Tata has refined the styling of the SUV, which looks uncannily close to production-ready model as a concept

This isn’t the first time that Tata has showcased the Sierra EV concept. But this time around, there are big changes to its styling. We know it’s subjective, but by the looks of it, Tata has nailed it with this one.

The SUV has evolved from the last time it was showcased to the world. The design looks a lot cleaner and its butch quotient has been toned down a bit (emphasis on bit). The front sports a similar styling but with reworked bumpers, and the LED DRLs now span the width of the bonnet. It looks a lot sleeker and approachable, even with the massive skid plate.

Changes in profile are rather spartan, with the only noticeable revision being a mildly redesigned side plate and the regular opening doors (the inital concept got a sliding rear door). It maintains its flat roofline and flared wheel arches, and even the design for the alloys has been carried over. But the shoulderline is a lot more prominent than before.

The first thing you notice at the rear is just how upright the Sierra is. The reworked rear bumpers are hefty and the roofline comes to an end with a protruding spoiler. Taking everything into account, this boxy design looks very close to a production-ready model and we really wish that is the case.

The story is the same on the inside. Very close to production-ready. The dashboard is graded and features a dual-tone finish. The steering wheel has been carried from the Avinya concept; and after a scrupulous look, a central tunnel can also be seen (something that was absent before).

Like earlier, Tata has kept the powertrain specifications under the wraps, so we don’t really have anything to go by. But we reckon it’ll use Tata’s Ziptron technology and could feature a dual-motor setup powering all the four wheels. Although, only time will confirm these speculations.

With the styling of the Sierra concept looking closer to production than ever, we hope a launch is just on the horizon because we, for one, can’t wait to see this one on our roads. Don’t you hope the same?
