Programmable ECU for the Yamaha YZF-R15
Brainchild of a man named Joel Joseph from Bangalore, who has been responsible for giving Ten10 Racing Team the National Championship crown in 2010, Race Concepts is a one-stop-shop to get performance upgrades for most of the Indian premium motorcycles available in the market today. Available in three stages, the big-bore kits can be purchased directly as a complete package or gradually up the performance in three stages from basic to intermediate to pro levels. The upgrades are simple bolt-on kits and require no major modifications to the motorcycles.

Available off the shelf, the firm’s product line-up includes free-flow air-filters from Simota, programmable ECUs, performance camshafts, racing valve springs, racing clutch springs, free-flow racing exhaust systems as well as bigger carburetors for carburetor-fed motorcycles. Those looking for gradually upgrading their motorcycles have the choice to opt for one upgrade at a time instead of having to go for the complete big-bore kit. The big-bore kits are available for all performance motorcycles in the country including 150cc machines like the FZ16 to top performers like the Yamaha TZF-R15, the Pulsar 220 DTSi or the Hero Honda Karizma R.

The grease monkey Joel Joseph has been the chief engineer for Ten10 Racing team and has been solely responsible for developing their 2010 National Championship winning race-machine, Ten10 Racing’s YZF-R15 raced in the Group B - Upto 165cc 4-stroke Expert (Fully modified class) – the premier class in the National Racing Championship. Not just that be he is also technically involved in the prestigious MotoGP World Championship in association with WTR-Ten10 Racing Team. With such strong credentials and tried and tested results on his race-developed parts, there is nothing really to doubt the performance of parts stocked by Race Concepts. What many would worry about is the drop in reliability but Joel has personally tuned the parts for the street to keep the performance achievable without compromising on road-reliability.

We reviewed a full exhaust system from Race Concepts on one of our staffer’s 2007 Bajaj Pulsar 200 DTSi and the results have been very impressive. Not only was the Race Concepts exhaust system about 6kg lighter than the stock exhaust on the Pulsar 220/200, but it significantly improved the mid-range grunt on the Bajaj Pulsar 200 DTSi. The pull from 40km/h onwards to 120km/h was noticeably quicker over the stock machine. Pricing of the after-market parts from Race Concepts too is extremely competitive and not exorbitant for the performance they offer. Be it for drag racing, track riding or street bragging rights, the Race Concepts equipment is the real deal. Complete parts listing from Race Concepts on next page.
