The Kodiaq RS combines sporty styling inside out, with a more potent turbo-petrol engine for a more involving drive experience

The recently launched 2025 Skoda Kodiaq gets a refreshed look inside out along with new features. However, if you want a Kodiaq that’s more performance-oriented and an enthusiast who loves being behind the wheel, there could be some good news. The launch of the Skoda Kodiaq could be very likely on cards on our shores.

What makes the Skoda Kodiaq RS special over the regular model? We start with its thumping heart underneath the hood.

More Power!

This is one of the biggest reasons to consider the Skoda Kodiaq RS. It packs a 2-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 265 PS and 400 Nm, which is 61 PS and 80 Nm more than standard Kodiaq. It is mated with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system. The Kodiaq RS can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.4 seconds.

It also features Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC), which allows real-time adjustment of damper stiffness to suit changing driving conditions. Further enhancing its dynamic nature is progressive steering, improving agility at high speeds while reducing steering effort at low speeds.

Looks To Match Its Pace

Overall, the Kodiaq RS boasts sporty design elements that distinguish it from the standard model.

For starters, the butterfly grille is finished in black and features the vRS badge. The air dam is noticeably larger, and the bumper boasts sharper lines and creases, contributing to the SUV's bold and aggressive stance.

The profile looks similar to the standard Kodiaq but steps up with larger, 20-inch wheels that give it a sportier appearance. Highlighting its character are the red brake calipers, which also provide a contrast to the dual-tone alloy wheel design. Design features like body-colored door handles, blacked-out ORVMs, and wheel arches are reminiscent of the Sportline variant of the Kodiaq.

At the rear, the Kodiaq RS features split LED taillamps, much like the standard model. However, the standout difference is the dual exhaust system, which amplifies the SUV's sporty appeal. The rear also boasts a bold vRS badge and striking 'Skoda' lettering finished in glossy black, adding to its dynamic and aggressive look.

Sporty Interior Theme

Inside, the Kodiaq RS updates reflect its performance-oriented nature. The cabin is draped in an all-black theme, complemented by striking red stitching on the dashboard, seats, and door handles. While the layout is similar to the cabin of the standard model, the premium look of the standard version is replaced by a sportier looking interior.

Has All The Kit You Need

Feature-wise, it boasts a 13-inch infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver display, both offering RS-specific graphics to denote that you’re driving the sportier Kodiaq. Other amenities include heated front-row seats, 13-speaker Canton sound system, three-zone automatic climate control system, wireless phone charging, ambient lighting, and panoramic sunroof.

On the safety front, it gets 9 airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), ISOFIX child seat mounts, 360-degree camera with parking sensors, and ADAS features such as lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and blind spot detection system.

Kodiaq RS Expected Pricing

Should Skoda decide to bring the Kodiaq RS to India, expect it to arrive as a full import. And with that comes a hefty price tag. It will command a noticeable premium over the standard Kodiaq, which currently retails between Rs 46.89 lakh and Rs 48.69 lakh (ex-showroom). The Kodiaq RS will be offering a sportier alternative to entry-level luxury SUVs.

After the Kodiaq, launching its RS version will not only expand Skoda's India portfolio but also appeal to the brand's enthusiasts. Share your thoughts on the Kodiaq RS in the comments below.
