Nissan recently launched the facelifted Magnite in India at a very attractive introductory price. With the facelifted version, it got minor updates to the exterior and some new premium touches in the interior. In this article, we will be comparing its specifications with the popular Tata Punch micro SUV which comes at a similar price and offers a rather comparable package as a whole. Read on to find out where you should put your money.

We think that the extra features that are on the Magnite’s side are more essential and necessary, compared to the Punch’s feel-good features. What do you think? Let us know in the comments section below.

The Punch is offered with the larger engine, but it is the turbo-charged petrol engine of the Magnite which generates the most output. The Magnite also offers a CVT gearbox option for those who want a smoother automatic transmission option. The Nissan also gets an additional engine option in the form of the NA petrol unit, which is available with the same transmission options as the Tata Punch.
Apart from the abovementioned powertrain, the Punch is also available with a factory-fitted CNG kit. There is no CNG option available with the Magnite.
The Tata Punch directly rivals the Hyundai Exter, Renault Kiger and Maruti Suzuki Ignis. The Magnite on the other hand, locks horns with the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Fronx, Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon and Mahindra XUV 3XO.
