The Mahindra BE 6, along with the XEV 9e has scored a perfect 5 stars in the Bharat NCAP safety crash test! It is underpinned by the new INGLO platform and gets plenty of top-notch safety features that could have played a crucial part in securing the impressive score. The key factor is that most of the safety features are offered right from the base variant onwards. Here is a detailed look at the crash test results:
The BE 6 secured 31.97 out of 32 in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 45 out of 49 for Child Occupant Protection (COP). With a near-perfect rating in AOP and a commendable rating in COP, the overall rating leads to a 5-star score in both.
Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test Score: 15.97 out of 16.00
Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test: 16 out of 16.00
In the frontal impact test, both driver and co-driver received good protection, except for the driver’s right leg which got adequate protection.
In terms of the side pole impact test, the head, chest, abdomen and pelvis all sections were protected well and rated “good”
All-in-all, the BE 6 provided good protection to almost all parts in both tests!
Coming to Child Occupant Protection, the BE 6 scored 24 out of 24 in the dynamic test using the child restraint systems. The 18-month-old child test was also conducted in which the dynamic score was 8 out of 8 and 4 out of 4 in the front and side protection, respectively.
Even the 3-year-old received full protection with both frontal impact and side impact dynamic scores being rated as a perfect 8 out of 8 and 4 out of 4, respectively.
It is really nice to see that the BE 6 continues Mahindra's recent tradition of securing perfect ratings in crash tests. The BE 6 already has received plenty of praise, and with the perfect safety rating, its overall package looks even more impressive now!
