Maruti Invicto will be revealed on July 5 and will also go on sale on the same day

  • The Invicto is the first rebadged Toyota model to be sold as a Maruti Suzuki in India.

  • It should use the same powertrain options as the Toyota Innova Hycross.

  • The Invicto will have an extensive feature list like the Toyota’s, with many of them being firsts for Maruti.

  • Expected to be priced from around Rs 19 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.

Customers can now reserve the Maruti Invicto premium MPV at select dealerships for a token amount of up to Rs 51,000, which may vary depending on the region. Invicto, as we already know, is a rebadged version of the Toyota Innova Hycross, and it will be the most expensive Maruti to go on sale in India. Let’s have a brief look at what we know so far.

A Look-alike Of Innova Hycross

Going by what we have seen earlier with the existing rebadged products shared between Maruti and Toyota, the Invicto will get minor changes limited to the grille, wheels and bumpers. You may have a glance at the Maruti Invicto’s first spy images at what seems like a production facility by clicking here.

Small Alterations Inside

The Invicto’s interior will be almost identical to that of the Innova Hycross, with alterations limited to colour scheme and upholstery. Having said that, the Invicto's feature list is expected to be as extensive as Toyota's, with many of them being firsts for Maruti.

Maruti’s premium MPV should be loaded with amenities such as a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment, digital driver’s display, wireless phone charger, dual-zone climate control, powered driver’s seat with memory function and semi-powered captain seats with ottomans (for the captain row seats) and powered tailgate. It doesn’t end here, as the Invicto will be the first ever Maruti offering to get the ADAS tech.

For the propulsion duties, the Invicto should use the same 176PS 2-litre petrol and 186PS 2-litre strong-hybrid powertrain options as the Innova Hycross. The former will be mated to a CVT gearbox, while the latter will use an e-CVT transmission.

The Contenders It Will Take On

Apart from the Hycross, the Invicto will also serve as a premium alternative to the Kia Carens, Mahindra Marazzo and Toyota Innova Crysta

It is expected to be priced in the same ballpark as the Innova Hycross, which ranges from Rs 18.55 lakh to Rs 29.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
