Just months after a major update, Kawasaki gives its best-selling superbike a fresh splash of colour, right in time for the festive season

It’s only been a few months since Kawasaki launched the heavily updated 2025 Z900 - a bike that brought new features, revised styling, and improved equipment over the 2024 Z900. And now, the Japanese brand has rolled out the 2026 iteration of its popular streetfighter in India. 

This time, the changes are minimal: there are two new colour schemes: Metallic Matte Graphene steel Gray / Metallic Flat Spark Black and Candy Lime Green / Metallic Carbon Gray.

Interestingly, the timing of this launch couldn’t be better. It looks like Kawasaki is trying to cash in on the festive season, introducing the new shades just when buyers are most eager to bring home a shiny and exciting inline-four screamer.

Still The Same, But Still Stunning

Mechanically and feature-wise, the 2026 Kawasaki Z900 remains identical to the 2025 model. It continues with the 948cc inline-four engine producing 124PS and 97.4Nm, paired with a six-speed gearbox and a bidirectional quickshifter. You still get a 5-inch TFT console, cruise control, IMU-based traction control, wheelie control, and four riding modes — all the goodies that were introduced in June. The suspension and chassis setup also remain the same, meaning the Z900 retains its sharp yet approachable handling.

Still A Solid Deal

Apart from the new colours, the reason why 2026 Z900 is Rs 47,000 more than the 2025 version could be due to the GST 2.0 regulation, which has resulted in price hikes for 350cc bikes and above. That said, in our opinion, the premium isn’t substantial enough to dent its value quotient given that it still is under the psychological barrier of Rs 10 lakh.
