5 Interesting Details You Need To Know About Honda’s 250cc Cruiser

Last week, Honda launched the 2021 Rebel 250 in Japan with some minor updates. The bike looks a bit more appealing than before, and it already has a fairly decent fanbase in India as well. But what does it have to offer in its latest iteration?

Proper Cruiser Ergos

Just a glance at the Rebel 250 is enough to tell you how relaxed its rider triangle will be. The low slung seat, tall handlebar and the neutrally set footpegs should make it a breeze to ride. Moreover, the rider seat appears to be quite roomy too.

Fairly Modern Features

Under its retro cruiser guise, the 250cc Japanese cruiser packs fairly modern components. You get a quad-projector headlight and LED illumination all around. Even the instrument console on the Honda Rebel 250 is a fully digital unit housing a speedometer, gear position indicator, fuel level reading, time and a trip meter readout.

Motor And Underpinnings

As the name says, the baby Rebel is powered by a 249cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor with a claimed output of 26PS and 22Nm. It’s nestled in a diamond-type frame suspended on a conventional fork and twin rear springs. It gets disc brakes at both ends.

Variants And Colours

Honda offers the Rebel 250 in two variants: Standard and S. The only difference between the two trims is inclusion of a diamond-quilted rider seat, fork gaiters and a headlamp cowl on the S variant. The bike is available in two colours: Matt Axis Grey Metallic with tan brown seats, and the newly launched Pearl Spencer Blue. 

Price

In Japan, the 2021 Honda Rebel 250 is priced at JPY 5,99,500 (roughly Rs 3.94 lakh). Considering what’s on offer, we feel that the asking price is way too high. So, it’s unlikely to land on Indian shores. However, Honda could very well launch the bigger Rebel 500 in India sometime next year.
