good allrounding acceleration performance, durable and value for money like INT 650. Thanks for the suggestion sanjay.Have a happy riding!!
- Both the sports bike and the RE Interceptor 650 are suitable for your height.Depends whether you want fast speeds and faster rate of acceleration which is in a sports bike or a Retro Bike which can consistently ride at 120-140 km/hr with quite good acceleration like the Interceptor 650.Hope this helps! Happy riding!
- Rather than INT 650 I have RR 310 because of its panigale looks. I feel like 390 is not beefy in size and suit my broad physic. But will give a try on that for sure. Thank you.
- The Interceptor 650 can be used for adventure touring except for the following conditions:1.Being a tube type tyre a correct tyre pressure is very important to prevent a puncture.2.The tyres are not suitable for muddy roads because it meanders in mud and what if the bike falls it is impossible to push the bike through the mud.3.Keep the battery in best charged condition always as it doesn't have a kick starter.Hope this helps! Happy riding!
- Himalayan is best for touring because of excellent suspension setup & Brakes. . INT 650 has a weak front suspension & worst Rear Brake which acts like drum brake not ABS (Un-trustable rear brake). Plus it cannot handle very rough roads . Priority pillion rider cannot be accommodated for touring. INT 650 has a powerful engine & Gearbox mounted Retro looking in a inferior quality components filled bike. It will thrill you in short bursts & Rides in good roads.
- Nope. Its a pure street bike with limited travel suspensions. You may want to consider something like the Triumph Tiger. The upcoming KTM 390 Adventure will also be a good option if you are looking for something slightly cheaper.
- Do you want to know whether it has an internal expanding drum brakes or a caliper disc brakes ?,if so the Interceptor has Disc brakes on both the wheels,
- Axial caliper mounting
- Radial
- Maximum 30 days
- As of now not much may be 30 days
- Contact dealer in Dhule
- I will suggest you to use normal petrol because the compression ratio of this is 9.2 you should use power petrol for bikes which have compression ratio more than 11 (eg. Duke 390) . If you use power petrol in this bike the engine life will be damaged as hell.
- Yes power petrol will give more mileage than standard petrol.Happy riding!
- Yes i am using power/Speed petrol it has increase in 10% mileage
- Six (One down rest up)
- 6 (Six)
- 6 g
- Maximum 30 days
- One week
- Dzire
- The difference between 10w40 and 10w50 is how thin the oil gets when it's hot, 10w50 oil won't thin out as quickly as 10w40 when oil temperature goes up, but it also might be too thick during regular running in cold temperatures.
- Company recommends 10W50, which is freely available. Don't use different grades. It can s***w up your engine.
- Never try that. It would spoil your engine very fast.
- I would suggest a wrap on the tank as you require. So this is not a permanent setting.
- Please enquire at a Royal Enfield dealer.Hope this helps! Happy riding!
- If you wish you can. Customization can be done in INT 650
- Please purchase the BS 6 Interceptor. They have made a significant improvement over the BS4 model. The engine is smoother, the acceleration better, exhaust note beautiful and suspension great. The average fuel economy has improved.Hope this helps! Happy riding!
- BS6 would generate more heat as the BS6 Exhaust would have bigger Cat converter. But would emit even lesser Co2.
- Bs4 is the best option ...and when bs6 comes..bs4 will be stopped and bs4 is better compared to bs6
- Yes. It does as its a Twin with higher capacity
- Yes but as you start riding it, you won't feel the heat
- Yes it's way more hot than classic 500
- I loved the power, smoothness, the 6 speed gearbox, and the narrow comfortable seat. Here in Austin, all the traffic signals are very long. The wide footpegs would cause much pain after a short while. I prefer the pegs in front of my ankles,so when you release the clutch, it makes sense to put ones feet forward while underway.
- Foot pegs can be but not sure about Gear shift. BOth have same frame but not sure.
- Before I rode one yesterday, I watched a video from a Gentleman from India. He was correct, R.E. built a wonderful bike, but forgot that a human has to ride it ! LOL
- Rs.15,000 price has increased in INT 650 . Now no BS 4 model only BS 6
- I am not aware on this.
- No the price is increased
- Request you to enquire directly from the Interceptor 650 dealerships in Chennai.Happy Riding!
- Maximum 1 week for normal colors . Chrome will take more than a month
- Now it's 3 months
- BS 6 is going to launch. May be alloy wheels , LED head lamp as new features
- Not that I know of. except that you are considering BS6 as new version.
- I am not aware on this . No information also
- FZ 25 is designed more for city ride & less more touring. Thus suspension is designed for bad / rough road. Int 650 is designed more for touring & thus good for highway - good roads. It can take rough roads to an extent but generally more tuned for touring.
- Suspension of RE Interceptor 650 has had a significant improvement over the older batch production. It could be now better than the FZ25 suspension.
- No FZ is better than INT 650
- Its about Average. You may need to enhance it for the highways. I avoid riding at night.
- Very average brightness. Not good in highways.
- Much better than others bikes.
- Very fine .I have installed two saddle bag on left and right side which were purchased from out market.i am very satisfied.
- Till date no option for saddle bag
- When bike is meant for cruising and to go beyond limits then why hold? I think bike will be very comfortable below 80-90 km/hr till 500 kms.
- Myself did not cross 90 km mark till 2500/km. I thought to season the engine in conventional way.
- I think the company recommends a max of 70 kmph and 3500 rpm in the first 500 kms.
- Ideally you should not ride any motorcycle wearing slippers. Many reasons for this, but the most important is that your feet are exposed to stones and other objects thrown up by the front wheel and also by other vehicles. So its always recommended to wear footwear that cover your ankles for best protection. Interceptor being a heavy motorcycle, its becomes even more important to wear shoes while riding. In the unfortunate event of a fall, if you re wearing shoes it will protect your feet and ankles much better than slippers. Also while putting your feet down while in stop and go traffic, slippers can actually slip and cause a fall. Since we graduated from cycles to mopeds to motorcycles, we don't think much of protection needed while riding. But bikes like interceptor are big and heavy and run really hot. So shoes are a must if you are conscious about your safety.
- You can wear slippers if its just under 5 km like going for grocery... its fine no need worry about wearing boot just to go near by store.. and on the other hand if your trip is extended and once your engine is heated then slippers won't be enough..
- Definitely shoe or Boot is the best riding pattern & Safety for INT 650. But till date i am riding my INT 650 wearing slippers only.
- Motorcycles are inherently dangerous. When the bikes get bigger, they are more like cars on 2 wheels which makes it even more dangerous, with the engine heat, weight, power and speed, all contributing to the danger element. Riding a motorcycle is fun provided you take the necessary precautions, and riding gear is what you start with. Bottom line.. Good Shoes which cover the ankle, helmet and gloves are absolutely necessary. Anything additional is added protection. Don't compromise on safety. Be a responsible rider.
- Dear Arun, It is not at all a good idea to ride with slippers although it is possible,For your own safety I advise you to ride with proper riding gear to protect yourself.
- No not at all. Firstly it is against traffic rules, secondly danger of slipping in case of emergency braking and chances for burning of your foot with hot silencer.
- I too am 5' 6'. I can ride comfortably. Only thing is it's a heavy bike . While riding , the weight is not fely but while parking or removing from stand , you feel the weight.
- Yes you can ride the Interceptor quite comfortably. Please do always wear boots or at least shoes.Hope this helps! Happy riding!
- It will be perfect, though the seat height is 804 mm and the foot rests get in the way when you put your feet down.
- If you want something with more power and speed you should buy something with more power and speed. The Interceptor is far from sluggish, of course you could do things to it to make it more powerful and faster - but that would cost money. Why not just buy something faster to start with if 100mph isn't good enough for you?
- I do not find Int 650 sluggish. At this price point , it's good power. Of course you can increase your budget by double + and you get more pwerful bikes.
- Performance of INT 650 is definitely not sluggish . Still performance can be increased more by , Changing Exhausts , Air filter , Remapping ECU
- Since you already mentioned interceptor 650, are you looking at anything else? If yes your best bet would be a dominar 400, it's got really good vfm .also cheaper than the 650 and easy on maintenance.
- You can go for Dominar as well if your usage is mostly commute and occasionally tour
- In my opinion the dominar has higer vibrations and not as controlling of re
- Yes dual seat can be fixed in INT 650 but classic 350 cant be fixed
- You can try
- Nopes
- In a good high way as single rider, we can cruise at 80-100 and 100-110 with aftermarket windshield ( supported by good day light). Above 110kmph wind blast will start to annoy. Above 140 handle will start to wobble. It can easily take to 160+ without effort but not at all recommended on safety concerns. For better cruising and mileage experience keep 100-120 kmph. If the engine is well tuned and maintained we can expect mileage 29-32kmpl which is very good for this power range.
- Safe cruising speed in till max 120 km/hr if the road is free with good visibility. you cruise continuous for a hour also. The bike can speed more the 140 km/hr not at all advisable. Use helmet & Riding jacket etc.
- 0n interstates 70 to 80 mph is easily maintained. Of course at 70 mph your mileage is in the high 50s and at 80 mph your mileage is in the high 40s. Crusing in the 60s mph will achieve mid 60s mpg. It is a one up tourer and a magnificent twisties machine. A totally enjoyable ride.
- No not at all advisable. The foot pegs/Rest are elevated .The engine power , Braking will imbalance the pillion rider and affect the rider. Every time we should caution the pillion rider about the dual exhausts before he sits.We should be very careful with the silencer/Exhausts because in seconds it will burn our foot , Knuckle & calf . Moreover INT 650 is not comfortable for pillion rider. If so then pillion rider should wear full boots .
- You don't have parents or wife girlfriend or friends maybe you live on Mars because you ride alone But usually human being lives with other human being so understand bike sucks in that design
- I would suggest not carry a lady pillion rider on an Interceptor. As the footpegs are placed quite high and one can't comfortably place both feet on one peg.Hope this helps!
