In another round of crash tests by Bharat NCAP, Maruti Suzuki Invicto has crash tests with a squeaky clean 5-star safety rating. Put to the test in its Alpha+ 7-seater and Zeta+ 8-seater variants, the Invicto not only showed itself to be spacious and comfortable but also big on safety. It received 30.43 points out of 32 for adult protection and 45 out of 49 for child occupant protection, making it part of India's safest car club.
For a three-row family mover, that's a gigantic confidence builder. Let's have a look at the detailed crash test report:
Rating: 30.43/32 – Near Flawless
The Invicto performed well in the frontal offset crash test, safeguarding the head, neck, knees, and tibias of both the driver and passenger. The driver's chest was "adequate", and the rest returned "good." What is critical, though, is that the bodyshell and footwell were stamped as stable, reflecting the solid build of the Invicto.

Invicto performed well in the side impact test with "good" protection all over the important areas. Even when tested in a tough side pole, it performed well, demonstrating MPVs need not be vulnerable spots in case of side crashes.
Rating: 45/49 – Quite Good
With rearward-facing ISOFIX mounts as standard and tested with 18-month and 3-year rearward-facing dummies, the Invicto earned up to a maximum of points in dynamic crash performance. Side and frontal impacts scored perfectly.

It also excelled in CRS installation checks in various types of seats, making it one of the safest family choices. The only minor miss? Certain models don't come with a front passenger airbag cut-off switch, limiting rear-facing child seat installation in the front. Nevertheless, in rows two and three, it's as family-friendly as it comes.
The Maruti Invicto is also equipped strongly in safety, with a solid package that emphasises basic protection. Six airbags that protect the front, side, and curtain are standard across all variants, making occupant protection complete.
Electronic Stability Control (ESC) is available on all trims and assists in helping the vehicle stay stable during difficult driving situations.

The vehicle also comes equipped with all-seats seatbelt reminders and a pedestrian protection system in line with UN regulations, highlighting its dedication to passenger as well as pedestrian safety.
Although the Invicto does not come with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), its strategy is pragmatic, covering all the basic safety essentials across all variants within its class.
The Invicto is positioned as a premium MPV in Maruti’s lineup, priced between Rs 24.97 lakh to Rs 28.61 lakh (ex-showroom). That puts it head-to-head with the Toyota Innova Hycross, MG Hector Plus, and Tata Safari in its higher trims.
Among them, few can boast such strong safety credentials paired with a hybrid drivetrain and Maruti’s massive service network.
As we know that under badge-engineering understanding, the Maruti Suzuki Invicto is a rebadged Toyota Innova Hycross. The Hycross was tested sometime in June, you can read the detailed story here and the scores are almost same, since they are the same cars. With near-perfect adult scores and great protection for children, it's one of the safest family cars available to buy right now.
Of course, it doesn't yet boast ADAS bragging rights, but when the fundamentals are this robust, that's not a deal-breaker.
If you were apprehensive about driving your family of six or seven in a large Maruti, this 5-star Bharat NCAP rating is your green signal.
