Bengaluru-based Simple Energy has announced that it will commence deliveries of the Simple One e-scooter from June 2022. The startup launched its flagship product on August 15 last year and started pre-booking for a token of Rs 1947.

Simple Energy has constantly been working on its e-scooter, and in December, we broke the news that the Simple One would get more performance in its production guise. In a tweet, the CEO and co-founder of Simple Energy, Suhas Rajkumar, stated that the e-scooter will be getting some upgrades in the coming months. In fact, the company is testing the e-scooter in different cities to understand the various conditions it would be subjected to daily.

At the launch, Simple Energy claimed that the e-scooter can sprint from 0-40kmph in 2.95 seconds. The Simple One also has an ARAI-tested range of 230km and a claimed real-world range of 203km. It also boasts a claimed top speed of 105kmph.

Simple Energy says it has received over 30,000 pre-bookings to date. The Simple One will be manufactured in their Hosur facility with an annual capacity of 1 million units. The company has also commissioned a new plant in Tamil Nadu capable of producing 12.5 million units annually.

The Simple One locks horns with Ather 450X and Ola Electric S1 Pro. While Ather Energy has been successfully expanding to multiple cities, Ola Electric customers have faced delayed deliveries and missing features.

Hopefully, Simple Energy’s decision to delay delivery ensures a hiccup-free ownership experience.