- It doesn't matter what number is but it's important to understand the main grade which is API and JASO secondly when you say 20w50 and 10w50 then it's a matter of temperature withstand capacity. Main thing in any engine oil when you switch then when you are using mineral then you can jump to semi synth or fully synth oil but you can't down grade or you should not down grade from fully to semi or from semi to mineral. Semi and fully is with lots of chemicals and specifically made inside the lab. Mineral oil has chemicals but very less and amount to is less. So switching to 10/50 is no issue or switching to any other grade also not an issue provided you have to understand your location. Since those numbers are important when your location is colder side or hotter side. You can switch to 10/50 but make sure if early oil is semi or fully then you have to use the same type. All though company recommend 10/50 but that's ok for Europe and North America or Canada since weather is always colder side but for India you can go up to 20/50 right from 10/50 or 15/50 or 20/50. In semi and fully synth chemical formation on engine spares are like film so when you pour mineral then that oil has basic chemicals which can't properly lubricate internal spares. So you may feel. Some roughness. There will be no filming of Mineral oil on any internal spares on which semi or fully synth oil filming is there. It's always best to use HIGHER API and JASO.. I hope this sort out your query. Thanks
- Normally it should be changed at 10000 Kms , but depends upon your usage of Bike, if you feel around 7000 or 8000 kms bike engine has more vibration or making more noise and gear shifting is change than the viscosity of oil can be the reason too. So depends upon your riding method. But RE suggests for Interceptor/GT 650 oil change at 10000 Kms with 10w50 Full Synthetic Oil
- 10w50 is the recommended Oil (Full Synthetic), as you have already used 20w50, I would suggest change it to company recommended standards cause it will/may harm/void your bike Warranty also.
- INT 650 is least vibration bike in RE stable but not zero vibration bike. Good for touring with altered seat. But wait for couple months so RE has to sort out , Value noise & Clattering noise in INT 650. The front suspension & T-Steam is not strong enough for that bike.Pl wait for the updated version. RE might recall INT 650 for a massive part change campaign.
- KTM 390 may not be the right choice because for it's a 379.9 CC sport bike. It's power is high and would not be comfortable for two passengers.interceptor 650 will be the right choice.. Because it's bit heavy and not so naked as KTM390.so it's power can be controlled by the rider. Also it provides more mileage than KTM 390.
- Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is good one for single rider . Pillion rider will be uncomfortable because on it elevated foot pegs. My suggestion Himalayan is good choice. KTM Duke is different segment who needs more speed. it is not for pleasant riding.Pl do test ride together intensively INT 650 & Himalayan to conclude.
- Yes boy ,, i am 5.4in a d driving interceptor with ease. I am sure you will not ride any other bike after INT 650
- Myself 5.9 tall & 77 kg . i able to handle INT 650 with ease
- Intercepter 650 is a better machine.
- Yes it can be done with after market exhaust and custom bend pipe or a full system exhaust
- May be alteration possible but why to do so. It will viod warranty
- Can we change royal enfield next generation classic 350 silencer pipe remove then add continetal GT 650 silencer for good sound
- My reason is that I was looking for a multi-cylinder motorcycle and this offered the best value for money among all that were available. The next alternative was almost twice as expensive, so the choice was easy. Besides, this does not have the bullet DNA. This is a motorcycle that is designed fresh and build new from the ground up, with considerable contribution from RE UK and also Harris performance. Also has the latest tech like FE, Slipper Clutch and dual channel ABS. Cant ask for more at this price.
- I will answer in my point of view . Why i purchased INT 650 because very good indigenous manufactured retro styled , performance bike with fair mileage & Cost efficient maintenance package he best service network. Plus i cant afford even basic versions Harley Davidson , Ducati , BMW .
- Super build quality, very good handling, even in city traffic, and at an unbeatable price! It's up there with the great super bikes!
- Your height is perfect! You can ride comfortably.Happy riding!
- It is an amazing piece, above 5'5 can ride it easily.
- Thank you for your valuable reply
- Its around 2700 which includes the cost of 3.5L engine oil and the oil filter. If you have any other parts to be replaced it will be more.
- 2800 OR LESS ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE CENTRE AT DIFFERENT REGIONS
- Rs.2700 for 1st service .
- Yes you can, The seats of the Conti and the Interceptor are interchangeable.
- Yes GT 650 touring seat will fit perfectly in INT 650 .
- Yes.
- The problem was found in initial batch. It was more related to software and not hardware. This was subsequently addressed. So no problem in new supplies. And in old - they are adjusting the software.
- Software has been updated in INT 650 so altitude problem
- Noo. all those problem rectified with software wayback in 2019
- Well we own one.. and i am the pillion.. the answer is no. The foot pegs are too high might strain a muscle and while you get down you are sure to get a silencer burn. If you are 5.5 ft you will be easy to get down but the ride wont be comfortable if you are less then that ... getting on the bike will be a struggle which will make your journey worser. Anyways it wont be good until you make some mods... even after that its far fetched.. its simple ride alone.
- Any pillion rider cannot be seated comfortably sidewise.Length of seat is bit less and narrow as well as the position of the footpeg is high and at an awkward angle.Hope this helps! Happy riding!
- No not at all advisable. The foot pegs/Rest are elevated .The engine power , Braking will imbalance the pillion rider and affect the rider. We should be very carful with the silencer/Exhausts in seconds it will burn our legs . Moreover INT 650 is not comfortable for pillion ride more 5.5 ft height.
- Hi, being an old thunderbird user u might know everything about the engine of that beast. still if u feel u wana continue using the same then thunderbird 500X is apt. However, if u wana try another than a crusier model, den Himalayan is a best pick for all round commute. Interceptor is a much more modern big which is ment for sporty styling and speed which cannot come in handy for crusier user. I feel it's better if u go for a test drive and select the one which suits you
- After Classic 500 - natural upgrade is Int650. Much superior product in terms of technology. Only thing which you may not comfortable with - is seating. It's slightly more aggresive. Pls take a trial & decide. But remeber - TB 500 is not being upgraded to BS 6. Decide immediately.
- Intercepter 650.
- Hi i have interceptor 650 orange crush and i have done with the 3rd service today and it costs me 2400 INR that includes Engine oil and oil filter. Other things were in good condition. It took only 1.5 hours to complete the service. Note: Second service cost was zero.
- My vehicle is not due for the second service yet but I would expect to replace my brake pads by that time besides the engine oil and oil filter. Keep aside about Rs 5500 to 6000 for the second service, due at 10K kms.
- Second service is at 5000 km, and is just a check over, quite cheap. No oil change. Third service at 10,000 is oil change, check tappets etc.
- Absolutely. You may just need to alter the handlebars a bit or install risers to make the posture a bit upright. Stock position is too much lean forward.
- OF COURSE SIR JUST DO A TEST DRIVE I AM SURE YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED,ALL THE BEST :)
- I am 57 & using it. :-)
- It's 3 years.
- The warranty is for 3years/40,000 Kms which ever is earlier
- 3 years/unlimited mileage at least here in the U.S.
- Pillion rider Comfort level is poor because of elevated foot pegs. Moreover INT 650 is not comfortable for pillion rider. If so then pillion rider should wear boots beaue of elevated exhausts . Short rides ok
- Short rides, maybe. Long rides...Certainly not with the stock seat and foot pegs. While you will be able to modify the seat, there is little you can do about the rear footrests due to the up-swept exhausts.
- Stock bike is not Comfortable Need some modification Change of rear foot peg position Change of seat with better coushiningAnd after market rear seat back rest With this three changes an average built person should be comfortable
- Same performance but different riding postures.GT looks more like a cafe racer which obviously is one and has a simple sporty riding posture ,But INT has a straight line posture which makes them more comfortable in busy roads and traffics ad of course in highways(wind blast will be a problem but can be handled)
- Both are same in terms of performance. INT 650 has upright riding position. GT 650 has a bend riding position in corners & Curves it handles well. For long term usage INT 650 is the best choice
- Its a matter of personal preference. Performance is the same. The difference is in riding posture mainly.
- Wired, and its a bit hard too.
- Wired.
- Wired..slipper assist clutch
- Welcome to the club. First the Pros:1. Lovely engine. Its very relaxed and feels like it would last a really long time. Had decent amount of usable power, though 47 BHP is not much on paper2. Nice brakes with ABS. Front offers great stopping power3. Latest tech like fuel injection and slipper clutch4. 10K kms service interval5. Excellent Value for MoneyCons:1. Uncomfortable seat2. Average Headlight3. Foot rest gets in the way when you put your foot down, so its a pain riding in stop and go traffic4. Uncomfortable for pillion 5 And the biggest. Has tubed tyres, so if you have a flat, it can be a nightmare.
- Plus of INT 650 engine is excellent power & pickup is outstanding , Mileage is satisfactory 27 KMPL , Good braking , Foot peg issue will vanish when you start using it. Minus of INT 650 , No led head lamp , T-Stem noise is there , Chain gets dry within 200 km , Fuel gauge error , Seat is uncomfortable in long rides , Wheel rim gets bends frequently , 1st gear always make kutak sound, Value noise arises after 5000 km (Warranty is there) still , Minor vibrations are there All these these vanish if you ride INT 650 . May be RE might rectify these issues
- Plus points :1. Price2. Refined engine3. No Vibration4. Amazing power5. Looks6. Maintenance cost7. Build quality Negative points:1. Weight 2. No tubeless tyres 3. Seating height 4. Heating slightly Conclusion : it is a fabulous bike, I love to use it on day to day basis for going to office. Simply awesome bike. Lastly ride safe
- After riding an Apache RTR 160 it will be easy to ride the Interceptor 650 which will be more comfortable than the Continental for your 30kms daily commute. Why I am saying because I ride my Interceptor to office in heavy traffic.Hope this helps! Happy riding!
- For daily commute, I would suggest interceptor 650 due to riding ergonomics. GT 650 has a bit sportier riding position which may not be very comfortable for a daily 30KM ride. I have been using my Interceptor 650 for daily commute and its very comfortable and quite powerful.
- I suggest you test ride both and decide. For older riders, the interceptor works better. GT has a very committed riding posture.
- No bro old one had full metal build which is terribly strong .. i think you are saying about the bs4 variant pumps thay are substanderd plastics mainly the pump nozzle
- Yes definitely. My classic DS' fuel pump failed thrice under running of 8000 km. Very sad.
