Husqvarna which was acquired by KTM last year has released a press release stating that it would unveil three new motorcycles at the upcoming 2014 EICMA motorcycle show scheduled next month at Milan, Italy. Out of the three new offerings, one will be a high displacement street bike while the rest two motorcycles are expected to be concept bikes.
It is speculated that the new high displacement street bike will most likely be a production version of the “701 Prototype” that was showcased at the 2013 EICMA motorcycle show. The new bike will be most likely powered by the 690cc, single-cylinder motor as found on the KTM 690 Duke but will be tuned for higher power output. It will also employ the same trellis frame as seen on the 690 Duke. But in terms of styling it will be radically different from the KTM offering. It is also expected that the Husqvarna motorcycle will be loaded with top-of-the-shelf cycle parts and electronic goodies.
The Swedish bikemaker hasn’t divulged many details about the two concept bikes apart from stating that they would be modern concepts for future models. It is expected that the concept motorcycles will showcase lightweight construction and give us a preview into the design language of future generation Husqvarna’s. More details on the bike when they make their official debut at the 2014 EICMA Motorcycle show next month.
