Suzuki Motorcycle India has issued a recall for several units of its 125cc scooters. The models in question are the Suzuki Burgman 125, Suzuki Access 125 and the Suzuki Avenis 125. The respective customers will get notified by mail and the affected models will have to be brought to the nearest Suzuki service centres.
The recall has been issued for models manufactured between April 30 and December 3, 2022 and in that period, Suzuki manufactured 72,025 units of the Suzuki Burgman 125, 2,63,788 units of Suzuki Access 125 and 52,578 units of the Suzuki Avenis 125, and. The Japanese manufacturer has also recalled units of the Suuzki V-Strom 800 DE manufactured between May 5 2023 to April 23 2024. Suzuki manufactured 67 units of the ADV during that period of time.

We have reached out to Suzuki regarding the recall and have been told that there are no specific safety issues or complications with the scooters. The recall has just been issued as a precautionary measure. Also, the manufacturer has relayed to us that the V-Strom 800 DE has been recalled due to an issue with the tread of its tyres.

Suzuki recently launched the V-Strom 800 DE in India, replacing the Suzuki V-Strom 650XT in the manufacturer’s lineup. Its 10,30,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) price tag makes it cheaper than the Honda XL750 Transalp, BMW F 850 GS and the Triumph Tiger 900 by Rs 70,000, Rs 2.65 lakh and Rs 3.40 lakh respectively. It comes to India by the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route.
