Honda 2Wheelers has launched the 'Deluxe' edition of the Honda Dio, featuring a host of new features and cosmetic upgrades. The company has set a price tag of Rs 53,292 (ex-Delhi), a hike of Rs 2,996 over the standard model.
While the standard model comes with an LED strip on the handlebar, the Deluxe version now features LED headlamps too in place of the conventional bulbs used earlier for the headlight. It also gets a fully digital instrument console, now with a service reminder indicator. In terms of cosmetic changes, the Deluxe edition gets new, racier decals. The scooter also gets the four-in-one ignition key with seat-release button seen on the Honda Grazia. The Deluxe version also gets four additional colours: Metallic Yellow, Metallic Green, Black and Metallic Grey.
Mechanically, it continues to be powered by the same 109.19cc single-cylinder engine, which makes 8PS of power at 7000rpm and 8.91Nm of torque at 5500rpm.
The scooter gets an underbone-type chassis with a multi-link suspension at the front and a monoshock unit at the back. Braking is handled by130mm drum brakes on both wheels, with the assistance of Combined Braking System (CBS). Its 90/100 10-inch wheels come wrapped in MRF tubeless tyres. It gets a 5.3-litre fuel tank and tips the scales at 104 kg (dry).
The new Honda Dio Deluxe is expected to hit showrooms in the upcoming weeks. It competes against the Yamaha Ray-Z, TVS Wego and the Suzuki Let's. Honda also offers a ‘Deluxe’ version on the new Activa 5G.
