Consists of 3 production ready electric vehicles as well as one electric concept car

  • The new electric concept looks more like an electric XUV500.
  • The XUV300 Electric sketch features a different front grille compared to its standard counterpart.
  • The other two sketches are the eKUV100 and the ATOM concept.
  • Mahindra plans to showcase up to 18 vehicles at Auto Expo 2020.

Mahindra’s lineup for Auto Expo 2020 is set to be packed with upto 18 vehicles including  EVs, facelifts and next-gen iterations for current vehicles. And now, the carmaker has given us a teaser of what to expect from the EV side with 4 design sketches revealed. Here’s what they could be:

The first design sketch looks like what could be the all-new electric concept car announced by Mahindra. While it features a similar front grille to the XUV300, it gets a different front design and has a bigger overall silhouette in comparison. This concept could potentially be a preview for the next-gen XUV500

The next design sketch looks the XUV300 Electric slated for a 2021 launch. The design sketch does reveal a tweaked grille design, probably to give it its own identity. It could be powered by a 132PS electric motor, juiced up by a 40kWh battery, with a range of more than 300km. It’s main rival is expected to be the recently launched Nexon EV

Third on the teaser sketch is unmistakably the eKUV100 with its small, hatchback-like proportions. The carmaker claims a travel range of 140km and fast-charging capabilities to give it a 0-80 per cent charge in less than an hour. It is slated for a summer 2020 launch with prices likely to start around  Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.

Heading into the fourth and final design sketch is the ATOM EV concept, that was earlier showcased at Auto Expo 2018. Its electric powertrain features swappable batteries to extend the vehicle’s range. Yes, the mini three-seater may look like a battery powered toy car, it is a part of the carmaker’s vision for last-mile connectivity.

Aside from these, also expect some wacky concepts to feature at the expo. These include the the Stinger, which is essentially a drop top TUV300, as well as the UDO concept.