- NO,GOOD QUALITY BUILD MATERIALS ARE USED IN THE BIKE
- You can purchase the Royal Enfield Chain Cleaner and Chain Lubricant spray or you can even try a much reputed company Motul Chain Cleaner and Chain Lubricant Spray.Motul is available in Amazon.Hope this hrlps.Happy riding!
- Well, You could buy the one that RE sells, which is made by a brand called Glosil, Or go for Motul. Both of these are priced at around Rs 500 for a 500 ml can..
- I am using Motul chain cleaner & L**e each 400 ml. cost Rs.850. Every 200 km - 300 km the chain should Cleaned & Lubed.
- Any high speed bike needs awesome quality tyres, And the Company default tyres are around 6K and 4K for both tyre replacement. Mine lasted 12K and could have run another 3K easily, But needed a Bigger even better road grip and Hence changed.
- I have clocked 5500 km in my INT 650. It is a Pirelli tubeless tyre because it is spokes rim company has provide tube in it . If you upgrade to alloy just we can fit the tyre. Tyre quality is fair . My assumption is maximum 20,000 km tyre life. That too in good driving conditions without off roading activities. 4 years warranty is there so don't worry about parts company will take care.
- Ran 10k with stock Ceat tyres. Good grip on the dry. Fair on the wet. Front looked like it could clock another thousand more. Rear was toast. Replaced them with the same brand for about 6.5k. Ride a bit in the city with a pillion. I’m assuming that to be the reason for the rear dying out sooner.
- Yes i have INT 650 . I have driven maximum 280 km in a day around neighboring towns. I did feel any strain at end of the day.Still i have not toured in my INT 650 . Next month i am planning 5 day tour to Kerala. Mileage in town driving i get 25 KMPL. In highways till 80 KM/HR i get 28 KMPL - 30 KMPL. If you burst the throttle crossing 100 KM/HR then the mileage will be 20 KMPL - 22 KMPL. I have clocked 5500 km in my INT 650.
- You will need to modify the seat and handlebar(perhaps add a set of risers) to make it comfortable for touring. Mileage, you could expect around 24-25 kpl.
- Hi Jithu, I own an Interceptor. Yes it is comfortable for touring and has a very good cruising capability. It's actually quite effortless to ride. Mileage on the highway I'm not too sure, but I know I'm getting around 25km/l in my rides around the city.
- For daily city commute you can expect 20-25kms mileage.Yes most of the parts are available easily! If one Service Center doesn't have the particular part they may guide you to another Service Center.Hope this helps.Happy riding!
- See basically its a 650cc modern classic, we cant compare it with any 150-250cc commuters. I ll say you should not look at it as your daily commuter if mileage is your only concern. Rest if you want the thrill of riding its unbeatable at this price point. I frankly never have calculated the mileage but mostly it wont be more than 18-20kmpl.
- I HAVE calculated mileage, and I have done over 7000 km. I get ~ 3.8 litres per 100 km, which is about 26 km per litre.
- If its Rough terrain then its Himalayan. If you are a collage boy then Duke, If you have too much money to spend and don't know how to spend then Dominar. If you are a Muscle Man then INterceptor
- Go for Dominar or Duke 390.
- Himalayan & Interceptor
- I have driven maximum 280 km in a day around neighboring towns. I did feel any strain at end of the day.Still i have not toured in my INT 650 . Next month i am planning 5 day tour to Kerala.
- Yes , comfortable.
- Yes
- The Continental GT 650 is a Cafe Racer with its more aggressive seating position (leaning forward) which can cause back aches making it not suitable for long rides. The Interceptor 650 is a Modern Classic bike which is a more upright comfortable seating position making it suitable for long rides.Hope this helps! Happy riding!
- I have a Classic 500 and an Interceptor, and I also ride 40km daily. For my daily commute, the Classic 500 is actually superior, due to better fuel economy. Interceptor is much better for long distance riding. If you only commute, I'd keep the 350.
- INT 650 is good because of upright handle bar position. Same engine & Gearbox , Suspension setup. Expect tank & Handle bar all are same. I will recommend INT 650
- In case of interceptor you will only feel the foot pegs only for a week then you will definitely get used to it ....and consider the fact that your getting a premium bike a 650 segment for a price point of 3L .....dominar is also good ...but interceptor is way better
- Interceptor all the way..
- Not an issue.
- Apologize to say that the Interceptor 650 is not suitable for family.A pillion rider may be seated in a normal position but not sidewise.Hope this helps.Happy riding!
- Not exactly . Because children or elders should be very cautious while sitting . The exhaust & Engine will be hot king .It will cook the legs instantly .
- Not really.
- Today I'm struck here at a village in Imphal, Manipur at 0730 AM, waiting for the RSA to arrive. Nothing can be more painful when you spend around 3 lakh rupees on a product and it makes you regret your decision of buying it just after 3 months. My interceptor 650 has developed starting problems due to a faulty Relay Circute of fuel pump as I was told by Sanemahi Service Center at Imphal when rectifying the same problem yesterday. Poor workmanship and poor service by RE. Avoid purchasing the product if you can.
- Interceptor already has started showing starting issues. Battery draining within 5 days of non usage.
- There is improvement in the self start, no problem has arised as if now..
- I think no
- No brother . 6.2flar rate of interest
- No idea pl contact bankers.
- Well age is not a issue because will vanish if your reflex is fine . Because some times you have to take spontaneous decision . INT 650 is powerful engine & Braking system. INT 650 weighs 210 kg. The engine heat should not bother you. The above things will apply if you have safe speedy rides. You can also ride INT 650 with the riding style of RE 350 without sudden bursts quick acceleration then the bike is yours.
- Sure will. You will have to get used to the weight more than the power. Its a little over 200 kgs. Quite laid back in nature and very manageable in terms of power.
- Well Prithviraj, I'm 67, and I love the Interceptor. It's not a problem if you know your biking and don't do s****d things like wheelies! Go for it, you'd love it!
- RE Interceptor 650 only because it is truly best than Renegade Commando Classic or Jawa. Service network through India. Beast performance. Jawa is town bike it is visible fancy bike nothing more.
- Re 650
- Don't know I have not ridden renegade.
- You can add off market
- Yes you can add leg guard
- No we cant
- 200 kmph is the maximum reading on the speedometer. But Interceptor 650 can reach a max speed of 160kmph.
- 200kmph
- 6 speed
- Yes...but suggested will be the panniers which will fit above your rear seat. Don't go for side mounted panniers because it will be brushing against your motorcycle's side exhausts
- It is not available
- Yes you can
- So i checked with RE management and senior R&D team, there is no such update as off 15th NOV, 2019. they have straight forwards said no updates as of now. nothing planned for atleast next 6 months. but yes we do have to options: 1. installing tubeless converter kit that might cost you some 15k + here in bangalore. 2. off market alloy rims.P.S. it does come with 3 years on road assistance which I have heard is very promptu. so can trust on that.IG: MR.KHAMB
- I checked with RE team below is there reply:"We are currently in the middle of cast alloy development for twins and nearing completion of our extensive durability & validation testing. All being well we expect products available in the new year around Feb 21."
- Hii Pratik, got same reply from official mail too....however Can you kindly suggest or you aware of any trusted after market alloy brand for the same
- Correct speed correct gear. 1 gear for initial movement . 2nd gear till 20 kmph , 3rd gear till 40 kmph , 4th gear till 60 kmph , 5th gear 70 kmph - 80 kmph , 6th gear above 80 kmph - ? . For fuel saving we have to monitor 1.Air pressure , Front 32 psi , Rear 36 psi ,2.Every 1000 km engine oil should be topped up in INT 650 .3.In signals engine should to shut down. 4. Important Every 200 km - 250 km chain lubricant should be applied if needed it should be cleaned (Must). 5.Wash the oil cooler every week . 5.Ensure the disk brake clearance every day (Manually). 6. Park the bike in shadow. Have a safe ride.

- Riding for mileage will take off the fun element in riding and can be detrimental to the health of the bike in the long run. A bike like this is not focused on mileage and neither should the owner be. I suggest you ride in a way that you enjoy the vehicle. You can still expect around 24KPL litre.
- No its air cooled with a radiator for oil cooling.
- No its air cooled with a radiator for oil cooling.
- No its air cooled with a radiator for oil cooling.
- Yes it does. Its fitted on the exhaust pipes.
- No just a fuel injection system
- It is on the exhaust
- It is better to start with a smaller capacity motorcycle to familiarize with the dynamics of a two wheeler before getting on to bigger bikes. The impact of an accident will be lesser in smaller bikes, and these should be expected while you learn.
- Not an answer but a follow up Question... I owned a Suzuki Thunder 125 I have it for 6years is the Royal Enfield interceptor 650 a good upgrade or do I start with the Honda Rebel 500
- A follow up Question... I owned a Suzuki Thunder 125 I have it for 6years is the Royal Enfield interceptor 650 a good upgrade or do I start with the Honda Rebel 500
- If you have a showgun then you will like the interceptor more then the himalayan provided you should be tall around min 5ft 9inch....if not then himalayan because you wanna tour and also the new bs6 ones have no problem as that of the bs3 himalayan so you can go ahead
- Ok then u better wait for the 650 version of the Himalayan which will be coming out soon it'll be best of both worlds refined engine and the amazing chassis of the Himalayan that will be ur best bet for touring
- Himalayan is the best one. for touring purpose. Interceptor altered with tourer seat will be second choice. Jawa is town bike visibly fancy bike not fit for highways.
- Existing footpeg not very comfortable for city drive or for reversing the bike.
- Yes . But existing one is more comfortable
- No
- Primarily there are 2 types of cooling used for the engine. Air and Liquid. Air cooled engines are cheaper but the cooling may not be uniform since the rear portion of the cylinders cannot be cooled by air when the vehicle is moving forward. Liquid cooled engines are more expensive to make due to the cooling jackets that go around all the heat generating parts of the engine. Liquid cooled engines have more uniform cooling and they must have a radiator. Either of these can have a supplementary oil cooler, which has a small radiator that takes away the heat from the oil that circulates inside the engine. Oil cooling is not an alternate to either air or liquid cooling, but only supplementary to those. Hope this helps.
