While convertibles might not be a common sight on Indian roads, they still hold strong appeal for enthusiasts who enjoy open-top driving. While they still remain niche due to price, road conditions, and practicality, a handful of models are officially on sale today.
Here's a straightforward look at 5 convertibles you can buy in India right now, plus a bonus for buyers who want the absolute maximum in luxury.
Price: Rs 75 Lakh
The MG Cyberster is India's first all-electric convertible. It comes with a 77 kWh battery powering a dual-motor setup that develops 510 PS and 725 Nm. MG claims a 0–100 kmph time of around 3.2 seconds.
While it's far more expensive than MG's usual lineup, the Cyberster stands out by offering open-top motoring without fuel consumption. It is also one of the quickest EVs MG has ever sold. It is worth noting that the first lot of the MG Cyberster is already sold out in India.

Price: Rs 87.90 lakh- Rs 92.60 lakh
BMW continues to offer the Z4 in India, among the few classic two-seat roadsters still available. It features a 3.0-litre inline-six turbocharged petrol engine producing 340 PS and 500 Nm. 0–100 kmph comes up in 4.5 seconds.
The Z4 is relatively compact, easy to use in daily traffic, and even available with a manual gearbox for enthusiasts. It is one of the best choices for buyers who wish to have a more classic roadster feel.

The Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolet is a global replacement for both the C-Class and E-Class convertibles. The model offered in India gets a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol unit with a mild-hybrid system, good for 259 PS and 400 Nm. Power is channelled through Mercedes' 4MATIC AWD system.
The focus here is comfort and refinement rather than outright performance. The soft-top opens or closes in under 20 seconds, and the cabin carries Mercedes' latest design with premium materials and a portrait-style touchscreen.

Price: Rs 2.47 crore
The Mercedes-AMG SL 55 is a performance convertible with a long heritage. It gets a 4.0-litre twin turbo V8 putting out 476 PS and 700 Nm, paired with AMG's 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system. It does 0-100 kmph in 3.9 seconds.
Despite the performance, the SL 55 is also designed for relaxed long-distance cruising. The interior mixes luxury features from larger Mercedes models with AMG-specific sport elements.

Price: Rs 4 crore +
The Huracan Evo Spyder comes fitted with a 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 producing 640 PS and 600 Nm. It sprints from 0–100 kmph in just 3.1 seconds.
This model prioritises performance and drama over practicality. With the open-top configuration, the engine's sound becomes even more emotive, making it one of the most emotional driving experiences available in India.

Price: Rs 4.35 crore
The Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 is an even more exclusive, ultra-luxurious version of the AMG SL. It also gets the same 4.0-litre V8, but the power is tuned to 585 PS and 800 Nm.
Apart from the performance upgrade, it gets Maybach-specific materials, design elements, and interior appointments. It's more about comfort and exclusivity rather than outright sportiness.

Ideally, it was on sale in India or maybe still is, but only ONE unit was allocated to India, which was reportedly sold out. Exclusivity, 1-of-1!
Convertibles remain a niche segment in India, although the current crop in dealerships covers everything from an all-electric MG Cyberster to high-performance options like the Huracan Spyder to ultra-luxury options like the Maybach SL 680. For those buyers who would want to experience open-top motoring, here's what's available today through official channels.
