Riding pants in the touring category are expected to be versatile. They should be comfortable enough for daily city use, protective enough for highway runs, and ventilated enough to handle Indian heat. Royal Enfield’s Tripper pants aim to fill that middle ground, offering a touring-oriented design without going full hardcore adventure spec.

Cons - Mesh-heavy construction may not feel as confidence-inspiring as textile-heavy touring pants

The Tripper pants follow a clean, functional design, with an understated look that pairs easily with most riding jackets. Interchangeable velcro strips in four colours (red, neon yellow, baby blue, black) at the knees add a subtle element of personalization while keeping the overall aesthetic streamlined. A design motif near the right pocket opening serves as a heritage-inspired detail, echoing the Royal Enfield Classic 350’s side panel. Reflective detailing is neatly integrated at the hems for added visibility in low light
Comfort and mobility appear to be key priorities. The combination of mesh, stretch panels, and pre-curved legs allows for good freedom of movement on the bike. Adjustable tabs at the waist, calves, and hems help fine-tune the fit. The calf straps should’ve been placed lower as they dig into the back of your knee exactly where they fold. The hem opening is wide enough to comfortably fit over even bulky adventure boots.

The Tripper comes equipped with CE Level 2 armour at both the knees and hips, which is reassuring at this price point. The pants are also CE-certified to Class A standards, meaning they meet baseline requirements for abrasion and tear resistance for road use.
I used the Tripper pants during the Royal Enfield Tour Of Sikkim 2025 ride in the chilly Himalayas. Despite being heavily mesh-based and clearly designed with ventilation in mind, the pants never made me feel uncomfortably cold, even without any dedicated thermal inner layer.

Wind chill was present at higher altitudes, of course, but never to the point where it became distracting or uncomfortable while riding. The reinforced textile zones and overall construction do a decent job of blocking direct airflow when required.
Comfort over long hours in the saddle was good. The feather-light weight and stretch panels helped reduce fatigue. The armour stayed in place without creating any sort of pressure points.

The next phase of testing will focus on hot-weather commuting, and overall day-to-day usability. Ventilation performance in summer, and material durability will ultimately determine how well the Tripper justifies its place in this competitive segment.
