This bit of news is sure to get two-stroke enthusiasts excited. German company Ronax GmbH has announced that it plans to launch a road legal two-stroke sports bike on June 8. The new motorcycle will be based on the iconic NSR500 Grand Prix racing bike that was piloted by none other than Valentino Rossi himself. It was the last occasion that a two-stroke powered bike ever won a championship in the premiere class as MotoGP shifted to four-stroke engines from the following years. As of now, the company has released a teaser image of a bike snuggly wrapped under a yellow cover.

From the silhouette one can make out design similarities between the race bike and the upcoming motorcycle such as the ram air intake duct in the nose of the fairing alongwith two exhaust pipes on the right-hand side of the machine with a further two under the tail unit.  Since the bike is road legal it has been equipped with rear-view mirrors as seen in the pictures. No details on the power figures or the platform have been released yet but what we know is that it will be powered by a 500cc, two-stroke, V-4 mill and performance will sure be ballistic. Another aspect that Ronax has been closely working on is to keep the weight of the bike as low as possible and has crafted the motorcycle using lightweight materials.

The new bike according to the manufacturer is dual-purpose and with a few alterations it can be a street bike or track conquering machine, and we will definitely prefer it in the latter state of tune and an empty track all by ourselves. Since the bike is based on Valentino Rossi’s championship winning machine it is expected that it will be finished in the same shade of bright yellow. Also the two-stroke bike will be limited to just 46 units and we are sure you don’t need reasoning for that. Be ready to shell out a premium as this two-stroke sportsbike wouldn’t be cheap by any means.
