The Indian automotive market undoubtedly has a penchant for scooters since they are one of the most affordable modes of transport. But, BMW Motorrad seems to have its own idea of scooters and has launched the C 400 GT in India, priced at Rs 9.95 lakh (ex-showroom). Yes, it’s priced so high that you’d possibly end up with a good few cars to choose from. Which ones? Here’s the list.
Nissan Magnite (Rs 10.15 lakh)
The very first thing we’d address is the space. You can fit double the number of people in a car than on a scooter, legally. Plus the Nissan Magnite has abundant space to fit three full-size adults at the rear. It’s also loaded with features like a 360-degree camera, an 8-inch touch screen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. You also get a 336-litre boot space which the BMW Maxi-scooter certainly doesn’t. Not to mention, the Magnite ticks the look-good box as well.
Tata Nexon (Rs 10.97 lakh)
If you are inclined towards vocal-for-local, then the Tata Nexon could be a decent choice rather than spending close to Rs 10 lakh on a scooter. The Tata Nexon not only looks quite handsome but also is equally practical and safe. Not to mention, it also gets a 5-star crash test safety rating from the Global NCAP.
Hyundai i20 (Rs 10.89 lakh)
the automobile community
Considering the Indian road and traffic conditions, hatchbacks are some of the most easy-going cars in terms of price and practicality. The Hyundai i20 is quite a looker in its latest avatar and easily accommodates 5 people. Its laundry list of features includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless phone charging, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, BOSE music system, Auto AC with rear AC vents and LED lighting as well.
Honda City (Rs 10.99 lakh)
Probably one of the most popular sedan names in the Indian car market, the Honda City too could be one of your options. Its base model is priced at Rs 10.99 lakh. The fifth-gen City not only looks smart but also packs a decent list of features. It comes with Alexa and Google smart device support featuring voice command update wherein you can remotely lock/unlock the car, operate the AC, LED headlamps, sunroof, find my car, remote boot opening, tyre deflation status, battery health issues and more.
Kia Sonet (Rs 10.69 lakh)
Last but not least, the Kia Sonet could be one of your options against the BMW C 400 GT for around Rs 10 lakh. It offers drive modes, traction control, ventilated seats and LED lighting. You even get a class-leading 392-litres of storage at the rear. Kia offers the Sonet in two petrol and one diesel engine options.
