Kia India is all set to take the wraps off the facelifted Seltos in the country on July 4. And if you had your eyes on one, you’d be happy to know that some dealerships have commenced bookings for the updated SUV. This will be the first facelift for the nameplate in India and here are 5 things it will get over the current model.

Note: Creta's sunroof image used for representation purposes.
The Seltos’ sunroof will grow larger in size and it will get a panoramic unit instead of the single-pane sunroof found on the current model. Not only does that up the premium appeal, but it’ll give the cabin a more airy feel as well.
The Seltos’ safety suite will get a big boost thanks to the addition of ADAS features, a first for a mass market Kia in the country. The suite is expected to be similar to the 2023 Hyundai Verna, which consists of features such as lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, forward collision avoidance assist, and blind spot monitoring.
In certain angles, the facelifted Seltos’ exterior might look very similar to the current model. However, its interior is expected to be heavily redesigned with dual screens comprising the touchscreen infotainment system and digital driver’s display. Its orientation will be very similar to the EV6, which adds to the premium appeal.
The Kia Seltos already got a 140PS 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine that was discontinued recently. With the facelift, the Korean marque will plonk in a more powerful 160PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, paired with either an iMT or a dual-clutch automatic transmission. It will be sold alongside the existing 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines.

With the mandatory six airbag rule coming in October, the Seltos’ safety should get a boost in the form of six airbags standard across the board. Currently, the SUV gets four airbags as standard while higher-end trims get additional curtain airbags.

These are the five things the facelifted Kia Seltos will get over the current model. Its prices are expected to be announced post its global debut and it could command a notable premium over the model on sale that starts from Rs 10.89 lakh (ex-showroom). It will renew its rivalry with the Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, VW Taigun, Maruti Grand Vitara as well as the upcoming Honda Elevate and Citroen C3 Aircross.
