The bike has been spotted testing at multiple occasions

The Royal Enfield Scram has been doing multiple test runs lately and seems like its launch could happen soon. We too have spotted it multiple times and here’s what we know about it so far.

Himalayan-based But No So Touring Focused

While the Scram looks quite similar to the Himalayan, it has an adequately distinctive appearance. For reference, the round halogen headlight is mounted directly to the triple clamp. It doesn’t get the windscreen or the tank brace either. Moreover, it gets a rear grab rail but no luggage rack. It will get the same instrument console, though.

Same Motor As The Sibling

Powering the Scram will be the same 411cc single-cylinder motor from the Himalayan. For the ADV, it develops 24.31PS and 32Nm. However, you can expect the Scram to be a bit more spirited since it’ll be lighter than the Himalayan.

More Road-biased Than Off-road

While it gets the same long-travel suspension and braking hardware as the sibling, the Scram seems to make its not-so-off-road-centric intent clear as it gets a smaller 19-inch front wheel. This should help in steering it quicker than the Himalayan.

A Whole Bunch Of Colours

So far, the Royal Enfield Scram has been spotted in Black, Grey, Blue and Red colours. So, you can expect it to receive a wide range of colour options like most of the bikes in the Royal Enfield bloodline.

Price And Rivals

Expect the Scram to be priced Rs 10,000-15,000 lower than the Himalayan, at around Rs 1.95 lakh (ex-showroom). It’ll rival the upcoming Yezdi Scrambler, which too has been spotted multiple times.
