Skoda had launched the second generation Kodiaq in India last year, bringing it via the CKD route, and ever since, it has become popular among buyers in its segment who prefer luxury and a sophisticated experience. However, in light of new competition, the brand has given its flagship some updates for the 2026 model year. Here’s all that has changed in detail:
Skoda has launched the 2026 Kodiaq at a starting price of Rs 36.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It continues to be offered in three variants with a single powertrain option. The starting price of the SUV is now also lower by Rs 3 lakh (ex-showroom). Here is the detailed updated price list of the new Kodiaq:

For the 2026 model year, Skoda has added Level 2 ADAS features to the top-spec Selection L&K variant of the Kodiaq, making it the carmaker’s first model in India to be equipped with the safety tech. Furthermore, the Sportline variant has been given some key features, which were restricted to the Selection L&K trim previously. These include:
Illuminated grille
360-degree camera
Pre-crash occupant protection
Level 1 ADAS functions
The exterior of the new Kodiaq remains unchanged, retaining its sleek LED headlamps, ‘butterfly’ grille with horizontal light strips and sharp-looking bumpers as part of its fascia. From the side, the Kodiaq has a hunkered down silhouette, which gives it an estate-ish look. It also gets touches like a gloss black B-pillar, body cladding, and roof rails. The car sits on 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, which are available in three different designs depending on the variant you choose.

The rear continues to feature a connected LED taillight setup for a modern, sophisticated look, along with ‘Skoda’ lettering on the tailgate.

Inside, the 2026 Skoda Kodiaq boasts a premium cabin with a sophisticated design. The dashboard hosts large displays and physical controls in a balanced manner, while taking the centre stage is a large touchscreen infotainment system, with rotary dials to control the climate control setting just below. You also have a two-spoke steering wheel, a digital instrument cluster and plenty of soft-touch materials inside.

In terms of equipment, it gets a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, heated and auto-dimming ORVMs, a 13-speaker CANTON sound system, 12-way powered front seats with ventilation, heating, and massage functions, a panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate, three-zone climate control, auto-dimming IRVM, and wireless phone charger.

Safety is taken care of by 9 airbags, hill start assist, hill descent control, 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, and a park assist system. With this update, Skoda has added Level 2 ADAS features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind spot detection, front warning assist, and rear cross traffic alert.

The Kodiaq remains powered by the sole 2-litre turbo-petrol engine, which is mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox and an all-wheel drive system as standard. Here are its detailed engine specifications:
|

2-litre turbo-petrol TSI |

The Skoda Kodiaq continues to rival popular cars like the Volkswagen Tayron R-Line, Jeep Meridian, MG Gloster and Toyota Fortuner. It will also compete with the upcoming MG Majestor.
Skoda had launched the Kodiaq alongside some of its siblings from Volkswagen, and there were some features that were missing from the start. This update makes the Kodiaq feel a bit fresher with the addition of ADAS, while continuing with the elegant and sportier design and a performance-friendly engine. It still retains its personality of a feature-loaded, luxurious, spacious, full-size family-friendly SUV in a design that stands out from other SUVs on the road. Even though Skoda has really worked a lot on the Kodiaq, the sales figures have never supported it. But will this 2026 update improve Kodiaq’s sales numbers? We will have to wait to find that out.
