Kia India reaches 10 lakh vehicle sales milestone in under 5 years of operation.
42% of Kia India’s sales come from top-end trims.
Automatic transmission models make up 32% of Kia's sales, with the Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT), offered with the Sonet, contributing 15%.
Kia India's current petrol to diesel sales ratio stands at 59 percent to 41 percent.
Kia India, in under 5 years of its operations in the country, has reached a sales milestone of 10 lakh units. The biggest contributor to the carmaker’s sales is the Kia Seltos, which accounts for over 48 percent of the company’s total domestic sales. The Sonet and Carens models also contributed significantly, accounting for 34 percent and 16 percent of Kia India's total sales, respectively.

Kia has also stated that 42 percent of its total sales have come from top-spec variants of its products, and automatic transmissions also account for 32 percent of its sales. Currently, Kia offers 3 automatic transmissions with its ICE cars: IVT, 6-speed automatic, and 7-speed DCT. The carmaker also offers an intelligent manual transmission (iMT) with the Kia Sonet, which accounts for 15 percent of the subcompact SUV’s sales.

As of now, 59 percent of all Kia buyers preferred petrol powertrains, while the rest have picked the diesel engine.The Korean auto manufacturer started with annual sales of 45,226 units back in 2019, which increased to 140,505 units in 2020, 181,583 units in 2021, and 254,556 units in 2022. Last year, Kia increased its sales to 255,000 units in total. So far in 2024, Kia has sold nearly 1.5 lakh units in the domestic market during the first seven months. The brand has also expanded its reach across the country with a network of 588 dealership touch points across 256 cities.

India plays a key role as an export hub for Kia Motors, with Kia India shipping over 2.6 lakh units to more than 100 overseas markets. Combined domestic and export sales for Kia India have reached nearly 1.3 million units till now.
