BS6-compliant Maruti Suzuki Wagon R CNG Launched At Rs 5.25 Lakh

Maruti Suzuki has finally launched the BS6 variants of the Wagon R CNG hatchback in India. The updated S-CNG variants are priced at Rs 5.25 lakh and Rs 5.32 lakh for the LXI and LXI (O) trims respectively. Prices for the updated BS6 variants are up by Rs 19,000. Here’s a detailed price list:

The Wagon R CNG comes with a BS6-compliant 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine, which produces 59PS of power and 78Nm of torque in CNG mode. In petrol mode, this powertrain develops 68PS of power and 90Nm of torque. These figures are equivalent to the BS4 version of the Wagon R CNG, which is offered with a 5-speed manual only.
Maruti Suzuki claims a fuel economy of 32.52km per kg. The BS6 CNG Wagon R is equipped with a 60-litre CNG tank in addition to a petrol tank. The CNG fuel system gets an independent electronic control unit (ECU) and electronically controlled injection.
Maruti has said the S-CNG Wagon R’s launch is part of the company’s ‘Mission Green Million’ initiative announced at Auto Expo 2020. It locks horns with the Hyundai Santro CNG variant.