- Oil Cooled and Water Cooled are terms used by Manufacturer's to differentiate the slight difference between the cooling systems. Oil cooling: Technically , An oil cooled engine is predominantly air cooled with oil cooling assistance, the majority of the heat transfer is through the fins on the cylinder block.Air-cooled engines are fuel efficient, affordable and require lesser engine space than that of liquid cooled engines. The Maintenance costs of liquid cooled ones are higher than air-cooled engines. Liquid cooled ones are easy to operate (better riding experience) but certainty of liquid spilling out is high.
- In layman terms, air cooled means there is no special cooling mechanism and the air outside will be used to cool the bike. Oil cooling and liquid cooling is as described above. In short liquid cooling>oil cooling>air cooling. Also the same for maintaince cost.
- Interceptor 650 cant be classified as cafe racer as a tourer . GT 650 is a cafe racer. Interceptor is good for highways. But the Himalayan is the best one. Bonneville T120 & Interceptor 650 riding position are same. The mile muncher is Bonneville T120.
- Sure.
- Hell yeah
- Thunderbird & Even Himalayan. RE 650 is good not too in city riding. More over RE is rectifying the defects in INT 650 which are prevailing in current models . Pl wait couple of month to purchase INT 650
- The 350 is certainly better for daily use in the city. In fact I would advise you to buy a scooter for your city runs.
- Thunderbird 350x
- Changing the stock exhaust would def help reduce heat but make sure the fuel map is correct if the bike is too lean it might overheat. Also if you check the engine oil temp if it is above 170 degrees it would help a lot to use a much larger oil cooler and also use synthetic oil. A motorcycle, set up correctly, shouldn't run hot at idle. If the oil is over 200 degrees using your infrared thermometer then you would def benefit from a larger cooler. Remember manufacturers set up bikes to benefit THEM (ie overheat, lose compression, have to be overhauled, etc) NOT usually to benefit YOU. I had a friend has a BMW 1000cc bike it ran 170 temp stock. My Triumph bonneville was running 230. I changed radiator for one 300% larger and voila! Now my Triumph runs 170 like it should. On your air cooler bike you would change the oil cooler, same difference.
- Interceptor is a 650 CC twin cylinder motorcycle. It is expected to heat up more that the smaller capacity bikes we are use to.There has never been an incident where fuel has caught fire due to the engine heat. There are production motorcycles with three times the engine capacity, and I have never heard of a risk of fire due to the engine heat.
- It’s a 650cc engine provided by air - oil cooling. It is expected to get heated up specifically if we are using in city because no enough wind to cool down the engine. Moreover they have provided heat sensors to monitor heat with ECU. If over heated vehicle will stop. Then wait for 15 mins it will cool down then we can continue. But if your engine turns off frequently due to heat better check with service centre.
- Yes. Keep her under 2500rpm and upto 60kph until the 1st free service. After that you can take her upto 4500rpm and 120kph for short bursts. She'll cruise very comfortably at 80kph without any problem after 500km. Happy riding!
- For the first 500 kms the company recommends not more than 70 Kmph and 3500 RPM. For the next 500-1000 I think its 80 Kmph and 4000 RPM.
- No not at all. But my suggestion till 3000 km don't cross 90 km/hr mark. In that time precisely judge the characteristic & Handling of the INT 650 . Well engine will also get seasoned. Conventional method but try it.
- Your opinion is good as I too find it little uncomfortable while braking in 120 -above it would be nice to put bigger one and would prefer one another than track tyres
- No
- At present the tire options are less to interceptor
- None of the updates available with new bike or as a part of ascessories! May be in future you might have but not concrete news as of now
- I believe they're already getting the slot wheels ready. But I personally love the spokes. Very classy. It already has a fuel gauge. Buy it. I have, and it's lovely.
- RE is expected to launch alloy wheels & fog lamps as official accessories & fuel gauge is already there in the bike
- Hi tanmay my height is 5’4 I find it little difficult to reach down and drag the bike , to your height it might be easy , but wt my concern is that the front foot pegs are more towards up , unlike other re bikes .. so it might be little difficult , tb500 or Himalayan would do for your height , but please to take a test ride
- Most probably not. May have to modify seat and handlebar height. Some people find it comfortable in long rides so I would recommend a long test ride before settling for an Interceptor. Both the TB500X and Himalayan are other options but they lack in power compared to the Interceptor.
- Tanmay, I'm 5'11", and the bike feels still tall. I think you'll find it comfortable as the riding stance is more or less upright, and quite relaxed. I like the ride position with your legs canted behind.
- Nope.... Riding parameters change along with that... Please avoid such alterations... U can change the width if you want... That wont affect the performance much...
- I just prefer you to adjust the shock height as it is a betterOption than altering more over if you want to do it please wait till the waranty ends
- Alteration any any mode will affect fuel efficiency & Braking efficiency. Performance might improve.
- It's Pirelli Phantom imported tyres from Italy one of leading manufacturer in world
- They're Pirelli Phantoms. Damn neat looking
- It uses Pirelli Phantom
- Not much except for the Regular Tyre Pressure Check; Regular Chain Cleaning, Lubrication & Tension Check; Regular Engine Idle Start every 7-10 days for 10-15 minutes to keep the battery charged always.Periodic Maintenance costs are nominal.Hope this helps! Happy riding!
- If you will compare the same segment bike it's cheaper then those but if you compare with other RE. bikes yes it's on bit higher side
- Maintenance is minimal. They set the tappets on my run in service. Oil changed. This is a long drain oil 5W50, with a change after 10,000 km. No problems other than that.
- Honestly you may afford it, but it is not the best thing to invest in. Mileage would be a max of 30kmpl meaning depending on how much you ride, more frequent visits to the refueling station. also royal enfield service costs are comparatively higher than other motorcycles in my experience and they require specialists to do its service. If this is your sole family income I would suggest you not to go for it. But if you are a motorcycle enthusiast then go for it.
- Think twice before you do it as it is not an ordinary re350 more over it depends on your living as far as I'm concerned I'm only having a milage around 20 in city it is too low for an average person to afford but its power is awesome good compared to other re if you are interested in it then go for it 😍😌
- I agree with you, Tanay.. This is not a workhorse type of bike. For my daily bread City runs I use my TVS Jupiter. My left hand is totally comfortable, not having to press a clutch in city traffic. The Interceptor would be a bike to get out of the city on. A pleasure ride no doubt.
- It will be bit uncomfortable for the pillion rider on a long ride.If you can have a break of 5-10 minutes every 30-45 minutes may be you can have the ride.Hope this helps! Happy Riding!
- Good for long rides but certainly will not be comfortable for the pillion.
- It's not very comfortable like other bullet or thunderbirdBut much better than sports type bikes like yamaha R15
- For riding a interceptor weather Woman or Man , 1. Definitely you should be a expert in riding a any 150 CC bike.2. The bare minimum height to handle interceptor will be 5.4 ft + 3. The weight of the person driving at least should be 55 kg + because the bike is 210 kg.Test drive the bike as much you can to find it suits you Most important you should be passionate to ride a 650 CC the bike. If so the bike is for you.
- It depends on individuals but as per my concept balance is more important its not like riding a bullet but a little more higher version
- No. It is very easy to handle. I am a woman and I love mine.
- Having owned both of them I'd say that for touring the Himalayan makes sense. My only problem with the Himalayan was its lack of power or feeling that it do with some more power. I know that a lot of folks are waiting for a 650 Himalayan.Having said that a lot depends on you and your requirements. Interceptor is great as a daily commuter. You'll most probably have to tweak the handlebar and seat to get the desired riding position. Himalayan seat is excellent. Panniers etc again Himalayan. In case of the Interceptor you'll have to get suitable panniers and stays etc. Both are good and different categories so in the e d it's your call.
- Himalayan is a all rounder Off road & Highways it performs well. Suspension set is too good say no to back pain. Interceptor is very good in highways it is the best performer & Powerful bike in royal enfield fleet. It cant off road like himalayan . Suspensiongood so no back pain issue. Because interceptor is not too comfortable in city riding. Plus their are many sensitive quality issues in ongoing models of interceptor. Like problem in T- Stem noise & Strut , Wheel wobble , Which RE might address soon. My choice is himalayan .
- For city, Electra or Bullet 500 with ABS is best, Himalayan for touring, Interceptor is for fun as a heavy weight champion. Suggest you an unbiased test drive forgetting our reviews for a while and then decide.
- I think it's possible, check this linkhttp://overdrive.in/news-cars-auto/image-gallery-royal-enfield-continental-gt-650-and-interceptor-650-accessories/
- I think that you'll be able to install the GT bar end mirrors in the Interceptor. Not 100% sure but most probably. The GTs touring seat is a direct fit. I've seen a Interceptor with this seat.
- Yes you can install bar end mirrors if you wish to do a mild alteration . GT touring seat is perfectly for suitable for Interceptor 650 .
- Yes it does. It prevents the rear wheel from locking up during aggressive downshifts.
- Yes , it does have slipper clutch. More easy to down shift gears while riding.
- Is there any automatic clutch for intwrseptar?
- No...re is not gng to release Himalayan with int engine...because of failure in frame ....which is already tested... But the present int650 is best for offroading and u can feel some smooth suspensions in front and if u change the fork oil for more weight ..then the ride will be the best one
- Interceptor 650 won't be comfortable to take it for off roading. It will be difficult to handle because of its weight and tyres not being suitable for that purpose.Hope this helps!
- Only to a certain extent..this motorcycle is not meant for dedicated off roading..but I did try some off roading here and there and it handles well. This is kind of an all rounder motorcycle and best suited on the highways
- I own both the Himalayan and the Interceptor and I can definitely say with authority that with the himalayan you wont have a back pain. Ride is more comfortable due to the seating posture and the seat itself. Same goes for the pillion rider as well. What you will get is a solid freaking headache considering the Himalayan has so many other issues that you get fed up spending most of your time in RE service centers. I own a BS3 model. So I hope the later models have these issues sorted. Interceptor on the hand was built for a different purpose and tall riders (5 foot 9 and above) will have problems with their back. This is because of the seating posture. But there are work arounds to this. its a great bike and is open to customization unlike the Himalayan.
- I have slipped disc and tail bone/sciatic pains .. you know how bad it can get. But I can tell you, on a normal day the Interceptor has never caused any issues or never till date have I had any issues because of the seating position on the Interceptor. I can't speak for Himalayan, I am sure it's meant for touring and expect that to be equally comfortable or more. With Interceptor, you cant go wrong that much I could tell trust me.
