In an attempt to make the C3 Aircross appeal to a larger audience, Citroen will soon introduce the option of a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission for the SUV. Units of the same have now started to reach dealerships ahead of its launch on January 29, and you can even try and get test drives of the automatic SUV. This is the same transmission offered in the Indonesia-spec C3 Aircross and bookings for the Indian offering are already open.

The C3 Aircross is powered by a 110PS 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, and it is expected that the automatic transmission will be paired with the same engine, featuring similar powertrain figures. It is just that the 6-speed manual will now be available alongside a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Of course, there are going to be no visual changes in the exterior and interior styling of the SUV, which poses a unique three-row layout in the compact SUV segment, which includes the likes of the 2024 Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and more. The SUV shares the same platform as the C3 hatchback and borrows most of its interior design cues from it. Currently, prices for the C3 Aircross SUV juggle between Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 12.74 lakh (ex-showroom). But we expect the automatic variants to carry a premium of at least around Rs 1 lakh over the corresponding manual trims. The Citroen C3 Aircross will continue to rival the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Maruti Grand Vitara, while offering an alternative to the MPVs like the Maruti Ertiga, XL6, and Kia Carens.
