2025 Indian Supercross Racing League Season 2 Round 1 Report: BB Racing Walk Away As Big Dogs

The first round of Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL) round 1 concluded at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune with BB Racing leading the championship. Here’s how the races panned out:

Currently, BB Racing has come out on top with a 2 point lead over Indewheelers Motorsports. Here’s a detailed breakdown of the teams and the points:

An unforeseen disruption caused by the Pune rains meant that the six race event had to be shortened down to just three, one per class: the 450cc International Class, the 250cc International Class and the 250cc India Asia Class. But with the rain now making an unexpected presence, the races turned out to be quite exciting. Here’s how they played out:

Race 1

Matt Moss from Australia, racing with BigRock Motorsports won first place on his Kawasaki in the 450cc international class. In second place was former World Motocross MX2 champion Jordie Tixier, racing with the Pune-based BB Racing. 

This race was the most action packed and exciting one. Greg Aranda was off to a good start, securing the holeshot. But a mistake down the line allowed Matt Moss to get a lead on him. The highlight of the race, though, was from Jordie Tixier who, despite a bad start that saw him in 11th position, fought his way through to finish second.

Race 2

In the 250cc international class, Hunter Schlosser from BB Racing took home the win. Schlosser managed to come out on top, with a good start winning the holeshot. But he had to fight hard to maintain his position initially, battling with Calvin Fonvieille from Indewheelers Motorsports, who secured second. 

Later, Schlosser managed to get a 2-second lead against Fonvieille but ended up stalling his bike in one during the last 2 minutes. But Fonvielle wasn't able to close the gap and overtake Schlosser. This back-and-forth between the two riders was definitely the highlight of this race. For perspective, both had a 10 second lead over Mikael Lamarque who was in third place.

Race 3

The race started with Mohammed Zidane winning the holeshot, and getting a good lead on the other riders. He was closely followed by Ben Hallgren from Gujarat Trailblazers and  Witsarut Salangam from Indewheelers motorsports. During the initial stages, Indian rider Rugved Barguje managed to secure 5th, while Prajwal Vishwanath was in 11th and Ikshan Shanbhag was in 12th.

Mohammed Zidane had a crash in the later part of the race, which allowed Hallgren to pass him and secure first. Hallgren and Delvintor Alfarizi from Gujarat Trailblazers secured first and second respectively, giving the team 37 points, catapulting them into 3rd place with 73 points. Witsarut Salangam from Indewheelers motorsports finished 3rd. Indian riders Ikshan Shanbhag finished 9th, followed by Prajwal Vishwanath in 10th and Rugved Barguje in 11th.

Overall, all the 3 races were equally exciting and we are really looking forward to the next rounds of ISRL. The second round will be held on December 6th and 7th in Hyderabad, and after that the third and last round will take place in Calicut, Kerala on 20th and 21th December.