- The Interceptor 650 will marginally have a better seating posture than the Himalayan and hence should give less back pain. But eventually it depends on whether you will utilise the motorcycle for city rides for which Interceptor is best or for off roading for which Himalayan is best.Hope this helps! Happy riding!
- I did the installation of the sump guard myself. It is better to take off the bend pipe and silencer as one unit before attempting to remove the allen bolts that need to come off to fit the clamps for the sump guard. Also, since these bolts are part of the chassis, you will be able to torque it to the required specs only with the bend pipes out of the way. I am sure the workshop folks knew this, which is why they removed the pipes.
- Not at all without disturbing the sump guard can be installed. No need to dismantlement of exaust system.
- No bro it's not necessary it's only a case of 5 mins tym
- No bro.... I have I-650 my height 5.2 I cut the seat cushion 1inch and used safety Shoes while driving.during driving no problem but I can't move to and fro ideally from seat. For me it's very difficult to U turn. If u use front brake on slow traffic it's skidding and riders balance going to right side than it's very difficult to make balance and position need other person help or fully tiled u bike on ground and pickup .Harley 750 u can't fill the weight.
- I will suggest to test drive jawa instead of interceptor . Because 5.4 ft should be the bare minimum required height that too with boot. The bike weight is 202 kg . Pl test drive Jawa & Interceptor and arrive to a decision.
- Jawa would be a better choice but if you are interested please do go for test ride in my opinion it would be a little difficult but depends on your balance and all
- I would say it would be difficult in Indian conditions since you need to have your foot on the ground very often, and this can be a pain considering the 804 mm seat height and the awkward positioning of the foot pegs.
- No Sonali, it would be too difficult. This is a heavy bike, and with a full tank it would be difficult for you to balance it. But the Honda CB 300R. It's light, compact and fast.
- Would find it difficult as the seat height is more than 800mm & its a heavy bike & the foot pegs are awkwardly placed. One should be ideally atleast 5.5 feet to comfortably flat foot both the legs. However, you should take a test ride in heavy traffic to see if you are comfortable.
- The original Tyre Specifications of the Rear Tyre is : 130/70-18. The first no.is Width of 130mm; the second no.is the aspect ratio meaning the height of the tyre is 70% of the width or 90mm and the last no. after the dash is wheel rim size(diameter) of 17inches.The original front tyre specifications is: 100/90-18 and you now what the numbers indicate. It is important that the tyre specifications have to correctly match with each other to avoid issues of balancing, wobbling, braking, handling etc. Please seek the proper advice of the professionals before changing any tyre or wheel size for that matter. Hope this helps!
- Did you change the front tyres to a larger size as well, and if yes which size, how did you find the timsun tyres so far
- Timsun has 150/70/R18. Call the importer, i just got mine delivered today. Call on 95919 88954
- There is no tappet noise infact the sound is very smooth at 100 kmphyou don't feel any vibration at 180 kmph it really really good at that much coastand build quality is excellentbut back seat is not comfortablebecause of foot rest that bigest problem in interceptor
- The sound of the Interceptor 650 is not loud but is a deep rumble maybe like the Harley Davidson V Twin engines or even the Triumph Street Twin/ Bonnevilles.Happy riding!
- After warm up engine sounds like marbles rolling around in the engine!
- 1. --- 24 years ago i have driven old jawa for thousands of KM . It will thrill me every time i touch the handle bar & pump it to alive the engine. The exhaust thump & interval between the next thump cant say in words. Flick & Kick is a wonderful experience . I used to get mileage around 30 kmpl to 35 kmpl. 2.--- Now to coming new jawa . I went test ride new jawa with imaginations & drove more than 210 km i got mileage of 18 kmpl. Engine is powerful till 110 km/hr then it straining to climb speed with vibrations & becomes too noisy .The exhaust sound is like hero splendor bike. There are lots welding visually seen around new jawa . They recreated visibly old jawa . Visually good bike. I didn't get moved or ringed & impressed while riding. 3.-- I owned old bullet 1996 model i used it as a bicycle go everywhere with it. 4.-- Initially when i test drove RE Classic 350 UCE i was upset with engine thump & Rhythm. But the driving experience impressed gave the same pleasure simply same as my old bullet. So i was convinced and purchased a RE Classic 350 UCE engine model and riding till date. 5.-- In addition to it i have purchased interceptor 650 without test driving it . Because the test ride bike & My allotted bike came in same lot went for registration same date . I would say the powerful bike i never owned & Ever manufactured by Royal enfield. my choice was good. I getting mileage around 22 kmpl to 27 kmpl depending upon speed i go.So that's how the new jawa didn't impress me. I never need a bike for visual pleasure.

- If you can afford a budget of 3L, then go for Interceptor 650...miles ahead then the Jawa..plus it is a 650 CC parallel twin, you will enjoy the level of refinement this engine offers with almost zero vibrations. Compared to jawa, this motorcycle is extremely stable in its mid range. Only when u redline it, you can feel a bit of vibes in the foot pegs, but the vibrations are nothing compared to the other REs and not something that will bother you in high speed
- On my 500 km service i paid Say Rs.2679 for oil change & OIl filter change without labor charge. In 10,000 km paid service so Oil & Oil Filter = Rs.2700 + Air filter Rs.600 + Labor Rs.1000 = Rs. 4300 . The above no wear & tear parts are included.
- I haven't get it serviced at 10000, I haven't ridden till the above km
- Approx 3000 to 4000 + additional work if any.
- Upto 150mm width in 18 inch will fit on interceptor stock rim. you may change tube also to suit, but it is not mandatory.scorpion trail and phantom sports comp are available in 150. both cost around 16k
- I think 140/18 may be suitable for the rear rim of interceptor 650. i think we can fit the tyre easily on alloy wheels as i am not sure about the spokes wheel type. i have done it on my pulsar 220 long back
- While coming to customize the vehicle mileage is not a thing!!!!!! S****d
- 500 km 1st service . 5000 km inspection. Then every 10,000 km periodical service.
- 500
- 500 km.
- Well after lot of effort and wasting money outside, i wrote a mail to MD Mr. Siddharth lal about the issue and the very next day, i got call from regional service guy of RE. They took my vehicle and changed cone set to remove front tak tak noise, which worked initially, but noise is still coming sometimes...so its not gone :-( . About rear noise, actually it is not from rear shocks, but the battery chamber is loose which produces noise at all the times. To solve this its better go to local mechanic and ask him to put rubber bands on battery and place it inside....sad but that is what RE guys did. Pathetic to see such kind of jugaad with so called premium motorcycle of RE. Now i am going to try these front pre loaders ...as some of the guys are claiming that with that they got rid of that tak noise.
- Yes it makes very annoying sound like tak-tak on gravel or bad patch of road. I got it repaired outside and what actually they did is, they removed all the load from t-stem and fixed it again and tighten it properly. This has reduced the noise almost 99%. But i am still facing that annoying rear suspension t**g sound on off roads . My humble submission to all luck owners, those who are not getting the sound plz re-check
- Front forks is not so hard in rebounding.Could be that the tyre pressure is more than 32 psi(recommended) which makes it to rebound.Hope this helps! Happy riding!
- Yes it it does . i had made 3 attempts with SVC changed front tyres but no use learn to live with it
- Is the front suspension/struts bouncy in nature
- It's rear suspension
- Except bad seat, this is completely perfect for long touring. For solo trip or thinner pillion it won’t make any difference. Even RE personal advised me to change sear for long trip with GT 650 seat. I ridden 575km to my home town in 9 hours including breakfast , lunch and two tea breaks. No need to take much intervals if you are cruising at 100-120kmph and roads are good.
- Yes the Interceptor 650 is comfortable for a long ride.Except if you ride for a long distance touring install a touring seat.Hope this helps! Happy riding!
- The seats are too comfortable when we go with pillion rider . Front Foot peg position make little uncomfortable. For long drive singles is recommended because pillion rider thighs will get strained of elevated foot peg.
- In my RE service center there in a chief mechanic who takes care of RE interceptor division is same as you height or may be lesser . He uses boot and go for test drive . He manages to drive the interceptor with little difficulty. He sad he own a RE 500 CC in that he has altered the seat to suit him. He has traveled till himalayas rotang pass. If you are passionate design the seats for your height. Go ahead .
- I am 5.3 have very difficult to handle I-650 handling by claws panje. Drive Kar sakte hai .. idally handle nahi Kar sakte.. if u r using for daily and having only 1 bike don't buy.
- Brother bike ki height to thoda jayada hai and weight bhi 200kg se uper hai but as a rider nothing is impossible ...aap showroom jake proper test ride karo and then finally take the decision
- We have to compare the built quality within Royal enfield models. In that case interceptor is superior than other RE models. Himalayan built quality is is also equally good.
- According to money it worth, else it need some little improvement like seat n engine heating.... better than other Royal enfield bikes.. take a test ride you will love it.
- 650CC twin engine,47BHP, 52 NM torque classic old retro look ,dual channel ABSAll in just 3L Yes it's worth for your bucks you pay
- If you want to wreck your bike ...feel free to do so 😊🤣😂
- No only self start. The engine design & Engineering cannot be tampered by us.
- No.
- The engine is surely big, but the bike does not feel as hefty as the other RE models. To suit you better I would suggest go for a test ride and find out yourself. Take a company along with you to help you out with the bike suiting you or not thing.
- In fact RE Interceptor 650 is the perfec motorbike for your height.Hope this helps! Happy riding!
- It suits better tall & strong persons.
- Howdy! I definitely not agree that it will degrade the upper model. However Am quite optimistic that Enfield will not go with 350cc model because lots of 350cc version have been lunched in 2020. By the way if they do lunch there will always be Enfield loyal customers who would happily embrace the upcoming model. Therefore I conclude degrade the upper model is out of question moreover both lies in different categories. Naya Soch aur Naya Andaaz is the modern theme for marketing within and Outside.
- Anyway royal enfeild is a miracle fallen to indian riders lap and interceptor is a amazing marvel..in this scenario if re re-charms 650 to 350 it would be a great offer cause the petrol prices are trecking day by day they will be no looking down by my idea.350 creates a new see-through in future generations.
