Riding gloves meant for daily use and touring have to walk a fine line. They need to offer solid protection without becoming too bulky or uncomfortable for long hours in traffic or on the highway. Royal Enfield’s Vamos V2 are positioned as a serious all-rounder, aimed at both urban riding and touring duties. On paper, the Vamos V2 comes across as fairly well specced, borrowing several features from more performance-oriented gloves.
Name: Royal Enfield Vamos V2 Riding Gloves
Sizes Available: S-3XL
Price: Rs 6,000
Colours available: Red, Black

Material - Full leather outer shell, water-repellent textile, breathable polyester panels

Protection - Carbon fibre knuckle and finger protectors, TPU palm sliders, leather bridge between ring and little finger
Size tested - L
Flex zones - Accordion stretch panels and flexible inserts at articulation points
Pros - Excellent dexterity; lightweight
Cons - Light-coloured leather discolours easily; faces stiff competition at this price point

The Vamos V2 follow a clean, functional everyday leather glove styling. The full leather construction gives the gloves a reassuring, premium feel, while the textile and polyester panels help improve flexibility and comfort. Protective elements like the carbon fibre knuckle guards are neatly integrated into the design. My red-black-white colour test unit looks rather sporty I must say.
The gloves are CE Level 1 certified and even have carbon fibre protectors across the knuckles and fingers, offering rigid impact resistance. TPU palm sliders help reduce friction during a slide and limit stress transfer to the wrist.

The leather bridge between the ring and little finger is a welcome addition, borrowing from higher-end and race-spec gloves. It reinforces the Vamos V2’s safety-focused approach and adds an extra layer of confidence.
Sizing is spot on. My size L pair fits exactly as it should…it fits like a glove. They feel secure without being restrictive, and there’s no excess material bunching up at the fingertips.

I used the gloves for 8 days during the Royal Enfield Tour Of Sikkim 2025 ride in consistently cold conditions. Despite not being winter gloves and being perforated (ventilated), my hands stayed warm for the most part. On a couple of colder days, I did feel a slight chill, but never to the point of discomfort, freezing or cramps.
One of the standout aspects is flexibility. The gloves are lightweight and fairly thin, which means lever and throttle feel isn’t dulled. Dexterity remains excellent, whether it’s fine throttle inputs, clutch modulation or general hand movement during long riding days.

Touchscreen compatibility is another strong point. The touch panels on both index fingers work reliably with my phone, eliminating the need to pull the gloves off for quick navigation checks or calls.
The only noticeable downside from real-world use is durability of the lighter leather sections. The white leather on the pinky finger bridge started showing signs of discolouration within 4 days of riding, which could bother riders who like their gear looking fresh.

The next phase will focus on long-term durability, heat management in peak summer conditions and how the leather holds up with daily use. That should paint a clearer picture of whether the Vamos V2 can truly justify its asking price over time.
