With its refreshed design and updated interior, the Tata Altroz has stepped things up in its segment. It also presents a much better offering than its sibling, the Punch. While they belong to different segments, both are attractive options within a similar price range. In this read, we highlight eight features that the 2025 Altroz offers but the Punch misses out on, here's a look at them:
The 2025 Altroz facelift gets flush-fitted door handles, while the Punch features traditional ones. These flush handles enhance the Altroz’s visual appeal, adding a premium touch. Additionally, the flush door handles on the Altroz facelift are illuminated, further complementing its design.
The facelifted Altroz also features a connected LED tail light system, which the Punch does not offer. The Punch does have LED tail lights, even though it lacks the connected LED setup. Additionally, the connected LED tail lights add a modern touch to the rear profile and seamlessly blend with the overall design of the Altroz.
In terms of convenience, the Punch boasts a 4-inch digital instrument cluster, while the 2025 Altroz facelift comes with a 10.25-inch digital driver's display. It not only provides additional vehicle information but also displays navigation, which will be useful for 2025 Altroz buyers. Notably, both the Punch and Altroz facelift feature a 10.25-inch infotainment system.
Tata Motors has also added ambient lighting to the cabin of the 2025 Altroz facelift. It not only brightens the interior scheme of the hatchback but also creates a pleasant ambiance , especially during nighttime drives. In contrast, the Punch does not offer ambient lighting, and also boasts blacked-out cabin theme with fabric seat upholestry.
The facelifted Altroz also brings an upmarket touch to its interior with an illuminated steering wheel. This not only makes the cabin look more premium but also enhances its visual appeal. In comparison, the Punch gets a simpler three-spoke steering wheel. That said, both Tata models come equipped with steering-mounted controls for added convenience.
Tata will also offer the 2025 Altroz with air purifier in its top-specced Accomplished + S variant. This addition misses out from the Punch. It can be particularly useful for those living in cities with high pollution levels, helping maintain cleaner and healthier cabin air.
Safety-wise, the 2025 Altroz will be offered with six airbags as standard. On the other hand, the Punch comes with only dual airbags, even in its top-spec variants. However, it did score a five-star rating in Global NCAP crash tests conducted in 2021. Common safety features across both models include ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, and rear parking sensors.
The Tata Punch gets a reverse parking camera with guidelines, while the updated Altroz comes with a 360-degree camera system. It provides a surround view while parking your vehicle and can be helpful in tighter spaces.
Pricing-wise, the Tata Punch is priced between Rs. 6.20 lakh and Rs. 10.32 lakh (ex-showroom), while the 2025 Altroz facelift is likely to be priced from Rs. 7 lakh (ex-showroom). With the feature updates, the Altroz facelift overall increases its appeal. But will you choose it over the Punch? Let us know in the comments below.