- So many middle class like me are eagerly waiting for exact interceptor with 350cc bcoz 650 is higher price and low mileage its hard to own interceptor 650 but we are fan of its looks design. If it hits the market then everyone will buy interceptor 350. I will be the one of those buyers
- This bike is not comfortable for the pillion except for very short distances. For short distances the silencer heat will be manageable.
- Yes we have to be very careful.
- It becomes too hot
- I have a Honda Civic LX 98, with Pirelli Phantom mounted on front wheels, and they have been running for about 20,000 Kms for almost 4 years now, and they're still in a very good shape, with excellent grip on dry or wet.. No need to change them, however, I do need to rotate them soon.. I've bought a pair of Hankook Optimo K424 (ME02) to be mounted in rear axle, hope they can work well altogether..
- 10 to 15k I am changing my interceptor 650 rear tyre and it's run 13k kms. Used only in highway.
- My 650's rear tyre runs only 5000km
- Interceptor
- Entirely different segment . It cant be compared in one platform. Int 650 is a cruiser.
- Its rider choice, which model he like.
- Except for the difference in the seating posture between the two there is no other difference.Depends whether you want the daily city commute with occasional long distance riding for which the Interceptor 650 is more suitable because of its more upright seating posture or a short distance Speed riding for which the Continental GT 650 is more suitable because of its forward leaning(committed) seating posture! Hope this helps! Happy riding!
- Engine is same in both the bike but sitting posture is totally different in interceptor you will get straight posture as it's suitable for city and hiway rides but in GT you will get little bit lean posture as it's cafe racer look in my opinion it's not comfortable for long rides...Hope you are quite satisfied with the answer if yes then please hit the like button
- If you have using sport riding-posture bike , then Continental GT will better for you . if not Interceptor.Continental GT better handing than Interceptor . For long ride, then Interceptor will be better .\'Ride Hard Ride Safe\'
- As per the user manual it seems to be BS-IV(or BS4) and not BS-VI(or BS6). @Zigwheels so are you trying to say that it is BS-VI READY?
- As per the user manual it seems to be BS-IV(or BS4) and not BS-VI(or BS6). So are you trying to say that it is BS-VI READY?

- Interceptor 650 has a upright driving position.GT continental has slight bend driving driving position. For highway cruising & Long travel interceptor is the best . GT continental is fun driving not for long travel. Both engine & Performance are similar. Please go for a intense test drive and decide the comfort aspects suits you.
- Same engine and frame. Just the seating posture is more committed on the GT. You should test ride both and decide what suits you better.
- Same Engine is there only difference is riding posture and price
- Dominor is good ,but you will get better choices
- For your height and the riding in city traffic conditions it would be best to opt for the Bajaj Dominar.Happy riding!
- Both are entirely different & Best among its class. Pl test drive both & go ahead .
- Definitely not. May be comparatively less priced 650 CC. Maintenance cost is higher side. Oil change with oil filter without labor RS.2800 .Parts cost are high. For example handle bar cost is Rs.4500
- It’s a budget friendly twin cylinder middle weight bike Don’t compare it with 250/350 cc single cylinders
- If you are comparing it with other RE models, then the answer is No! But if you are comparing it with it's competitors, then it is definitely a budget friendly bike.
- I am almost 6'. I found the GT quite uncomfortable for 2 reasons. The foot rests are rear set and this can be a pain in stop and go traffic. There is a lot of strain on the arms as the handlebars are quite low. I suggest you take a rest ride on both and decide.
- Height doesn't matter for this comparison, get a test ride. You will have an answer to your question doing that. Just for the brief, Int 650 is a more relaxed bike and Continental GT is a Cafe Racer with race ergonomics. So you need to decide for what use are you going to buy!
- Height is not a problem but foot pegs are position should suit you. Please go for a intense test drive and decide the comfort aspects suits you. Interceptor 650 has a upright driving position.GT continental has slight bend driving driving position.
- I have owned a RC390 and I sold it to replace it with Int 650. Not for the topend power but for the comfort and practically usable power and ofcourse its a twin cylinder. I know my needs and so I decided to go for Int 650. Buying a motorcycle is all about your perspective and likes. The purpose of buying the bike for our needs and the practicality behind the bike to serve that purpose should always be the decision making factors. Int 650 will give you usable power at low and mid range while RC390 will give you top end power which is not usable in city at all. While both this bikes are not the contenders to be compared, both are designed to serve different purpose. Int 650 can be used anywhere, for touring, scrambling, city rides and it adds to the style quotient as well. Where RC390 is a very track focused bike and should only be bought if you are willing to visit tracks at least occasionally!
- The Interceptor 650 is a modern classic bike with adequate power and torque which is capable of sustained speeds of 120-130kmph which the RC390 can't do.The RC390 is a sports bike being lighter has a higher power to weight ratio than the Interceptor and has a faster acceleration rate. The Interceptor is more suitable and practicable for city rides in heavy traffic as well as highway long rides.Hope this helps! Happy riding!
- 650 is much more powerful and gives you relaxed riding experience ! 390 is less powerful but lighter , so when you consider power to weight ratio rc might accelerate faster But overall experience RE 650 is far superior and more value for money proposition
- The Interceptor 650 can easily carry your weight of 130kgs when it's payload capacity is 200kgs.But the point is if the seat width will be comfortable? That you will have to check with a rest ride.Hope this helps! Happy riding!
- Height is not an issue... But for weight I would suggest you to get a lengthy test ride.
- Yes its a vry capable bike and comfortable for long riders but once go for test ride.
- RE INT 650 is twin cylinder engine & RE 500 is single cylinder. RE INT 650 is outstanding is performance . Both frames area different .Plus RE 500 is not best selling model it has injector problems lots of engine clattering noise. RE 500 has very Poor resale value .Now RE 500 is discontinued
- Of course, but is costlier too. And its not a thumper as its a twin cylinder. There are too many comparison factors.1. Power - Way powerful than the classic. 2. Cylinders - Twins are always the best 3. Mileage - 650 will drink more ofcourse 4. Maintenance - Twins will add here a little compared to the singles. 5. Riding posture - Would be a bit forward inclined compared to the classic. But the bike is more manuverable.650 is a better bike out of the two when engineering is concerned. Personal choice would differ basis personal interests.
- Definitely Yes
- Himalayan 1st choice then Thunderbird 500X if good mileage required
- If that riding is going to be on highways, then interceptor 650. And if bumpy city bad roads then Himalayan would be a better pick.
- Himalayan.
- The Interceptor is the best of everything:Handling, balance, stability, comfortable for long rides, excellent brakes, powerful and vibration free engine. All makes it suitable for city riding and highways.Whereas the Duke 390 is lighter and has a faster acceleration.Which makes it suitable for highways. But it lacks in comfort which is unsuitable for long rides.Hope this helps.Happy riding!
- Both suffice different purpose.... If you are buying it to use it for your city rides.... Duke must be preferred... But if you are a weekend rider... Interceptor can be enjoyed better! Please get a test ride to understand your interest!
- In terms of refinement and comfort, Interceptor 650..in terms of outright acceleration..Duke 390 beats the Interceptor 650...but in my opinions both of these vehicles are pretty powerful
- Its bolted and can be taken off.
- It can be removed. It is not wielded, but bolted. And you can add whichever back rest you want.
- Talk to dealer....have have some internal policy... .
- Yes..u can easily hit the 100KM mark in that time frame and on 3rd gear itself. Initial low end and mid end torque is massive
- I don't know ,
- I assume your question 0 - 100 kmph in 6 - 8 seconds under 5000 rpm yes it is.
- You just can't maintain that kind of an average speed on Indian roads on any bike per say. Even a sports bike would not serve you what you desire. And the most important thing is that this bike is not a speedster. It is a smooth bike that is meant to ride easy, but it has power to utilize whenever it is needed. If you still want to reach that speeds and keep it consistent then go for Ninja 400.
- First of all dangerous to ride in those speed especially in bike . Pl forget what happens to the engine because it carries warranty. 100 kmph - 120 kmph is good for interceptor in traffic free highways.
- Not sure about the bike, but it certainly will not be good for your longevity!
- Comparing to its predecessors the vibration is bare minimum. Handling while parking will be a issue. Try physically moving the bike , Stand on / off , Reverse/Forward it , Try Parking in cramped zone. If the results suits you go for interceptor 650. By the by bro I can understand Back pain & Even hand pain . Bro what is chest pain.
- Consider getting yourself a test ride... That will give you an idea of your physical abilities in regards to the bike.Regarding the back, hand and chest pain, I don't think this should be an issue. Only the weight of the bike should be manageable for you considering 61kgs.
- No pain, just a little task required while reversing or parking this bike as at zero speed, it is quite hard to handle die to its weight
- Among three interceptor 650 is best one. Best bike from RE. Service centers through out India. Cost effective bike powerful bike. Half the price than Street 750 & Hyosung proInterceptor 650 riding position & Suspension is so good your can travel 75km/per day like a breeze.Interceptor potential is it can munch even couple of hundred km per day. Without fatigue for the rider. If the mileage is not issue for you 18 km/lts - 20 km/lts .
- At this price point nothing can beat interceptor however if you can spend higher amounts there are other options. Interceptor is a smart choice
- Interceptor should be the better selection. Considering the service network and accessibility and low maintenance.
- Please don't compare both are entirely different .If you interested in racing or speed/Thrill ride /sporty , peppy , speedy ride go for 400 . Stable , Solid , Commanding ride position means go for interceptor 650 . solid plaint ride with very good amount of power with road presence go interceptor 650 . Both seat height is between 800 mm & 804 mm it will suit for you.
- If you have budget... Go for 650. As this bikes can't be compared with each another. Mileage also is a point to be considered where Dominar will be very economical in the city as compared to 650. But a twin cylinder speaks for itself. Go get a test ride for the 5.4" height concerns.
- Price to performance dominar, if you like old school motorcycles then interceptor. Service cost of Royal enfield is higher than dominar
- Per day 150km = 650rs of petrol per day.. as per it's mileage, which counts to 20k/month are you seriously that rich..???
- Easily.... In fact the bike is designed for that.. A practical bike and a tourer.
