10,000. That’s the number of orders Tata received for the Tiago EV on the first day of opening bookings for the EV. Its introductory pricing that ranges between Rs 8.49 lakh and Rs 11.79 lakh (ex-showroom) was only applicable for the first 10,000 customers. But, comprehending the overwhelming response, Tata has extended the prices for another 10,000 orders.

You can put down your name for the electric hatchback online or at a dealership for a token amount of Rs 21,000. Tata will commence test drives in December, while deliveries are scheduled to begin in January. Production for the 24kWh battery pack variants will be prioritised following customer’s insights to keep the delivery timelines in check.

The Tiago EV is offered in four broad trims: XE, XT, XZ+ and XZ+ Tech Lux. While the XE and XT trims are offered with the 19.2kWh battery pack, every trim except for the XE can be had with a bigger 24kWh battery. The smaller battery utilises a 61PS/110Nm electric motor with a claimed range of 250km, while the 24kWh battery pack powers a 75PS/114Nm electric motor. The latter offers a claimed range of 315km.
