BREAKING: 2026 Suzuki Burgman Street Launched In India

Suzuki has given its popular maxi-style scooter a timely refresh with the launch of the 2026 Suzuki Burgman Street in India. Offered in two variants: Ride Connect and Ride Connect TFT Edition, priced at Rs 1,04,944 and Rs 1,13,220 (ex-showroom, Delhi), respectively. The updated scooter brings in a mix of cosmetic tweaks, feature additions and mechanical revisions.

Sharper Design, Same Maxi DNA

The most noticeable update comes in the form of a redesigned fascia. The scooter now gets a split LED headlight setup with integrated DRLs, giving it a more aggressive and modern look. The taillight design has also been updated and is now an inverted U-shaped unit.

Suzuki has also revised the side panels, lending the scooter a fresher look overall. That said, the silhouette remains unchanged and continues to carry that unmistakable Burgman maxi-scooter stance.

In terms of colours, the standard Ride Connect variant is offered in shades like Pearl Grace White, Metallic Mat Stellar Blue, Metallic Royal Bronze, Metallic Mat Black and Pearl Mat Shadow Green. The TFT variant swaps the green shade for Metallic Mat Platinum Silver and further enhances its looks with bright bronze accents.

Feature-Loaded, Especially in the TFT Trim

This is where the update feels more substantial. The top-spec variant now gets a 4.2-inch TFT display, similar to the one seen on the Suzuki Access 125 and the Suzuki e-Access. It supports smartphone connectivity via Suzuki’s dedicated app, unlocking additional information and connectivity features.

Other notable additions include keyless ignition, a multifunction starter switch and an external fuel filler cap positioned under the taillight. The scooter also offers two cubby holes on the apron and now has an increased underseat storage capacity of 24.6 litres, up from the earlier 21.5 litres.

Tweaked Engine for Better City Performance

While the 124cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine remains unchanged in terms of hardware, Suzuki has made minor tweaks to its output. It now produces 8.42PS at 6,500rpm and 10.2Nm at 5,250rpm.

On paper, the power figure has dropped slightly by 0.2PS, but the torque has gone up by 0.2Nm and now arrives 250rpm earlier. Suzuki claims this change improves acceleration in the 30-60kmph range, something that should translate into better real-world rideability in city conditions.

Familiar Hardware With Minor Improvements

The Burgman Street continues with its tried-and-tested underpinnings, including a telescopic fork and a monoshock. Suzuki says the suspension has been retuned to offer improved comfort.

One key update, however, is the switch to 12-inch wheels at both ends, replacing the earlier 12-inch front and 10-inch rear setup. Braking duties are still handled by a front disc and a rear drum brake, paired with CBS. All said and done, the seat height is now 775mm (down by 5mm) and the kerb weight has gone up. The base variant weighs 114kg and the top variant weighs 115 kg (up by 4kg and 5 kg, respectively).

ZigSays

The Burgman Street has long been the go-to option for buyers looking for a maxi-style scooter, and these updates only make it more appealing. The addition of a TFT display, keyless ignition and increased storage brings it closer to what modern buyers expect in this segment.

That said, the Suzuki Burgman Street EX (priced at Rs 1,07,902 ex-showroom, Delhi) continues unchanged, which means buyers now have more choices within the Burgman lineup depending on their budget and feature preferences.

However, there’s still room for improvement. Given its size and positioning, the absence of single-channel ABS feels like a missed opportunity, especially when some rivals offer more in terms practicality.

Even so, the updated Burgman Street remains a strong contender for those who want a comfortable, stylish and feature-rich urban scooter with a premium feel.