- Absolutely yes. Interceptor is for long drive cruise.without fatigue you travel.
- Comparing this two bikes completely depends on your liking. Both are completely different bikes. 500 is a thumper whereas 650 is a twin that rumbles and won't satisfy the thumper enthusiasts. But 650 is a better bike, having a better engine, a better quality and having a better engineered bike overall. The rumbling sound plays a symphony to the ears. There's this rumble and then there's burble especially when you are doing down hill. The weight is felt only while lifting the bike from the stand and it vanishes the moment the bike moves. So weight may only be a concern for a very light weight person. For a normal person weight factor won't matter. In fact riding a 650 feels more easy than riding a 350 classic.BDW, 202 kgs is dry weight and the fuel weight will add to it!
- Definitely weight matters . Interceptor 650 is 10 kg more than its predecessors Classic 500 Or Classic 350. Moving in rear is a problem or strain the situation may arise in tight parking for that park the bike in nose up position.Always move the bike while sitting on the bike. Bikes till 110 kg weight is easier to handle. No major difference in handling between RE 350 & Interceptor 650.
- Prashant, the Interceptor is in a class of its own. I would not compare it to any other Enfield bike at the present time. Yes, an average built guy can handle this bike easily.
- Yes, it is. Highly reliable! Just keep it well serviced.Don't compare it with the other RE models. You can feel the Quality difference between those and the 650 twins. This bike comes with a bare minimum tech and reduces the complications associated with it making your life lot easier than running around the service centers for tech related issues as that can't be fixed in your parking. Also please avoid achieving top speed targets on this bike, this bike is not meant for top speeding like the Kawasaki or the KTMs. Its a practical bike and its range would be till 140 kmph, ofcourse it goes beyond that easily, but it's not it's comfort area and you would lose the torquey nature of the engine there. Also that will affect your mileage! And in the long run as well!It is as easy as to say you take care of your 650 and the bike would take care of you as well! And this bike won't age early and will continue to last for years unlike the sports competitors that age in 3-4 years and make you urge for a new motorcycle.Technology would always get old and would need an update every now and then. But a classic would always remain a classic and would indulge you to feel the ride. Now you decide for yourself.
- I bought this bike 2 months back. Since then I am fixing one thing or the other. It has stayed dead or in service center for half of the time. I should have bought a Honda. If you want a reliable bike Royal Enfield is the last brand you should look at. Battery Issue (charged it twice then bought a new Exide battery from company then that also died), twichy throttle response, clicking noise from rear shocker, problem with instrument cluster, turning off on high rpm. But I am happy to say this bike is the only problem in my life.
- No, it is not reliable especially after it is three years old due to poor electricals and RE’s poor tech know how and application. I was in Leh Ladakh trip but couldn’t complete it despite taking the bike to service centres at Jalandhar, Udhampur and Leh. I lost three batteries in the trip (all overheated and short). MIL light and abs light keeps lighting up. Half of the trip My bike was on the back of pick up truck and now it is in a truck bound for Delhi, totally dead. Serious issue with wiring and sensors but RE has no answer to it. So guys buy an interceptor but don’t take it to remote areas please.
- Almost daily I commute in heavy traffic.Normally I switch off the ignition at traffic post if the waiting is more than say about three minutes. So the heating issues don't arise. As it is,a fuel saving habit is to switch off at traffic.Do don't have to be bothered regarding it.Go for the Interceptor.I absolutely love my Interceptor.Hope this helps!Happy riding!
- It will not bother you, unless you are stationary with the engine on most of the time. While in motion, the air takes away the heat so you don't feel anything.
- In city especially stopping on signals we can feel the heat more. On move the heat reduces to bare minimum level . Definitely heating is more the other RE models. Because it is air cooled engine with radiator for oil cooling only.
- I ride daily to office and back which is approximately 63kms. There were no 'heating' issues after the 1st service in bumper to bumper traffic. This is a 650cc air cooled twin engine and some heat is expected. I did change the stock seat to a customised seat which I dare say is near perfect for long rides. Absorbs the minor road bumps well and really soft on your behind. This is a fab bike and my take is go for it. You can customize it the way you please. If you buy Royal Enfield you've got to live with the minor issues that crop up. But these aren't deal breakers and there is always a work around. Compared to the Himalayan (I own a BS3 model) , the interceptor is a very well designed, tested and built new bike. There no vibrations whatsoever and the gear shifting is butter smooth.
- I guess people who ask about 650 knows the displacement size of the engine and any engine of that capacity is expected to get heated when it does not get enough cooling. Considering the RE 650 being an air-oil cooled engine, it should warm up as well! But its not a microwave that can be used to cook your thighs. Surprisingly and fortunately it does not heat up that much that you would consider as "heating issue"! I don't understand why people are talking about heating issue so much. One should always understand its a mid capacity tourer and commuter motorcycle and not a low displacement commuter motorcycle such as splendour. And this bike is anyways not meant for people who are stuck for daily 3 hrs of office traffic. People should know what this bike is going to be used for and set their expectations accordingly.
- I find it quite easy to ride the Interceptor 650 in heavy city traffic conditions as I have been commuting daily to my office and back.Except ride in half clutch only in the 1st gear when it is like bumper to bumper and please wear ankle boots.Hope this helps! Happy riding!
- Interceptor 650 riding position & Suspension is so good your can travel 60 km/per day like a breeze. Interceptor potential is it can munch even 350 km/day. Without fatigue for the rider. If the mileage is not issue for you 18 km/lts - 20 km/lts . Say you have burn 3 1/2 liter of petrol.
- Very good for commutes. Seat comfort however is not great. You may want to add some padding to make it wider and firmer.
- Its a comfortable bike... No worries.. Just need to upgrade the seats.
- There's a buzz that ...soon they are going to release alloys for twins 650
- Only wheel colour change available...for more info check RE website
- No alloy wheel in any model of interceptor 650 or GT 650
- Definitely, be gentle on accelerator, once you get hold of it than you can have a blast. First take a test ride to check if you are comfortable with the weight of the bike if yes then you are good to go for it.Regards
- As per my own opinion, interceptor 650 suits best for person having need in less commuting and more on highway ride. If ur criteria/purpose matches the same u can go for interceptor 650...its not matter first or second bike...
- Tough question . Strict budget -- Any model/Brand 150 CC . Moderate budget -- RE Standard 350 CC or Electra. Extra large budget -- Classic 350 , Thunderbird 350 ,Classic 500 Premium budget -- Interceptor 650 , GT 650
- For a beginner my answer would be a no,bike is a bit too heavy and would feel a bit aggressive for a newbie,if you have ridden a 200 cc bike and have good experience test ride and decide. The weight can be handled when you are used to the bike for a week or two,ALL THE BEST :)
- No ... definitely no sir as the bottom end and high end of the bike is aggressive and in terms of weight a sear 200+ kg is too much to Handle for a new rider
- Don't go for it,
- Colour is a matter of personal choice. Any dent on the chrome tank will be very obvious and wont be easy to bring back to original finish. Painted tank would be easier to fix and also can be restored to original condition easily. This was my logic for not going for chrome.
- Mr.Umair If your wish is chrome & Your Budget allows go with chrome . Colors & Spending is our personal choice. Interceptor Chrome is excellent . One thing color have no role in performance of bike or cars but it makes the appearance strong & Beautiful.
- Thank You for your reply, Do you know a seller in Bangalore who can I buy the Interceptor with some discounts.
- Start with a small commuter motorcycle. Maybe 100 or 150 cc max. The best way to avoid accidents in future is to learn from the few you will have initially, which hopefully will be low impact. Accidents are inevitable so it is better to have a small bike first and learn what you should not do on a motorcycle before moving up to bigger bikes which are more difficult to handle, especially for a novice rider. Also, get into the habit of riding with proper riding gear from the beginning. Safe riding!
- The Interceptor 650 has a weight in excess of 200kgs and for a learner definitely it is not the recommended motorcycle.Instead choose the Yamaha MT-15 or KTM 250 Duke or Suzuki 150 Gixxer all of which are of manageable weight.Hope this helps! Happy riding!
- Any 150 cc you wish is fine for you. You can can master driving in one month. Adopting to your city traffic conditions is priority.
- The interceptor is good in city driving & Best in highway cruising. The performance of the bike is felt in highways.
- Its a cafe racer
- It is cruiser bike
- Interceptor is very good in Performance. Good Braking. Driving position is good. Standard seat is hard for long drives.Pillion seating is not comforta ble because of elevated foot pegs. Heating is little bit in high city driving conditions. Suspension is bouncy making thud noise in little bad & Very bad roads . Suspension is Very Good in highways. Interceptor is definitely not a zero vibration bike. It is creating vibration in foot peg areas , Side of the fuel tank & Minor development started in handle bar area. Fuel gauge is improper/inaccurate it shows error reading we have to manually check by opening the tank. Engine RPM some times improper in idling glides up & Down.
- Performance of the Interceptor 650 is brilliant. Its acceleration is smooth and it breezes past 100kmph in 8-10 seconds.Braking is equally good.It comes to a stop almost instantly which inspires confidence.Ride, handling, balance & stability are the hallmarks of the Interceptor.Even Triumph owners are choosing to purchase the Interceptor for their daily commute.Hope this helps! Happy riding!
- According to the cubic capacity of the engine the BHP and torque is in lower side, but most important thing is you get those Horse Power and torque very early in the rev range, which makes the motor practical and fun to ride. On top when you consider the price point for the refinement of a twin cylinder motor it is a great choice.
- Yes you can
- Interceptor will suit your height . But pl go for a intense test ride.
- I have same height
- Yes, you can shave off the seat foam by an inch without altering the chassis and suspension. Better still you can use a more dense foam and make a seat which is one inch thinner.
- Yes. You can adjust the rear shocks to lower setting, you can also adjust the front suspension....gave you about 1'...with out affecting the bike performance... wouldn't do it anymore then one inch...
- I don't think it would be good to do so by changing or making some changes in the mechanism to do so, but yes you can try for a thin seat.
