Maruti recently launched the 2025 model of the Grand Vitara, and with the model year update, the CNG option was discontinued. The good news is that the CNG powertrain choice has returned, starting from Rs 13.48 lakh (ex-showroom). The Grand Vitara CNG is available with the Delta and Zeta variants and offers a bunch of useful convenience and safety features, which we have detailed later on.
Before getting into the details of the CNG variants, let’s first take a look at the prices of both variants:
|
Variant |
Petrol Price |
Premium |
CNG Price |
|
Delta |
Rs 12.53 lakh |
+Rs 95,000 |
Rs 13.48 lakh |
|
Zeta |
Rs 14.67 lakh |
+Rs 95,000 |
Rs 15.62 lakh |
As seen in the table above, there is a price difference of over Rs 2 lakh between the two CNG variants. When compared to the respective petrol variant, you end up paying an extra Rs 95,000.

The Grand Vitara CNG comes with a bunch of premium features that keep you entertained. The updated CNG model now gets ventilated front seats, 6 airbags as standard, and a wireless phone charger as well.
Other features include a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an air purifier, steering mounted audio controls, a premium audio system by Clarion, a tyre pressure monitoring system, automatic climate control, and rear AC vents, connected car features, and keyless entry with push button start stop.

Safety features include ESC, hill hold assist, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat mounts and reverse parking camera.
If you want features like the panoramic sunroof, a heads-up display and a 360-degree camera, you will have to opt for the petrol variants.
The Grand Vitara CNG comes equipped with a 1.5-litre NA petrol engine, available only with a manual gearbox. The CNG version of the Grand Vitara makes 88 PS and 121.5 Nm and offers a claimed efficiency of 26.6 km per kg.

CNGs are not rare nowadays, but they are not very common in SUVs that belong to the Grand Vitara’s segment. Even popular names like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos or even the Volkswagen Taigun do not get the pocket-friendly option. This makes the Grand Vitara CNG even more important, and it is also one of the most spacious SUVs with factory-fitted CNG, as CNGs are mostly offered with either micro SUVs or subcompact SUVs.
Skoda might also introduce a CNG option with the Kushaq compact SUV, as the brand is currently evaluating the compatibility of CNG with its turbo-petrol engine.
Moreover, the addition of 6 airbags as standard further enhances the Grand Vitara CNG’s appeal, and the premium features offered with the Zeta variant make sure you don’t get bored.
