US based Erick Buell Racing (EBR), of which Hero MotoCorp owns 49.2 per cent stake unveiled its latest streetbike offering. EBR surprised auto journalists, who had gathered at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the media ride of the EBR 1190RX as it unveiled the 2015 Erik Buell Racing 1190SX. The new bike is essentially the stripped down version of the EBR 1190RX. In terms of styling, the EBR 1190SX has similar styling details as its faired sibling, the only difference being the lack of fairing and revised headlamp cowl with the traditional vertically stacked twin headlamp.
EBR hasn’t revealed any detail regarding the new motorcycles powerplant but it is assumed that it will be powered by the same 1190cc, liquid-cooled, V-twin motor pumping out 188PS at 10,600rpm and torque rating of 138Nm at 8,2000rpm. It will be interesting to see whether EBR keeps the motor stock or detunes it like other manufacturers for their streetbike offerings. Other notable difference is that EBR has chucked the clip-on bars for traditional flat and wide handlebar, this should enable the rider to have a more upright and comfortable riding posture on the EBR 1190SX.

The EBR 1190SX uses the same aluminum frame chassis with integral fuel reservoir as found on its faired sibling. Suspension duties are handled by Showa sourced inverted big piston front forks and mono-shock setup at rear. Braking is done via a 386mm, single perimeter disc brakes at front and a 220mm single disc unit at rear. The EBR 1190SX is expected to be launched in the US markets by end of 2014 and should be priced below the Rs 11.2 lakh (excluding taxes and duties), which is the price at what the EBR 1190RX retails.
