Mahindra Introduces New AX5 Select Variant For The XUV700, Makes Panoramic Sunroof More Accessible

Mahindra continues to expand its XUV700 lineup with the introduction of the new AX5 Select (AX5 S) variant. Priced from Rs 16.89 Lakh (ex-showroom), the AX5 S variant is positioned between the AX3 and AX5 variants. It also makes the panoramic sunroof more accessible, targeting a broader audience.

Note that the new AX5 S variant is available only with a 7-seater layout and is offered with both petrol and diesel engine options.

Design-wise, there aren't any changes, and the AX5 S variant gets LED DRLs, 17-inch steel wheels with full-sized wheel covers and LED tail lamps.

The AX5 S gets these features over the AX3: a panoramic sunroof (making it more accessible), dual 10.25-inch dual screen setup for the infotainment system and digital driver’s display and push-button start. It also features connected car technology, wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 6-speaker sound system. 

On the safety front, it gets ABS with EBD, dual front airbags, electronic stability control and ISOFIX mounts for child seats. 

The XUV AX5 S is offered with two engine options: 200 PS/380 Nm 2-litre turbo-petrol engine and 185/450 Nm PS 2.2-litre diesel engine. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission. 

The 7-seater variants of the XUV700 rival the likes of the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and Hyundai Alcazar, while the 5-seater variants lock horns with the Tata Harrier, MG Hector, Hyundai Creta, and Kia Seltos.
