UPDATE: Tata has launched the Harrier Dual tone at Rs 16.76 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

  • Dual-tone colour options likely to be offered with Calisto Copper and Ariel Silver paint schemes.
  • Dual-tone variants of the Harrier will be priced at a slight premium over the current range.
  • Meanwhile, Tata Motors is set to updated the 2.0-litre Kryotec engine to meet BS6 norms.
  • Expect a 7-seat version as well as a more powerful variant before the end of the year.

Tata Motors has teased dual-tone colour options for the Harrier in the face of new competition in the form of the recently launched MG Hector and the upcoming Kia Seltos. The homegrown carmaker has released teasers of the dual-tone options, suggesting that the launch is set to happen soon.

Currently, the Harrier is available in five single tone colour options -- Calisto Copper, Thermisto Gold, Ariel Silver, Orcus White and Telesto Grey. The teasers suggest that the dual-tone colour option will be available in Copper and White shades. Both the colour options will be available with a black roof. Meanwhile, Tata offers a black vinyl wrap for the roof as a dealer level accessory. Expect the dual-tone variants of the Harrier to be priced at a slight premium over the single tone options. The Harrier is priced from Rs 12.99 lakh to Rs 16.65 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Tata Motors is also working on updating the Harrier’s 2.0-litre Kryotec engine to meet upcoming BS6 emission norms. Currently, this engine produces 140PS of power and 350Nm of torque. The carmaker is likely to offer a more powerful 170PS version of the engine as well. Other updates that the Harrier is likely to receive soon are a 6-speed automatic gearbox sourced from Hyundai, an all-wheel drive variant as well as a 1.6-litre petrol engine.

Meanwhile, the manufacturer is busy readying the 7-seater version of the Harrier, which was first showcased as the Buzzard at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. Sources suggest that this version will be called the Cassini when launched in India. It will be powered by the same 2.0-litre Multijet engine, albeit in a higher state of tune. The 7-seater SUV is expected to be offered with both manual and automatic transmission options. Expect it to hit our roads by the late-2019.