- My sincere answer would be "do a test ride",the bike suits for skinny people too,the bike's kerb weight is a bit too heavy so do a test ride and see wether you can handle the bike ...(It felt a bit too heavy for me at the beginning ...now i am used to it)
- You may find it little difficult to safely roll the motorcycle on the ground for your height in seated position.Best is to have a physical check visiting a showroom and yes would recommend to always wear ankle boots to have a safe ride.Happy riding!
- Please test ride. If the height does not suit you ask the dealer to change to TOURING DUAL SEAT or SINGLE SEAT RIDER test in those seat and find yourself. I suggest to wear a boot and test ride.
- Absolutely, if you think it checks the boxes on the other parameters you are looking for.
- Yes you can absolutely safely ride the Interceptor 650 with your height of 6ft.Always recommend to wear ankle boots.Hope this helps! Happy riding!
- I think yes. As i am 5 feet 11 inches and I am comfortable with it.
- Does Hayabusa have ladies footrest? No Does cbr1000 have ?? No Basically all bikes which aren't 100-300cc don't have because the torque is alot so it will be foolish for someone to add ladies footrest in interceptor as it also has high torque and even the braking system is also very good so.
- Ladies who wear Saree , Now more specific.... understood? How many Indian ladies still wear Sarees. So he was usual in asking that , taking offence in everything go and fight with your husband. Women’s should be respected and are equal to men no issue in that . Don’t create something out of nothing.
- What is a ladies foot rest? I am a lady, and I use the footpegs it comes with. Ladies' feet are very similar to men's feet - we don't need special footrests.
- Yes it is perfectly possible. Many people have already done it. You can source same excel rims(nearly 25k) or buy aluminium alloy rims from alibaba. will cost you nearly 10k. But then you need to buy spokes, hub, bearings and set them up with the help of an exert. in total a 4.25x17 inch rear rim alone will cost you nearly 22k when you get it ready to install.

- Interceptor is the best bike in market for city commuting and it performs fabulously on long hauls.Continental GT is a bit sports oriented and will not suitable for long rides (it depends on the rider). On the other half City commuting will be fun for the rider (still depends on the rider) as one can zip through the traffic easily.
- Interceptor is comfortable because of upright riding position. In GT you have to bend and drive. So painful long drives. But GT is fun in riding aspects.
- Interceptor due to its sitting posture
- There is but not very serious. By riding at a steady speed helps in keeping the bike cooler. As far as long rides are concerned I don't think there will be any problem because of the effortless power delivery.
- Minimal heating.Yes you can obviously go for long drives as it is an amazing tourer and.you would love to ride it on open roads.
- Yes we can feel the heat in city driving conditions . Not in long drives.
- Yes you can quite comfortably ride the Interceptor 650 in traffic conditions with your height of 5ft9in.Recommend to always wear ankle boots.Hope this helps! Happy riding!
- Yes I think it would be fine but one thing is that its footpeg positioning is a problem but you have to decide whether it is a major or minor problem for you.
- I am 5.8 feet, absolutely no problem in handling it in traffic.
- Firstly you will have to decide whether you will make the full payment or avail a loan with emi making a down payment of a minimum of Rs 40,000 I think. For this you have to submit Xerox copy of PAN Card, Aadhaar Card or Passport and cancelled cheque of your bank account. You cannot take the motorcycle right away. You will have to wait for its registration.Hope this helps.
- Mr.Lobzang you can purchase interceptor 650 or which ever bike you wish from India .which ever showroom is convenient & near for you. 100 % import duty is exempted by Bhutan GOVT while you purchase from India. You register it in Bhutan RTO
- Have no idea sorry.
- First service cost me around Rs 2700 which is due at 500 kms. The service interval after the first service is 10000 kms, so frankly speaking the service/maintenance costs should be comparable to a smaller capacity bike that has a service interval of 6000 kms. Having said that I expect the tyres to be expensive, since they come shod with Pirelli Phantoms. And obviously engine work will be costly too, but it will be years before you need it.
- Well service cost lesser than rest RE Models . Service interval is every 10,000 km only. Warranty is 40,000 km or 4 years.
- Yes
- Conventional Ladakh carrier will not fit, due to silencer position...will need custom carrier...but I think it's capacity will be less..though royal enfield has launched saddle mounts and bags for interceptor
- No it cant be fitted . Because the twin silencer is in upright position.
- I dont think so because of its twin exaust.
- I sincerely don't suggest, sorry for my remarks, you will not be able to place your feet on the ground during very slow speeds ,it is very dangerous since you can't lift the bike with your one hand due to its weight.more over if you try keeping your foot on the floor the footrest keeps fouling with your legs,I am 5'7'', and at times find it quite difficult. Try some low saddle bikes.at the end of the day, safety is more importantMaybe if you modify the footrest, brakes & gear pedal to that of a GT 650 it may be more comfortable. .
- I am somewhere around same height. I own an Interceptor 650. I have used the bike for normal commute in Bangalore. From my experience, you can comfortably drive the bike in most conditions. I do not have experience in driving in uneven conditions much - but in traffic and in normal road conditions - it is a very comfortable drive. I suggest you to go for it, if you like the style and the comfort the bike offers.
- Use boots plus change seat to lowprofile touring GT seats gives you easy reach to the ground for a 5ft 4' rider .Lower suspension settings at the rear and in extreme cases change rims to a 17' will do the job .That's a lot of mod but it's worth the effort .
- Tall riders can add a handle bar riser and if required a wider handlebar. In fact the interceptor is more suitable for taller riders. However it is very uncomfortable for tall pillion seat riders. A seat change is a must as the stock seat is simply not built for medium to heavy behinds
- Yes the Interceptor 650 is the perfect choice for your height. You can customize the handlebar. But it has to be done from a reputable source otherwise you know it will affect the balance and stability of the supremely balanced motorcycle.Hope this helps! Happy riding!
- Yes dear i am 65 yrs and enjoying 650 with modification o handle bar and headlights only.earlier i was using Harley street 750.now 650 gives me almost same pleasure with additional benefit of low maintenance cost.ha ha ha by by Harley.
- The riding position on the Interceptor 650 is comfortable for both City and long rides.Except the seat which is not suitable for rides beyond 100-150kms for which you need frequent breaks.Hope this helps.Happy riding!
- Not really the stock seat is pretty bad dats why im went with the double touring seat of continental gt for my interceptor and it is amazing night and day difference as regards to the position it won't be as comfortable as a cruiser like a Thunderbird or a harley but its definitely way better than the continental gt i can say that much
- Riding posture is good but seat foam is too thin , you need to get after market seat Pillion comfort is bad for long touring , unless pillion is short in height
- The Interceptor 650 is not comfortable for a pillion rider.Maybe for a short city ride it is okay and that too in forward facing seated position.Hope this helps!
- It is designed to be a 2 seater. Comfort for the pillion has not been a priority though.
- Yes you can change to even single seat
- Total capacity is 3.9 L but when you refill after draining its 3.1 L
- 3.1l approx
- 3.1 liter
- I won't recommend it. But if you have enough experience with medium weight motorcycles and can handle it with touching only one feet on the ground, yes. If I was a five feet guy, i wouldn't go for it. Because handling a heavy bike in traffic with that height will be very much difficult for me. If you can afford, you can think about harly Davidson street 750 which has a seat height of 720 mm. Safety comes first. Ride safe
- My opinion is No but don't get demoralised you first take a test drive then decide, because with fuel it's weight is almost 203 Kg and with 2 riders it becomes 300 kg above. So get decide.
- Wouldn't recommend riding the Interceptor 650 for your height.Hope this helps!
- Interceptor is more comfortable than GT in heavy city traffic conditions.because of its more upright seating position. The GT seating position is more aggressive so that you have to lean forward.
- Both bikes are good only difference is that the gt has a bit sporty riding position so I prefer interceptor in traffic conditions.
- Interceptor for sure
- Interceptor does not have a kickstart is only have the self start bike
- I've got a 1977 cb750 Honda with kick start. Regularly used when my bandit battery is flat.
- I am sorry no it doesn't have kick start
- It is possible to carry out modifications to the original seat of the Interceptor 650.Best to take your motorcycle to a reputed seat specialist who can help you with same.Happy riding!
- No, I don't find any chassis struts underneath to support the spring seat. The Bullet was originally an Army bike for despatch riders, which used a single seat design.
- Very tough unless you know an expert who can disassemble and weld the frame.
- If you are planning to add Alloy wheels don't.... interceptor is the most heavy bike of RE as of now and alloys tend to break easily under high loads or pressure on it especially in potholes and other bad patches...but if you really want to use tubeless then you can use the formula x tyre sealant or get a triumph spoke wheel those are spoke wheel but are tubeless
- Yes like @debabrata said, Both 650 twins come with tubeless tires but since they have spoke rims they have tubes in them. They call it ‘Technically Tubeless Tires’. But if you can wait a few months, Royal Enfield is reportedly bringing out Alloy wheel rims for the Twins as an add on accessory. Before 2023 is what I heard. So maybe wait for it and you can have fully tubeless alloy wheel tires on your Int 650. ✌🏻🤩
- All Re interceptor 650 manufacture after Jan 2021 comes with CEAT tube type tyre. so they are not tubeless. if you need to go for tubeless conversion, then you must change tyres.
- You noob as*ed piece of sh*t, I do not know from which corner of the world you popped up from but if you can't handle a kickstart then you shouldn't be anywhere near a bike. If you don't even have a kickstart then it doesn't even deserve to be called a bike, it is just a geared scootie. Why don't you grow the balls to ride what a man rides and then come open your mouth here you pus*y millenial c*nt
- So go die in 1983 mr boomer ....and pls don't touch modern 1000cc bikes ...place a Kickstarter in H2 and keep a autoshow were PPL laugh at your pathetic a*s when you try to kickstart a modern 1000cc 🙄dumbass #boomers still exist
- So go die in 1983 boomer ....pls don't touch all the new modern 1000cc segments ....and add a kick start to H2 and keep a auto show where PPL laugh at your pathetic a*s trying to kickstart a H2 😀
- Yes it is.
- The Interceptor 650 is fitted with a slipper clutch as standard.Happy riding!
- Yes it is
- Silver , Black , orange crush area same price. Dual color is Rs.7000 more , Chrome model is 20,000 more
- I think it would be for 3.3 to 3.5 lakhs expected showroom.
- Is black colour available??? Goa
