MG has definitely created an impact in India, even though it is still a very young brand on our shores. The automaker’s new “Select” showrooms are opening up across various major cities of India, and the M9 will be the first launch followed by the Cyberster. The M9’s prices will be out in July, followed by those of the Cyberster later in the same month. So without further ado, let’s understand what the two EVs are and their positioning in the market…
The M9 is a luxury MPV, for those who want to be chauffeured around in utmost comfort and enjoy all the expensive features that a car can offer. Set to launch at around Rs 70 lakh (ex-showroom), the M9 is the only electric MPV in its segment. If EV is not your thing, then you have the Kia Carnival and the more expensive and widely popular Toyota Vellfire. In the EV space, the M9 is your only option, and it’s a damn good one!

The M9’s 7-seater layout comprises a 2+2+3 seater layout with the second row being the place where you need to spend time, as it has almost everything. From multiple massage modes, to seat ventilation, recline and even side ways adjustment, that second row has it all. Furthermore, you also get a sleep mode where the co-driver seat moves forward and the second row chair reclines enough to give you a bed-like feeling. That being said, even the third row is very usable even for adults.
With the M9 being well over 5 metres, it still is not difficult to drive and while it might need extra care when compared to an Innova Hycross, driving in city traffic and parking it is actually doable. Out on the highways? You might feel like the king of the roads.

Design is subjective and while the M9 has a modern charm to it, its shiny chrome elements and polarizing design might not be for everyone.

With the M9, MG will look to capture those buyers who want to spend time in the back seat, and travel with their large family in luxury. What will attract buyers the most is that business class second row which will make you not want to leave the car. What do you think about the M9? Let us know in the comments section…
The Cyberster is coming in hot, ready to take on the Indian roads and hit the 100 kmph mark in just about 3.2 seconds. The Cyberster gives you the ultimate supercar vibe, but without the drama and excitement of a V8 or a V10 engine. The electric sports car will be sold through MG’s premium Select showrooms, and its prices will be out very soon.
We have already seen the Cyberster uncamoulaged on our roads, and it for sure is a head-turner. Its quirky and modern design along with its sportscar body style catches all the eyes on the road, and what stands out the most are its convertible roof and scissor doors. The interior too has a welcoming vibe with the fighter jet-inspired cockpit and four screens offering a completely premium and sporty experience.

With a 77 kWh battery pack and a claimed range of about 450 km, the numbers are impressive for a car that’s meant to be driven fast. The 510 PS/725 Nm dual electric motors provide supercar-level performance without making noise.

While the Cyberster sure is tempting, by no means is it practical. In most cases, you will only be able to use it for your midnight drives when there is less traffic and open roads to stretch out the legs of the EV. Moreover, its two-seater layout simply just makes it a personal indulgence.
However, it is for those who want to own something unique and extremely quick at one-fourth the price of your favourite supercar. It is for those who want to own a few sensible and family-friendly cars in their garage and simply want something to satisfy their sportscar desires.
