2024 Kia Sonet Facelift Top-spec Trim To Get ADAS

Fresh news and details about the 2024 Kia Sonet facelift are coming in hard and fast prior to its debut on December 14. A leaked document suggests that its ADAS suite will be limited to the top-spec X-Line trim. That said, the post-launch brochure and feature details could be slightly different to what the leaked document suggests.

As per the doc, the Sonet’s Level-1 ADAS suite will include 10 features, including forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane follow assist, lane departure warning, high beam assist, driver attention warning, and leading departure alert. 

However, all of these will be limited to the top-spec X-line trim. As a result, you won’t be able to choose any colour option other than the X-Line exclusive Matte Graphite hue if you want ADAS tech. So it’ll either be the shade of your choice, or autonomous tech. Form over function?

The new Sonet will surely pack new features, a few confirmed ones including a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display and ADAS. Equipment like the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 8-speaker Bose sound system, connected car tech, wireless phone charger, and automatic climate control will likely be carried forward. 

The facelifted Sonet will continue with its existing powertrain options, which include an NA petrol, a turbo-petrol and a diesel unit. Moreover, as per the leaked document, the diesel engine will now also get the option of a manual transmission alongside the iMT and 6-speed AT options.

Unofficial bookings for the 2024 Kia Sonet are already underway at some dealerships ahead of its December 14 unveil, while a price announcement is expected in early 2024. It could command a minor premium over the current model, which is priced from Rs 7.79 lakh (ex-showroom). The Sonet will renew its rivalry with the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, and Nissan Magnite.
