Range Rover And Range Rover Sport Prices Slashed By Up To Rs 56 Lakh!

If you were planning to bring home either the Land Rover Range Rover or Range Rover Sport, life has probably been rather kind to you, what with you already being one of the few lucky ones who can afford a car that costs more than a conventional flat. And now, it seems like the stars have aligned for you once again, as the prices for the Range Rover have been dropped by up to a mammoth Rs 56 lakh, while the Range Rover Sport now costs up to Rs 29 lakh less than before. 

Given that the festival discounts are still some time away, you must be wondering how this is possible. Thank local manufacturing for this sudden saving. The 3-litre petrol LWB Autobiography and 3-litre diesel LWB HSE variants of the Range Rover, and 3-litre petrol and diesel Dynamic SE variants of the Range Rover Sport will now be assembled at JLR’s Chakan plant in the outskirts of Pune, Maharashtra.

Price

The flagship Range Rover is now more affordable by Rs 56 lakh, while the Sport now costs Rs 29 lakh less than before. The Range Rover and Range Rover Sport join the Velar, Evoque, Jaguar F-PACE and Discovery Sport in the JLR’s lineup of vehicles manufactured locally. 

While these two variants of these models will now be locally manufactured, the rest of their respective variants will continue to make their way via the fully imported route. Manufacturing will continue to take place at Range Rover’s manufacturing home ground in Solihull, UK. But we hope more variants are locally assembled down the line to make them more accessible.

Deliveries for these locally manufactured variants of the Range Rover are already underway, while the Range Rover Sport will start from August 16. They will also be on display at the Range Rover House, which makes its India debut in the coastal town of Alibaug (near Mumbai), where they will be accompanied by the first ever Range Rover model as well. While the flagship SUV rivals the likes of luxury SUVs like the Mercedes-Maybach GLS, Rolls Royce Cullinan, and Bentley Bentayga, the Range Rover Sport takes on the Porsche Cayenne, Mercedes-Benz GLE, and BMW X5.
