Suzuki To Set Up Service Camps For New Access 125

Suzuki is recalling the New Access 125 to fix an issue with the rear axle shaft in scooters manufactured between March 8 and June 22.

Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Ltd.(SMIPL) has started a service campaign for the new Access 125. This announcement was made by SMIPL on 12th July. The company will replace the rear axle shaft as a precautionary measure in scooters that were manufactured between March 8 and June 22, 2016.

The campaign will commence on July 13th and will extend up to October 31, inspecting 54,740 units of scooters. SMIPL will be offering free periodic maintenance service to customers who report to the dealership for replacement. Customers can also visit Suzuki's authorized dealerships to check if the models have been affected. The replacement of the rear axle shaft will be done free of cost.

“In pursuance of Suzuki’s commitment to customer satisfaction and as a matter of abundant precaution and safety, we have decided to undertake this service campaign on the New Access 125 scooters to address issues of rear axle/wheel stability that has been identified in some of these scooters.” said a Suzuki Motorcycle spokesperson.

Suzuki had launched the New Access 125 in March with a price tag of Rs 53,887 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Access 125 has undergone some changes in its mid-life facelift avatar. It is powered by the same 124 cc four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, delivering 8.7PS at 7,000rpm and a peak torque of 9.8Nm at 5,000rpm. The new Access 125 also features a 3D emblem logo and optional front disc brake, and comes in five colour options — grey, black, red, white and blue.
