Apollo tyres to enter two-wheeler market

Apollo is among the biggest players in the Indian tyre industry but has been focussing their attention towards passenger cars and commercial vehicles. According to our sources Apollo tyres are focusing on the enthusiast segment of two-wheelers which means we are looking at motorcycles above 300cc displacement.

The new range of Apollo tyres will compete against the likes of Pirelli and Metzeler. Given the fact that sales of performance motorcycles is growing at a steady rate demand for premium tyres has seen a huge jump. But the fact remains that premium tyres are quite expensive and given the fact that tyres among the most commonly wearable parts of a bike consumers were looking for a cheaper alternative. The fact that Apollo tyres will be manufactured in India will give them the benefit of pricing with respect to its international rivals while offering good grip and performance. Apart from being cheaper than its rivals, Apollo tyres also have the benefit of availability.
