TVS Motors has launched the Apache RR 310 with a stealthy new paint job called Phantom Black and a ‘Race Tuned (RT) Slipper Clutch’ for 2019. The updates will set you back a little over Rs 2,600 compared to the current model, while its ex-showroom price now sits at Rs 2.27 lakh (Delhi).
The Phantom Black paint job features a white and red race stripe that runs from the front fairing to the rear quarter panel, much like the current Racing Red colour scheme. On the mechanical front, the new slipper clutch should provide for lighter clutch actuation and prevent wheels hops during hard downshifts. The feature is available as an optional accessory which can be retrofitted onto any existing RR 310. While the above mentioned updates are a welcome change, we had hoped for a bit more in terms of power and engine refinement.
That said, TVS has been constantly working towards making the RR 310 a more potent machine and recently rolled out a free update for all Apache RR 310 owners in March 2019. This included an ECU remap, rubber piping around the edges of the windscreen and new bar-end weights to reduce vibrations, and a new chain roller to cut down chain noise.
In terms of competition, the Apache RR 310 competes against the KTM RC 390. We’ll be bringing you our first ride impressions about the bike pretty soon, so make sure you stay tuned to ZigWheels.
